No Country for Old Men
This movie stands alone as the most unorthodox film I have seen in a long time. The "Bourne" trilogy comes to mind, and certainly Donnie Darko, but "No Country" just has a very unique touch. As far as the acting goes, credit the Coen bros., because the performances are overrated. That doesn't include Macdonald, a Scot, who portrays a Texan beautifully.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
One of the best, if not the best, movie I have seen from 2007. The acting is excellent. Pitt is good, but is out-shined by just about everyone. People talk about cinematography, and while I do not claim to know what it is, exactly, I will say that this movie was filmed in such a beautiful, stunning way that "There Will Be Blood' must have been awesome to have taken home the Oscar.
