Donnie Darko
A great film that should be seen just to see it and watch it again - it's that good.

The Thing
The best Carpenter movie and based on a kick ass short story. No women and all action. Bad ass and scary. I love this film
3

Pan's Labyrinth
Great, great movie. I am so glad I saw it. Del Toro is a great director and I have always enjoyed his movies but this has to be the best film yet.

6
Bubba Ho-Tep 2002,  R)
Bubba Ho-Tep
All I can really say about this movie is how cool, smart, and funny it is. I love the adaptation of the Joe R. Lansdale story as he is one of my favorite writers. It rules and Bruce Campbell is the man.
7

MirrorMask
A great film that grabs your imagination and never lets go. You just have to see it and experience it. I love this McKean film.
8
Dead Man 1995,  R)
Dead Man
A very good film and a surprisingly great Gary Farmer. Worth watching more than once. Just see it - it's a lot more than it appears, even from a Native American perspective. Neil Young's soundtrack rules.
9
Grindhouse 2007,  R)
Grindhouse
Really Bad ass movie. Worth watching more than once. If you don't "get" it - leave it. A fun ride from beginning to end. Both films rocked. I grew up on drive-in movies.
10
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back 1980,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
The best one of them all and I don't count I, II, and III - those movies sucked. This one can't be topped. A super classic.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 1998,  R)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
One of Terry Gilliam's best movies and a great adaptation of an extremely difficult book. Right on.
12
Walk the Line 2005,  PG-13)
Walk the Line
A great bio film superior to most. I was really impressed with Joaquin Phoenix's performance and even Resse Witherspoon's as well. The soundtrack is awesome and again impressive as it features the cast performing as their movie counterparts. Brilliant.
13
Batman Begins 2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
The best one by far - only Katie Holmes ruined it for me. Thankfully she was in the movie minimally. So good it made me forget how horrible Tim Burton's and Joel Schumacher' s Batman movies. Can't wait for "The Dark Knight."
14
Sin City 2005,  R)
Sin City
Awesome movie - one of the best comic book movies ever and that's just the theater cut of the movie. The director's version was really cool as well and you should watch that version if you like the film.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou 2004,  R)
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
Wes Anderson's very underrated film is brilliant and smart. Wonderful soundtrack by Seu Jorge compliments this movie very well. Rushmore was good but this film along with The Royal Tennenbaums was great.
19
Clerks II 2006,  R)
Clerks II
I love Clerks but Clerks II was a worthy sequel. It was surprisingly deep when I just expected dick and fart jokes. Kevin Smith is the man.
20
Apocalypse Now 1979,  R)
Apocalypse Now
Both the original and redux are great. You just have to see it.
21
Club Dread 2004,  R)
Club Dread
I really liked this movie and was surprised how smart it was as far as making fun of the horror/slasher genre. It was funny but not as good as Supertroopers and Beerfest. Ten times better than The Dukes of Hazzard though.
22
Cherish 2002,  R)

A surprising movie that I did not expect much from. The actors are great in this film even Jason Priestly. I love the humor and the dark moments very much. The soundtrack rules too.

Terry Gilliam at his funniest and he pulls no punches. I loved this movie and the depiction of Napoleon and Robin Hood. Too funny.
29
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang 2005,  R)
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
Shane Black is the man - this film is not only good but funny. You'd think he'd have a hard time making light of his "greatest hits" but he doesn't. Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer rule in this movie and I hate Kilmer with a passion.
30
Unforgiven 1992,  R)

Clint Eastwood's best film by far and he turns in a great performance as well. Morgan Freeman rules in this film along with Gene Hackman and Richard Harris. The best Western film made in my opinion.

A really well done movie that is both dramatic and funny. Rea, Nighy, and Connolly were great in this film. The best film done about this subject and I am including Almost Famous. A brilliant surprise of a movie. Rock on.
35
Manhunter 1986,  R)
Manhunter
The best film by far compared to Rattner's Red Dragon, Scott's Hannibal, Demme's Silence of the Lambs and Webber's Hannibal Rising. A really good film, with a great director and actors. Brian Cox as Hannibal is excellent and I think I prefer his version much more.
36
The Big Lebowski 1998,  R)
The Big Lebowski
Great, great film. Jeff Bridges, John Goodman and Steve Buscemi. Awesome. Kick ass and timeless. In my opinion their best film yet.

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
An awesome film and "mockumentry" that really impressed me. Smart but also funny. Nathan Baesel is great in this movie but what really made it come together was the third act. I loved the over the credit "reveal" with the Talking Heads playing Psycho Killer. Rock on. I need to own this movie.
38

41
Zodiac 2007,  R)
Zodiac
Great, great move by Fincher. Good storyline and great actors. Really impressive and very detailed to the point I almost forgot I was just watching a movie. There are only great things to say about this film. A must see.
42
The Darwin Awards 2006,  R)
The Darwin Awards
Great film and a great follow up from the director from "Cherish". It was funny and odd at the same time. I love Dark Comedies. The only thing that sucked about this movie was the inclusion of the lame 'metal' band Metallica - kind of took the wind out of the movie a bit. Despite that a great and funny film.
43
300 2007,  R)
300
Awesome!! So much better than I thought it was going to be and I thought it was going to be bad ass. It rocked. I have to see this film again or even own it. Rock on Gerard Butler.

Very good adaptation of Stephen King and a excellent film. I know, I know, it's a bit different but Cusack really pulled off this film. Freaky, scary, and very emotional. I absolutely loved it.

49
30 Days of Night 2007,  R)
30 Days of Night
An awesome vampire film that's a nice mix of 'Vampires meets The Thing'. Great acting and storyline. Josh Hartnett is usually lame but he's really good in this film and is nicely balanced by Danny Huston as the 'head' Vampire. Loved the ending too. Only lame part of the film was 'ol bucktooth - she should have just kept her mouth shut until she had a line.
50
Mr. Brooks 2007,  R)
Mr. Brooks
A very well done serial killer movie and Kevin Costner's best film ever. Great pacing and story. Loved it.
51
Fido 2006,  R)

52
American Psycho 2000,  R)
American Psycho
A great book that you'd think would be impossible to make into a movie. Harron did it with her adaptation with Christian Bale. A very good film and adaptation with a great sense of sarcasm, irony, pessimism, and dark humor. It rocks.

Great tense horror movie. Danny Boyle did it. Very, very near perfect and fun to watch. I loved how it was filmed and it lent to the mood of the film very well. It rocked.
54

Wow. A very good sequel to a film that was very near perfect. It was very dark and fast paced, I loved that about it. No such thing as a perfect or happy ending. Loved it.
