With the top of the line actors and excellent cinematography, including wonderfully detailed battle scenes, I have trouble believing critics didn't like it. I imagine, however, the battle scenes were considered a bit long, but the details of Balian's defense of the city were amazing and wise. He wasn't being prideful, he was doing what he thought was best for the people. The King, Balian, and Saludin were the best examples of true leadership on film. |
