ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!
Ahhh, I miss the days when NBC used to have mini-series events. I love this movie. It is everything that a modern day fairy tale should be. It has action, romance, magic mirrors, fairy-tale princesses, wolves, trolls, talking fish, etc, etc, etc. In addition, Scott Cohen is the hottest Wolf I have ever seen.
I first saw this movie on PBS when I was a little kid. I instantly fell head over heels for the film and can honestly say that I love this movie so much. I love the singing. I love the dancing. I love Jane Powell and Howard Keel (they were just too adorable, and their characters are just right for each other). The Pontipee brothers are a bit naive; but that does not stop them from being handsome and entertaining. I can watch this film over and over again and never tire of it. My favorite song is 'Lonesome Polecat'; but, truthfully, I love them all.
Make 'em laugh!, Make 'em laugh!, Make 'em laugh!
Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds are fantastic; but I especially loved Donald O'Connor's 'Cosmo Brown'. He had the best lines and one of the best songs. This film is a great pick-me up movie for any kind of day - come rain, shine, snow, sleet...
When I was a little girl, I used to wish for a live action Transformers movie. The cartoon was great. I mean how could cars that turn into robots not be cool? Well, it took Hollywood quite a while, but the end product is definitely worth the wait. Had this been made years ago we could have ended up with another He-Man: Masters of the Universe or Flash Gordon (each good in their own ways and for their own times, but nothing close to this). What the wait produced was an amazing thrill ride of a film. "Transformers" is a work of art. Everything and everyone in it deserves an A+ - especially Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and Shia LaBeouf.
I love a movie that can provide a sense of fantasy, whimsy and silliness while still supplying a strong storyline. This film manages to accomplish all that while throwing in the added bonuses of romance, Claire Danes, Charlie Cox and Dexter Fletcher. A+.
This movie was amazing. Iron Man never looked so good. Whatever RDJr is doing, please, please keep doing it. He looked great and fit the character to a tee. This is a 10/10 film.
Enjoy the musical portions of the film as Lou Costello does a touch of singing and dancing. The comedy of Abbott and Costello never gets old and this movie will have everyone laughing.
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling have such an intense and yet comforting chemistry between them, that it makes it hard not to love this film. It makes you want to laugh, cheer, and cry all at the same time. Isn't that one of the marks of a really great movie?
Well, let's see - Hugh Jackman, James Marsden, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart playing off each other, Alan Cumming's perfect portrayal as Nightcrawler. Even Halle Berry's 'Storm' wig wasn't AS horrible. The acting was perfect and the newcomers were all welcome. It would have been better if Gambit was in it, but all in all Bryan Singer knows how to do X-men right. Now if only he would pull an "Incredible Hulk" and 'remake' the train wreck that was X3.
They are wonderful adaptations of some of Shakespeare's famous tales. The best adaptation, Taming of the Shrew, displays the considerable talents of Rufus Sewell and Shirley Henderson.
This film is amazing! Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman were all excellent in their roles. Maggie Gyllenhaal did a fair job with the minimal material she was given; however, Heath Ledger was the standout. The studio is going to have to search far-and-wide (and even then I do not believe that they will ever find anyone) if they want to find a replacement for Ledger. His 'Joker' stole every scene in which he appeared. He was so imaginative, twisted, sadistic, and random - it was sheer excellence. Bale was extremely hot, as always, but his throaty Batman growl started to grate on my nerves about 2 hours in. While I am deducting half a star for that reason, this movie is a definite must see.
Martin Lawrence is very funny in this movie. His pizza delivery boy and the convenience store scene with Miles' driver Tulley had me laughing for a while. Luke Wilson is also good as the by-the-book detective who learns to loosen up thanks to Lawrence. The laughs are solid in this film and the soundtrack is amazing.
"Yippee-Kie-Ya, Mammasita!"
I was a little skeptical about this movie at first. I loved The Chipmunks as a kid and didn?t want to be disappointed. However, after seeing the film I can honestly say that Alvin, Simon and Theodore still have it. This is a good family movie with plenty of laughs; and the soundtrack is pretty catchy too.
This movie is brilliant. Filmed primarily in one room, it is packed with drama and suspense and speaks volumes to the level of talent of the cast and crew.
