The Namesake
This is an amazing film with a great cast of actors. I fell in love with the story esp. Ashoke and Ashima. Tabu is an amazing actress. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing!!! It blends with the emotion of the film well. Another reason I feel this film is great is because it depicts a struggle with identifying with two cultures. Watch the end credits for the beautiful song by Nitin Sawhney ft. Aqualung "falling" and the beautiful voice of Susheela Raman "The Same Song".

This movie is the best!! Every moment of it is great. Celine's song, The Waltz, sums up the relationship between her and Jesse. -------
Celine's sings to Jesse in her apartment:
"Let me sing you a waltz..Out of nowhere, out of my thoughts..Let me sing you a waltz..About this one night stand..You were, for me, that night.. Everything I always dreamt of in life But now you're gone..You are far gone..All the way to your island of rain..It was for you just a one night thing..But you were much more to me, just so you know.. I don't care what they say.. I know what you meant for me that day..I just want another try, I just want another night..Even if it doesn't seem quite right..You meant for me much more than anyone I've met before..One single night with you, little Jesse,..is worth a thousand with anybody..I have no bitterness, my sweet..I'll never forget this one night thing..Even tomorrow in other arms,..my heart will stay yours until I die..Let me sing you a waltz..Out of nowhere, out of my blues..Let me sing you a waltz..About this lovely one night stand"

I LOVE THIS MOVIE. I LOVE CAMERON AND FERRIS'S FRIENDSHIP....VERY FUNNY.
----
Cameron:"Why'd you kick me?"
Ferris: "Where's your brain?"
Cameron: "Why'd you kick me?"
Ferris: "Where's your brain?"
Cameron: "Why'd you kick me?"
Ferris: "Where's your brain?"
Cameron: "I asked you first."
Ferris: "How can we pick up Sloane if Rooney is there with her?"
Cameron: "I said for her to be there alone and you freaked."
Ferris: "Now, I didn't hit you. I lightly slapped you."
Cameron: "You hit me. Look don't make me participate in your stupid crap if you don't like the way I do it. You make me get out of bed, you make me come over here. You make me make a phony phone call to Edward Rooney? The man could squash my nuts into oblivion. And-and-and then, and then, you deliberately hurt my feelings."

Dead Poets Society 1989,  PG)
Dead Poets Society
THIS MOVIE IS GREAT. ROBIN WILLIAMS PERFORMANCE AS THE ENGLISH TEACHER KEATING IS EXCELLENT. KEATING'S TEACHINGS ARE BRILLIANT, THE MOVIE IS AMAZING.
-------
(The class is staring at an old photo)
John Keating: "They're not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? (whispers) Carpe (normal voice) hear it? (whispers) Carpe, carpe diem, (normal voice) seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary."
-----
(Keating is standing on his desk)
John Keating: "Why do I stand up here?"
Dalton: "To feel taller!"
John Keating: "No!"
(Keating hits a bell with his foot)
John Keating: "Thank you for playing Mr. Dalton. I stand upon my desk to remind myself that we must constantly look at things in a different way."

Children of Men 2006,  R)
Children of Men
What can i say about this movie...hmm...its the best!!!! I could not move away from the screen for a moment. Julianne Moore...God she's amazing in this film. Sad though, what happens to Julian. Chiwetel Ejiofor's character took me by suprise. I especially love the music. God the music was amazing. The Libertines, Radiohead, Franco Battiato's version of the Rolling Stones Ruby Tuesday, and of couse John lennon. "Bring on the Lucie "(-Lennon) was amazing...having that as the ending song to the film was genius. I felt so much like getting myself more involved with social movements...crazy!! Alfonso Cuaron...he's a genius...love him.
32
Stargate 1994,  PG-13)
Stargate
Absolute favorite!! When I first saw this film it blew me away, one of the best sci-fi films. Traveling through space, alien planets, and a connection to ancient egyptian Gods. I love it! James Spader and Kurt Russell are amazing in their roles as Dr. Jackson and Col. O'Neil. The storyline and music are great, but the best is the jackel and falcon head custumes of Ra's guards and Ra himself. Amazing!!
