Brilliant film from S. Korea, the events at the beginning seemed overwhelming at first but everything falls into place at the end, which is what makes a flawless twist and an amazing film.
21
[Rec] 2007,  R)
[Rec]
Holy shit, this film was just what I needed afterwatching a string of pathetic attempts at horror. I can't remember the last time I was glued to the screen and drawn to the events that took place in a horror film. There were parts that didn't have anything to do with horror, but I think that was made to ease the viewer so that they are more terrified later on. The realism was intense, most of the time I felt like I was actually in the film, which made the experience even more incredible. This film is for people who think the Horror genre in general has become a joke, so now they can watch this and shit themselves from fear. I think I've finally seen a Horror film that is actually made to capture fear and release it upon viewing. Just amazing.
22
Hard Candy 2005,  R)
Hard Candy
This was a surprise, didn't think a young girl could play such a psychotic character but she "nailed" it, flawless ending too..
23
Tôkyô Zankoku Keisatsu (Tokyo Gore Police) 2008,  Unrated)
Tôkyô Zankoku Keisatsu (Tokyo Gore Police)
Wow! This film turned out to be the best Avant-Garde/Gore film I've ever scene, with a cool storyline, kickass main character and just plain fucked gory action scenes which I adore. This is the gory film I've been looking for all these years.
24
Dead Man's Shoes 2004,  Unrated)
Dead Man's Shoes
Very impressive thriller. Paddy Considine played a flawless psycho and the ending was very well done. Films as good as this don't come very often.
25
Natural Born Killers 1994,  R)
Natural Born Killers
The best "romantic" film I've seen thus far. The acting from all the actors was flawless, the story was amazing (one of Tarantino's best) and the way different scenes were filmed just gave this film an extra edge.
26
American Beauty 1999,  R)
American Beauty
Amazing Drama-Comedy, with probably Kevin Spacey's best performance ever. His character was hilarious but the Drama aspect of the film was thought-provoking.
27
eXistenZ 1999,  R)

This film is just too cool, narrowing the gap between the virtual and real world, when you just can't tell the difference anymore.
28

The Godfather
The oldest Crime-Drama I like, and there's no point in me mentioning why it's so great.
29

The Godfather, Part II
Almost as good as the first, but a classic as well.
30
Apt Pupil 1998,  R)
Apt Pupil
Ian McKellen brilliant as always, and the other guy turned out to be a cool and manipulative Psycho in the end.
31
Simon Says 2006,  R)
Simon Says
Aah yes! now this is a good slasher-flick with probably the best ending I've seen in that genre. Glover just plays the coolest killer and the death scenes were very satisfying as well.
32
Willard 2003,  PG-13)
Willard
Very original film and interesting story, Glover was brilliant in it especially when he "snaps".
33
The Departed 2006,  R)
The Departed
The closest Scorcese has gone to achieve the greatness of his 90's classics, brilliant acting and storyline, would expect nothing less.
34
Leaving Las Vegas 1995,  R)
Leaving Las Vegas
Didn't think I would like this at first, but now it has become one of my favourite films and possibly the best role I've seen Cage in. Maybe due to the fact that I can relate to the subject I really enjoyed the melancholic atmosphere throughout the film. Definitely a masterpiece in my eyes.
35
Casino 1995,  R)
Casino
Another Scorcese masterpiece, almost as good as Goodfellas, but a classic in its own right.
36

Rewatched this film recently and thought it deserved a higher rating, this film is just fun to watch until the tragic end, which I still think is flawless.

L.A. Confidential
The best "detective" drama I've seen, great performance from everyone really, plus a brilliant storyline.

