A simply amazing piece of filmmaking...funny, tragic, bold all at the same time. This was Carole Lombard's last film (she died in a plane crash 3 weeks before the film debuted), and is truly at her best here. She and Jack Benny star as Polish theatre performers caught in the Nazi invasion. SOOO good! |
