Jet Li's Fearless (Huo Yuan Jia) (Legend of a Fighter)
Such a shame that this is reportedly Jet Li's last Martial Arts film. I regret not being able to see this on the big screen, although I blame living secluded in the Northern parts of BC, lol. I feel this is his best film ever, it really goes in depth about everything to do with martial arts, not just the actual combat, but the spiritual and philosophical aspects of the art as well.

I have to say that this is quite possibly the best martial arts film of all time so far, and that is a bold statement, considering how greatly Bruce Lee and Toshiro Mifune are considered the best of the best. Especially by me, I can't wait for it to come out on dvd in North America, hopefully it will have a lot of detailed extras about the real Huo Yuan Jia and his school.

The fights were great, but I enjoyed the story and different aspects of martial arts that haven't really been dealt with in many of the greatest martial arts movies that I know of. I know some of Bruce Lee's re-released editions of his movies have more of the same kind of subject edited back in as the discs tell us.

All in all I highly recommend this film to all Martial Arts film fans

Flags of Our Fathers 2006,  R)
Flags of Our Fathers
I really enjoyed this, one thing to do if you see it, Don't go into it expecting all out action from start to end. Afterall it is a Clint Eastwood film, the action is good, the story is even better, especially Adam Beach and Ryan Phillippe, I felt that their performances were the best of the film.

The cast as a whole was really damn good, a lot of war movie/tv series veterans, a greaet performance by Jamie Bell, small part for Paul Walker. Neal McDonough that most would know as Buck Compton from Band of Brothers was fairly good, another couple of seemingly smalll part players were Robert Patrick and Barry Pepper, but good nonetheless.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

Alot of the movie is about what the three main characters went through after they were pulled off the front lines for a PR campaign to raise money for the war effort. All of the war sequences are of flashbacks being told by the survivors.

*END SPOILERS*

All in all this is possibly one of the best movies I've seen, HIGHLY RECOMMEND Seeing this film.

Now I was able to figure it all out as it went along so nothing surprised me. Good none the less. I would like to see Infernal Affairs to compare the two, but i'm hearing mixed reports on which is the better movie. I feel this has got to be DiCaprio's best performance thus far, which is surprising as the only other movie I liked him in was Romeo Juliet. I know I will get some flack for admitting that, lol. Damon was Excellent, As was Nicholson. Mark Wahlberg was really damn good, too bad his parts were limited. The entire cast was great, as was the story. I Highly Recommend this film.
