No Country for Old Men 2007,  R)
No Country for Old Men
This thriller is one of the most suspenseful films I have seen, sweaty palm, hold your breath suspense. Javier Bardem has created one of the most memorable psychotic killers in cinema history with a haunting stare and an amazingly controlled performance. Definately the best Cohen Brother film to date, and one of the best of the year.
4

DeNiro and Pacino are fab, but Val Kilmer is the real gem in this brilliant Heist flick.

The Usual Suspects
The Usual Suspects gave us Kevin Spacey in a brilliant performance and a plot that keeps you guessing long after the credits role. One of the smartest clime flicks to date.
8
The Departed 2006,  R)
The Departed
Martin Scorcese is back on his game with this crime flick. Leonardo Dicaprio only gets better with age, and Jack Nicholson owns every scene he is in.
9
Little Miss Sunshine 2006,  R)
Little Miss Sunshine
Brilliant cast, thoughtful, funny film!
10
American Beauty 1999,  R)
American Beauty
Kevin Spacey owned this role and made the movie what it was. Hope Sam Mendes can live up to this brilliant debut with future flicks as so far hasnt reached the same heights.
11
Cidade de Deus (City of God) 2002,  R)
Cidade de Deus (City of God)
Often refered to as the 'Brazilian Goodfellas' this film is a raw and honest look at life in Rio slums, which isnt pretty. The fact that for most of the actors this was their first role makes it more real and confronting. A very violent and powerful film, not to be missed.
