Fantastic coming-of-age road movie with a neat rock 'n' roll slant. Good, if slightly hokey, story and fantastic soundtrack make for a very entertaining film from Cameron Crowe.
Tim Burton ROCKS! A lovely, slightly over-the-top retelling of the story proving that the Depp/Burton union is a marriage made in Heaven. Terrific fun.
Not entirely accurate account of the legendary Doors rock band. Val Kilmer IS Jim Morrison - a stunning performance. Solid support from Meg Ryan and brilliant songs make this a film for all devotees of Rock history.
Who knew that a gun toting nymphomaniac hippopotamus could be so much fun? A few years on from this film, Peter Jackson would make Lord Of The Rings. Incredible.
A lot of critics mauled Russell Crowe's accent in this movie. At least he tried - inlike dear old Kevin Costner. Beyond that, this is a fine version of the legendary story, with Crowe and Cate Blanchett as two solid leads.
Bette Midler was MADE for this role. Loosely based on Janis Joplin, the Divine Miss M storms through this musical drama. Even after so long (1979) this film is still very pwerful. Great music too.
Ham acting (possibly intentional), a "loopy" plot, psychos, buxom beauties, and the hosing down, then cattle-prodding of a woman with throat cancer in an attempt to stop her smoking...Sick? Sure. Twisted? Certainly. Funny? Hell yes!
"Factional" account of London in 1888 and the notorious Jack The Ripper murders. Ok, it's not historically accurate but the spirit of Victorian London is suitably evoked and Johnny Depp (ably assisted by an ensemble cast) gives a solid, entertaining performance.
Is it a video? Is it a movie? It doesn't matter. It's genius. A great song, expertly envisioned by Landis and performed with consumate ease by Michael Jackson, then at the very top of his game.
Legendary "so bad it's good" movie featuring Bela Lugosi and a stand in TALLER, BLONDER actor who took his place when Lugosi died during filming. Hubcaps as flying saucers are the least of this film's problems!!! Fantastic.
