"About three things I was absolutely positive: First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him-and I didn't know how dominant that part might be-that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."Love it!
A pleasure from start to finish.Clive Owen, what a superb actor! He is so clam, smooth, and elegant in this movie!Unlike most movies I have seen in the bank robbery genre, this one stands out as a bit more creative and unpredictable. While you may think you know exactly what's going on, don't be fooled--you don't. It keeps you interested with unique twists and interesting character development!Go see it!
This is a good movie. Less action than many war movies and less thought than some political dramas. There are good and bad people of all races. There's tension and there are explosions and gunfire. There is ample opportunity to reflect on what mankind is capable of doing to each other for political reasons.
Reasons to see the movie: - Great acting. Anthony Hopkins makes a classic role as the US army officer gone anarchist father. Brad Pitt is perfect in the role as the wild one with an indian "stepfather". Aidan Quinn makes another great performance, and Julia Ormond is very good as the (tragic) woman they all long for. - The scenery. Magic. - The camera work. - The story. - A number of very, very good scenes. - The anarchistic attitude. - The character Tristan Ludlow. - The character William Ludlow. - The emotional ride.
Reasons to NOT see the movie: - You will be called a pathetic romantic if you like it. And you will most probably like it...
I can easily say that I had some great laughs in this movie! The whole moral of the movie is something both guys and women can you relate to, and some scenes are just hilarious for all types of audiences!Gerard Butler gives an excellent performance, both funny and charming.
It's an excellent movie. I even saw it twice and I laughed a lot. I totally understand why many love this movie, but some really think it's a crap. If you want to see a serious comedy, you won't like this one because it's very absurd. I mean how can two black guys transform into two white chicks and nobody sees the difference. The plot is very unreal, something you won't see in the real life, but if you pass over this things you'll see one of the best comedies. The acting is great, the plot is very entertaining so I recommend this movie to everyone who wants to laugh a lot and enjoy a great comedy.
This has to be the greatest musical of all time. An amazing musical score and stunning choreography, no home should be without a copy of this timeless classic!
Although Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey absolutely hated each other throughout the making of this film, they possess a beautiful chemistry on the set.. it makes the viewer enjoy it that much more, to see this passion and commitment.. and I can't help tearing up a tiny bit at the end, when Patrick comes up to the Houseman family and tells her dad, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner". (classic moment)DIRTY DANCING WILL FOREVER LIVE ON AS A TIMLESS CLASSIC!The soundtrack is fantastic, an absolute masterpiece !
Point Break is one of those films that everybody loves, but that nobody actually talks about all that often. It is a film that if you mention it in conversation, everyone else around is bound to say how much they enjoyed it.
If you haven't seen the movie yet, don't judge it by the ratings! It's a simple plot but there's something about it that makes it a seriously enjoyable film and one you can watch time and time again.
From time to time I like watching such movies! It's relaxing and a good laugh always makes you forget about everything else. One of the best parodies of all time!
This is real romance!'Before Sunrise' is simply the story of two strangers bound in Vienna's lonely night splendour - one night of love in all its glory, one superb piece of film making.
. Great woman, cool scenes and of course the cars! The cars were the best thing in the movie. I think that Cage and Jolie performed brillantly; as well as the whole cast. There was humor, excited, shooting.
"..it's still the same old story, a fight for love and glory, a case of do or die, the world will always welcome lovers, As Time Goes By."We'll Always Have Casablanca!
Are you watching closely? "Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called "The Pledge". The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course... it probably isn't. The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige"." This was an amazing movie!
A perfect cast and terrific story make this a very tense and thrilling ride through the mind of a madman, who may just hold the secret to remove the illusions we all have.
" Gotta wonder, though. What kind of bastard must I have been, that nobody was there to claim me? I mean, I'm... I'm not the most charming guy in the world, so I've been told, but... nobody? "
It is interesting, nuanced, well photographed and directed. The casting is very fitting: Joaquin Phoenix, Gwyneth Paltrow and Isabella Rossellini require no introduction !I love Joaquin Phoenix
That wasn't bad at all!!Very good story, excellent crime movie plot, unexpected turnings: this film has all that a film needs in order to be entertaining!
"You cannot say to the sun, "More sun." Or to the rain, "Less rain." To a man, geisha can only be half a wife. We are the wives of nightfall. And yet, to learn kindness after so much unkindness, to understand that a little girl with more courage than she knew, would find her prayers were answered, can that not be called happiness? After all these are not the memoirs of an empress, nor of a queen. These are memoirs of another kind."
" She paints her face to hide her face. Her eyes are deep water. It is not for Geisha to want. It is not for geisha to feel. Geisha is an artist of the floating world. She dances, she sings. She entertains you, whatever you want. The rest is shadows, the rest is secret.""A story like mine should never be told..." but it was a pleasure to hear it!!
One of the best films ever made! If you're a romantic at heart, and can appreciate a film without the standard happy endings and simple moral codes, you may find that 'The English Patient' speaks directly to you! "Every night I cut out my heart. But in the morning it was full again"
The entire ensemble was a great cast; well chosen. It was hard at times to catch your breath between gags; some predicable of course but a great feel good movie. It was great to see the Travolta family together in a happy situation.
Performances are perfect. Jeremy Renner is excellent as Sergeant James, who loves the rush of disarming bombs, even if it means putting his fellow soldiers at risk. Overall it is a unique war movie but it is not the best war movie ever or the best movie of the year for that matter.
Its message is a simple one in that the best things in life are not always around the corner but have to be worked for and earned for the greatest fulfilment.
This is probably one of the most beautiful and romantic films I have ever seen! From the relationship of the two characters to their surroundings, every scene is breathtaking! The Notebook tells the story of a summer romance that turns into a romance never to be forgotten. Allie and Noah are the two lead characters and they are wonderful
my favorite pirate is back!!...this movie got everything from comedy, action, adventure and the most important: Jack Sparrow...."There should be a "Captain" in there somewhere!"
