Here i'm going to write about the 2nd best rated movie in the world(by IMDB) and obviously its a challenge.. Believe me, this is the best story ever told on film..

Tim Robbins plays Andy Dufresne, a young banker who's victimized for killing his wife & her lover due to circumstantial evidences. He revieces a double life sentence & sent to The Shawshank Prison in 1947. In here, he meets Ellis Redding, played by Morgan Freeman. Ellis commonly known as Red, forms an unlikely friendship with Andy. Ellis happens to get amazed by the sense of hope that Andy shows.. And from it's rollar coaster ride..


This is a creative adaptation of the Steven King's Novel, Rita Hayworth & Shawshank redemption. The films success belongs to a marvelously chiseled Screenplay, with every emotions shown in a great detail. Film has a great cast & each character has their own space with great detailing. Frank Darabont needs to be hailed for such extreme detailing & perfection.

Acting was world class. Both Tim Robbins & Morgan Freeman were born to do this movie. Amazingly restrained performances.

But the thing that makes this stand above all other movies, is that it just moves "U", bcoz its completely thought provoking. It has everything- friendship, love, dream, courage, sacrifice & "Hope". Hope is indeed the best thing that can happen to anyone's life. Amazing watch..

I would love to give Shawshank Redemption "*****" star, but u know nothing is perfect !!! :)

Best horror movie i've seen. Amazing achievement in filmmaking and the art of terror. And undoubtedly it's Kubrick's movie. He's the real star. And I love everything he brings to the film. Jack Nicholson's powerful performance as the mad father and husband is as over the top as it is brilliant. A Must see movie . Thisis how horror movies should be.. amazing..

Two Kubricks movie back to back & it was like experiencing masterful & versatile film-making.. I'm now his avid fan..

Set in World War I, Paths of Glory is about the trench war-fare between France & germany.. It's about an impossible assault on a heavily-fortified enemy position by one of the commanding general - who believes this outcome would gain him a promotion..

It is realistically shot & beautifully photographed.. Kirk Douglas as Col. Dax was terrific & the two generals were also fantastic.. The Final court-martial execution was just simply mind-blowing..

Paths of Glory can be rightly be described as one of the greatest anti-war film. Truly a masterpiece..Terrific watch..

grusome movie abt a taxi driver.. violence is his mantra to fight against injustice..

Simple yet a powerful one.. Its amazin to watch a 1957 movie, which is so entertaining & captivatin.. hats of d director to come up with such natural acting from all d 12 jury members.. last word-- intelligent movie making..

This is about a well planned race-track heist involving a group of non-professionals with clean records & picturized from the point of view of these characters with no linearity.. Somethin tht was very innovative for its age..

This movie is way ahead of its time.. Disturbin & dark & brutal.. But a thought provokin one.. I started likin Stanley kubrick.. Deadly camera angles, hauntin music, movin long shots, close up shots of face... A real genius.. Not to forget d amazin actin by malcolm mcdowell too.. worth a watch..

Another stellar movie.. Superbly constructed thriller.. Amazin plot & superb performance from the lead characters.. kevin spacey was too good.. he just blew me away..

Happened to watch this movie yesterday & it's easily one of the best foreign films I have seen.. This one tells the story of life in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, also known as the City of God.

This brazilian movie is about violence, drugs and ultimately gang warfare.. It's fast paced & supremely directed too.. But the best part of the movie belongs to the performances of all the teenages acted in this.. they felt amazingly real.. just brilliant..Hats off to d director..

On the whole, a great gangster movie which is of very highest order.. amazin watch!!!

hilarious movie

Another steller from nagesh kukunoor.. Slightly inspired from Shawshank Redemption, this thriller depicts the life of three convicted murderers & the unavoidable change that happens to them.

Casting was different, but very effective.. Jackie was restrained, naseer war top-notch. Juhi Chawla was always considered to be a under-rated actress, and she was just brilliant in this..

Nagesh kukunoor is too effective, but he is much better as a Director.. Direction was splendid.. Even though the pace was slow, but the story unfolds in a more dramatic way.. Even though i was close enough in guessing the Climax, Ending was really cool..

A great Off-beat movie from a fine story-teller.. Amazing watch..
