I really enjoyed this - had fantastic special effects as I originally saw in the ads. The storyline was great, and even Nic Cage escaped from his normally wooden acting and gave something to the role. Definitely worth paying the money to see it at the movies, and would watch it again happily.
I was a bit skeptical that it could live up to expectations that I had from watching the cartoons on Saturday mornings when I was growing up (alongside He-man and She-ra), but I really enjoyed this. Fantastic special effects. A good storyline... and some great acting from Shia LaBeouf. Josh Duhamel was easy to look at too! It was fantastic having aussie Rachael Taylor in the movie and this time she actually put across some great acting and a good character, unlike when she was in man-thing which I think everybody who was in that has to apologise to the general public. Anyway, safe to say we'll be purchasing this on DVD when it comes out. A shame that Spielberg didn't push to get local Canberra band, Meatbee's version of the song in the flick. Oh well, they released it anyway and it's very good. Here's their website http://www.meatbee.com/downloads.html. That's the only reason it didn't get 5 stars! It would have made the movie that much better.
I adore this movie. Jack Black is so outrageous. Listen out for the track that's playing when the Principal and Jack are in the bar. It's by The Black Keys, an awesome 2 man band.
The Corey's in the same flick?? It's gotta be good! Also, the fact that Keifer plays a fantastic bad guy is just fine with me. I love the first song that you hear as the camera flies over the water to the carnival "I still believe". I've been trying to track that down for ages!
I loved this movie (probably watched it because of Stephen Dorff), but the movie was so powerful, I got the books and got them signed by Bryce. One of my prized possessions today.
I have to say that I'm not much of a fan of poetry, but I still love this movie. I see it as being more about the relationships between young men growing up and their teacher with unusual (of the day) teaching methods. A great brotherhood story.
This is so funny. It takes a while to get off the ground, but once you're in, I found it hard to stop laughing. It's an Aussie movie so might be hard to get overseas, but if you can, do it!!
I watch this movie every time it's on TV... it's too dangerous to buy the DVD... (recent update - guess what? We bought the DVD! We figure this might save us time as we won't need to watch it every time it's on as we'll say - no worries - we've got it on DVD!)
I've just got one thing to say "you remind me of the babe, what babe? the baby with the power, what power? the power of voodoo, whodo? you do, what? remind me of the babe!" I just saw this again at the drive-in's tonight! Was so good, especially in the new car with the Bose stereo system!
