The best movie of 2005. It should definitely have received the oscar for best picture, best director, as well as oscars for Ledger, Gyllenhaal, and Williams.
Very controversial movie. I saw this film at a film festival. People either hated it or thought it was the best thing they had seen. The undercurrent of the movie is potential human cloning gone bad.
This movie is almost impossible to describe. It is definitely not a kid's movie, nor for the faint of heart. There are a few scenes of vivid, graphic violence that had the audience groaning and twisting in their seats. Very realistic. And yet you will find beauty in the grotesque. I highly recommend it. Go SEE it. This movie will take you to places you have never been before.
I was prepared not to like this movie. I had heard it was too long, too confusing with constant time shifts backward and forward. It was all of that, but half way through the movie it grew on me. Very well done. One of Matt Damon's best acting roles.