Can't believe I never got round to watching this as now it's definitely my favourite Depp-Burton film.
45
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans 2009,  R)
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
Wow, this was a very fun film with an excellent performance from Cage. Unlike the "other" BL film I found Cage's character very likeable and amusing and also I was glad that it had the ending I was looking for. This is the sort of Cop-Drama that I find pleasing to watch.
46
300 2007,  R)
300
Excellent film with very good acting from all the actors as well as bloody satisfying action scenes, so I was very pleased after watching it.
47
Orphan 2009,  R)
Orphan
Well this was a very intense Horror-Thriller involving the "murderous kid". Before this I didn't think much of child actors as I found them annoying most of the time but I have to say that Isabelle Fuhrman has become my favourite child actress after this film. Her character was such a charismatic, manipulative psychopath I just loved it and the fact that she managed to pull that character off so well made it even more brilliant. As I feared the ending was not what I wanted due to its annoying typical Hollywood bullshit. Still due to Fuhrman's performance I can't give this film a lower rating.
48
Last Seduction 1994,  R)
Last Seduction
One of the best psychological thrillers I've ever seen with the most ruthless female character.
49
El Día de la bestia (The Day of the Beast) 1995,  R)
El Día de la bestia (The Day of the Beast)
This film was insanely amusing about a priest teaming up with a metalhead to find out how to summon Satan. The situations were the priest had to do evil deeds were just awesome. Quality stuff!

Brilliant film about a schizo. For the first time ever I had sympathy for Kevin Costner's character, especially near the end.
53
In the Company of Men 1997,  R)
In the Company of Men
Aah yes, finally some dark humor. Aaron Eckhart was flawless and just plain amusing in a twisted way. No happy endings here so it was very fun to watch after a string of typical films I've seen lately. I just love watching twisted characters getting away with things that disturb most people. Excellent stuff.
54
Secret Window 2004,  PG-13)
Secret Window
The film moves at a slow pace, but as Depp's character says "The only thing that matters is the ending". I concur.
55
In the Mouth of Madness 1994,  R)
In the Mouth of Madness
A more original Horror film, an interesting view on insanity I must say.
56
Bad Santa 2003,  R)
Bad Santa
Definitely the best Christmas film I've ever seen. Thornton was very amusing and the ending somehow managed to be touching which was a surprise. After watching this all the other X-mas films seem even more lame and stupid. A definite Must-See.
57
Watchmen 2009,  R)
Watchmen
Epic film based on a graphic novel, while Sin City was more fun this one had a dark mature atmosphere surrounding it, which just pulled me in. Most of the characters had an interesting aspect about them as well as being bad-asses when needed. This film should have been made into a series, there was just so much more I wanted to find about that universe. Still an awesome flick that I plan on watching again soon.
58
Scent of a Woman 1992,  R)
Scent of a Woman
Should have watched this ages ago, probably the best role I've seen Pacino play with too many amusing scenes to mention. A classic.
59
Ed Wood 1994,  R)
Ed Wood
Exceptional film from Depp-Burton. Flawless acting from the actors especially Martin Landau who was hilarious making this a quality Biographic-Drama-Comedy.
60
The Wrestler 2008,  R)
The Wrestler
Was really looking forward to this and it didn't dissapoint. Rourke definitely shone in this film with his amazing performance and the other actors supported him very well. The best thing I liked about it was the realism which was done very professionally with the dramatic moments as well as amusing ones wihich just came naturally and made the film flow effortlessly. A true classic in my eyes.
61
Taken 2008,  PG-13)
Taken
This was a really cool modern Action-Thriller that just beats the shit out of the latest Bond film QoS. Never thought much of Neeson in his previous films but in this one he was such a bad ass with his cool "punches in the throat". Damn this guy could have made a way better bond than Craig even though he's well in his 50's . The story was simple but the action and thriller aspects were cool enough there was no need for a complex story. The story reminded me of the Commando film with Arnie and this seems like a darker modernised version of it succeeding in almost every way an action film should. I guess nowadays all the large muscles have been replaced with style and this film definitely has it.
62
Mirrors 2008,  R)
Mirrors
Thought this was one of the better recent Horror films. There was a believable lead character (played very well by Kiefer) who carried the film at the right pace. The creepy-gory parts were balanced out as they should be in a Horror like this. There really wasn't any time in the film where I thought it was dragging on as there was just enough info given to advance the plot and it sensibly got solved near the end. On another note the ending did get extra points from me as it surrounded the lead character who was the only one I really liked at all. This was very good stuff although I dunno if I will watch the original (too bad I found out about this after the film otherwise I would have watched that one first). Ah well.
63
Chugyeogja (The Chaser) 2008,  Unrated)
Chugyeogja (The Chaser)
One of the most realistic thrillers I've ever seen with a message and realistic ending. Rarely can a film be portrayed this convincingly right up till the end.
64
Triangle 2009,  R)
Triangle
Oh yes this is the sort of Mystery-Horror that I love. While at first this film seemed like it would be another Ghost Ship clone things became more interesting once people started to get killed off on the ship. This sort of film made me eztremely eager to see what would happen next and by the end I was very surprised how well the ending was pulled off. Definitely a worthy Horror film concerning the Bermuda Triangle.
65
Idiocracy 2006,  R)
Idiocracy
This is one of the rare films that can actually get away with stupid humor. The main reason I found this hilarious is that that future might come sooner than some might think, I think the majority of people are already more stupid compared to 10 or 20 years ago, with all these dumbass "cultures" popping up and lowering the IQ's of the majority. Well at last my thoughts on the future of the world were put in a comedy and I'm glad I won't be around to witness this "Idiocracy". Was good to see that after Beavis & Butthead Mike Judge has some good ideas left. Excellent stuff.
66
There Will Be Blood 2007,  R)
There Will Be Blood
Exceptional Drama with flawless acting from Day-Lewis, the film kept my interest till the end (pretty rare with the recent Drama's I've seen), and Day-Lewis was just fun to watch. Special mention to the last scene which was just incredible and the ending definitely suited this type of film. Excellent stuff.

