My favorite one. Al Pacino, Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron deliver a fast paced movie where our inner desires are revealed. The movie is not about law, but how our "law" is filled inside our deepest emotions.
Good and Evil, Saint and Sinner. The contrasts are there and smoothly delivered in this masterpiece. Outstanding.
Truly the finest modern masterpiece! It's hard to talk about it because it really defies description.. Brilliantly done, masterly executed. One of the all times best.
QUOTE - "I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday. "
This movie didn't receive the best critics, but for me is easily one of the best thrillers of all time. An young Matt Damon dresses a trouble minded Mr.Ripley whose demented intentions are cast against his childish face.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law complete a well chosen cast for this movie. It's slow paced till the middle but then it builds a never ending roller coaster of dark emotions.
Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman, Val Kilmer, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette in a Tarantino's story. Well, with this set of stars I think we don't have to say more..
This one must be one of the most underrated movies of all time.
Paraphrasing Hans Zimmer soundtrack: - It's so cool...
I'm really not a fan of Penelope Cruz, and in this movie she can be largely annoying. But that doesn't enshrouds this one. Johny Depp is presented as the greatest drug dealer of all time, building his empire step by step.
Not an easy going movie. You have to attend to all details to fully understand it. A well conceived story is told backwise. Great performance by Guy Pearce.
The concept isn't new. A world without emotions to preserve peace. The slow paced action, and Matrix bullet-times aren't new fashioned either. This movie is a new gen mix between Fahrenheit 451, Matrix and Dark City. But the scenarios, and Christian Bale, Sean Bean and William Fichtner performances make this movie a brilliant one. The soundtrack reveals a Klaus Badelt at his best. And in a movie without emotions you cannot finish it without feeling. I think that is the greatest thing a movie can deliver.
Great scenarios and ... Guy Pearce. The story of a time machine was casted several times through time, but this one is different. This one reveals the emotions of a man losing his loved one. And in his quest he got lost somewhere in the future...
A new World is revealed and the story accomplishes by itself. Brilliant movie, brilliant soundtrack.
It was the first and though the sequels are also good, this one is unique. When I first saw this movie I didn't have any expectations. The only actor I knew was Danny Glover from Lethal Weapon and I don't recall him as being a great actor.
So the story develops in a bathroom, two guys have a game to play and the rules are dictated by a mysterious voice in a tape while they are chained with few chances to move. The pieces are reconstructed this time in front of your eyes, puzzling a twisted story.
Maybe the most surprising low-budget movie I saw in the last years. Flawless.
David Fincher brought us a story about the 7 Deadly Sins. It's raw and well done. Brad Pitt doesn't cast his best performance here but you can see Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman at their best.
Fast paced and with an amazing ending. Great movie.
