What a Carve Up! (No Place Like Homicide!)
A film I've watched many times, one of my favourite - favourties. Almost a "Carry On" but not quite. Kenneth Connor & Sid James make a great double act. Great cast, nice to see early appearances by Michael Gough (pre Batman that is) and Donald Pleasence. Only let down was there was one part of the film that confused me, other than that, fans of the "Carry On"type films will probably enjoy it.

Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys)
Brilliant film by Terry Gilliam. I've seen 12 Monkeys a few times now (not tired of it yet) and it still makes me spend the whole day or so after chewing it over - great story. The ending always makes me cry. Good cast too I'm not a Brad Pitt fan but he's great in this. Five stars for this one! :D

The Lion King
The Lion King has it all really: brilliant animation, amazing soundtrack (who can resist singing animals :P), a proper story, we have a tale of friendship, revenge, love etc something to take notice of. Every time I watch it it's still as fresh as my first viewing in the cinema upon the release. Would have got 5/5 but for that part involving Simba's Father, you know, gets me every time :'(

The Blues Brothers 1980,  R)

Shrek 2001,  PG)
Shrek
Magical and fun are good words for Shrek. Very hard to find fault with the film. Has a great story, (it's really good how they incorporate all those fairy tale characters) animation, soundtrack, everything. I've seen Shrek 2 and even though it probably has more characters and more story, Shrek 1 still is my favourite.

Shrek: Ogres are like onions.
Donkey: They stink?
Shrek: Yes. No.
Donkey: Oh, they make you cry.
Shrek: No.
Donkey: Oh, you leave em out in the sun, they get all brown, start sproutin' little white hairs.
Shrek: NO. Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers.
[sighs]
Donkey: Oh, you both have layers. Oh. You know, not everybody like onions. :D

V for Vendetta
"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V"

Did you count the V's? haha good stuff. What can be said about "V for Vendetta" I found it very thought provoking, so if you like a film that makes you think I urge you to give it a watch. And it was different for a change to have a hero who isn't a typical hero.

A Chump at Oxford
Possibly my favourite Laurel & Hardy film so far. What a classic and a whole lot of fun. I enjoyed it all but especially loved the getting lost in a maze and the "serve the salad undressed".

Young Sherlock Holmes 1985,  PG-13)

Flushed Away
All round fun all ages! Nothing really upsetting for a younger audience but very entertaining for an older audience too. Amazing animation with such attention to detail. Had a good pace to it, fast enough not to bore but not fast enough to lose you either. I did laugh many times. Only complaint was some of the voice work let it down for me.