Bram Stoker's Dracula
A very good film about Dracula, beats the old ones by a long-shot imo.
82

Predator
The best film with Arnie in it, maybe coz he has the most interesting enemy, which is a perfect hunter.
83
Narc 2002,  R)
Narc
It was good to see Ray Liotta, in a very good crime-drama after all this time, probably his best performance since Goodfellas.
84
Gangs of New York 2002,  R)
Gangs of New York
A very good Scorcese flick, not quite as good as the old ones, but a great film nevertheless.
85
Inside (À l'intérieur) 2007,  R)
Inside (À l'intérieur)
Wow, this was some pretty sick shit. There was no fun unlike in other slashers. At least here there was a very good attempt at realism and explaining the psycho-woman's motives which seemed fair enough imo. Definititely enough blood and gore as I would expect from such a film. Not quite the ending I wanted, but it did make sense the most. This is horror for people who can't stand typical horror slashers. Quality stuff.
86
The Descent 2005,  R)
The Descent
This was a surprise, plenty of suspense and gore to satistfy my bloodlust. So I was pretty "happy" after watching this.

Irreversible
Very interesting crime film from france filmed backwards. Very original I think.
90
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith 2005,  PG-13)
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
My favourite Star Wars film, mainly because of the lightsaber battles and Anikin's transition to the dark side. If only all the Star Wars films were as dark as this.
91
Primal Fear 1996,  R)
Primal Fear
Damn was this a surprise. Even though the film moved at a slow pace it just got better and better till the end, which was just too good. Gere was decent for once, but Norton was just Flawless all the way throughout the film.
92
Scarface 1983,  R)
Scarface
A bit overrated in my opinion, but I do like it nevertheless although I don't consider this to be the best film with Pacino.
93
Zodiac 2007,  R)
Zodiac
Very interesting film about how one serial killer, just didn't get caught even with lots of evidence against him. The "mystery" aspect in the film kept my interest till the end.
94
Re-Animator 1985,  R)
Re-Animator
A much more interesting "zombie" film, with a flawless performance by Combs as the eccentric scientist.
95
The Mist 2007,  R)
The Mist
Wow this was a surprise, hadn't read the book but maybe that's why I enjoyed the mystery and suspense so much since I had no idea what the "creatures" were. Good acting for the most part and I immensley enjoyed what happened to the most annoying character when it did, although I would have slowed down the death, but can't win 'em all I guess. The final scene was also a surprise, finally an ending that wasn't typical and that I approve.
Possibly the best film I've seen based on a Stephen King novel. Quality stuff.
96
Sunshine 2007,  R)
