Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
A decent film adaptation of a fairly thick book. I accept what was changed as it added to the movie, although it didn't match the book. Perhaps it leaves out some of the actual development of the characters as people but after re-watching the dvd's of the previous 4, it doesn't actually. IMAX definitely was worth the extra bucks.

Under the Tuscan Sun
This is a great feel good film for women of all ages who are feeling disenchanted with life and love. When life throws a curve ball settled down with a good mug of something chocolately and this warm film that shows that most times what we want does happen if we only open our eyes to see.

This is not a movie for everyone. This is not a movie for non-adults (mainly age-wise). This is not a movie for people who can not handle lots of blood and gore and the occasional graphic sex scene. Having got the warnings out of the way, this is a good movie which I thoroughly enjoyed. There is plenty of eye candy for both the guys and girls and I would seriously like to see some of those costumes replicated at the various gaming cons this year. It is graphic but the sepia tones highlighting the red capes do wonders to tone down some of the more bloody scenes. The story-line is certainly predictable, particularly to anyone who has read the graphic novel, but that is not the reason to watch the movie now, it it? It is packed with action, plenty of voice over, stunning scenes, hot nearly naked men and wonderful music. Ah yes, the score ... it doesn't overwhelm the dialogue but perhaps a bit too electronic in some of the battle scenes. This might be a better movie to watch at home for those who feel they may be squeamish from buckets of blood spraying across the screen in spectacular style during the fighting but for those that this is simply part of the excitement - go forth and enjoy!

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End 2007,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
I managed to go see this on pre-release screening last night with my Exalted group and thought it was brilliant. I was held pretty much spell bound for the full 3 hours, which although long for movie wasn't really felt. The opening scene gave me goose-bumps and 50+ Jack Sparrows on one boat is an absolute dream.
More I can't really say without giving too much away but go and watch!

The Jane Austen Book Club
I went in expecting a stupid film and was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the characters and how they related to the 6 books. Some of the ending is predictable but not in a bad way and there are most certainly some new faces to keep an eye out for.

Another for my collection. Classic period chic flick where love wins out despite many misleading first impressions. Good to restore one's faith in love, romance and relationships.

The Holiday 2006,  PG-13)
The Holiday
This is a good chick flick released at just the right time and is a fun watch for both couples who want to remember what falling in love was like and singles who need to be reminded that love can happen anywhere, anytime if you just let it.
The acting was good. It was great to see Jack Black in a more serious role and Cameron Diaz was not as ditzy as she usually comes across. Kate Winslet was just delightful as the jilted Brit chick and Jude Law playing her brother reminded me so much of the Brit lads I really know it was uncanny.
This movie is in my DVD collection for frequent watching.

In Her Shoes
Siblings fight but always remain loyal despite the distance and this film highlights that so beautifully as well as being a great chic flick for those days when we are battling to see our place in the world.

Interesting but long winded and not for those who have never been faced with writer's block and the urge to write.
