5	Finding Neverland 2004, PG) I love this film; it's really moving and Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet are very good. Moreover, Freddie Highmore is one of the best child actors I've ever seen. I recommend this to everyone!

8	Girl, Interrupted 1999, R) A very good film, although it has some quite harrowing parts. Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie are both amazing as the lead roles.
9	Good Bye, Lenin 2002, R)
10	The Others 2001, PG-13) This is a very atmospheric film and I loved the suspense and the tension of it. I didn't find it extremely scary, but it is quite thrilling and Nicole Kidman is excellent.
11	Far From Heaven 2002, PG-13)
12	Rabbit-Proof Fence 2002, PG) This is one of the most moving films I've ever seen.
13	Hotel Rwanda 2004, PG-13)
14	The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001, PG-13) A very good movie, for people who like fantasy. It's a shame that Orlando Bloom is in it, because he cannot act to save his life, but nevertheless this is one of my favourite films.
15	The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002, PG-13) In many ways this second part of the LOTR trilogy is better than the first, thanks to the Rohirrim, Gollum, and the Helm's Deep battle scene.
16	The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003, PG-13) I think this final part of the LOTR trilogy is the best one. Although they did miss out the Scouring of the Shire, this film is very good. Sean Astin is a truly brilliant actor, and the same can definitely be said for Bernard Hill.

25	I Capture the Castle 2003, R) An enjoyable film about an eccentric English family.. Bill Nighy and Romola Garai are very good in this. I have yet to read the book.

30	Howl's Moving Castle 2005, PG) A very beautiful movie, this is one of my all time favourites. The drawings are amazing, the plot is crazy and the characters feel very real but at the same time very unreal. This is a truly magical movie; comic, but at the same time extremely moving.
31	Spirited Away 2001, PG) Everyone should see this film - it's a masterpiece.
32	Princess Mononoke (Mononoke-hime) 1999, PG-13) This film is, as with all of Miyazaki's films that I've so far had the pleasure of watching, an absolute work of art. Very gripping, partly because of the storyline, but also because of the visual beauty of the animations. I recommend this to anyone who likes a good adventure story or who likes Hayao Miyazakis work. And if you don't fit into either of these categories, I still recommend it - you'll be blown away.

35	Monsters, Inc. 2001, G) Original, inventive, funny and also very moving. If I ever have a niece, I want her to be just like Boo.
36	Fantasia 1940, G) Fantasia is incredible and I enjoyed every minute of it. The music and the animations fit together so well and they're both such works of art.

42	The White Balloon (Badkonake sefid) 1995, Unrated) Maybe kids should be watching this kinda stuff instead of American trash like, dare I mention it, High School Musical. Seriously, though, this is a really good film.
43	Modern Times 1936, G) Extremely funny, and a must-see for all Chaplin fans and really for anyone who claims that they like comedy but still hasn't seen this classic.
44	The Great Dictator 1940, G) Excellent - one of Chaplin's funniest movies.

47	Pride and Prejudice , Unrated) I think this film really captures the essence of Jane Austen's novel. The settings are beautiful, the characters are well cast, and the dialogue is left intact. A very good adaptation.
48	Pride and Prejudice 2005, PG) Kiera Knightley is very good as the heroine, however Matthew MacFadyen just wasn't right for Darcy's character. This film is exteremely corny in places, but Donald Sutherland's unique portrayal of Mr Bennett more than compensates. Tom Hollander is also very funny as Mr Collins. An excellentmovie overall and I strongly recommend it!
49	Sense and Sensibility 1995, PG) This is a brilliant adaptation of Austen's novel and I recommend it to everyone! Emma Thompson is perfectly cast and so are Kate Winslet and Alan Rickman. Hugh Grant's acting is possibly the one flaw in this almost perfect film, but don't worry, he's quite easy to ignore. The soundtrack to this film is also very good, expecially the theme for the particularly moving scenes with Marianne.

51	North & South 2005, Unrated) This is an excellent adaptation of Gaskell's novel. Richard Armitage is perfect as Thornton and Daniela Denby-Ashe is a brilliant actress. If you like the book, then you'll like this.

59	To Kill A Mockingbird 1962, Unrated) Was good, but slightly overrated, I feel. Gregory Peck was amazing; he really stole the show. The book was much better, I think, so if you liked the film then I recommend the novel. Even if you don't like the film, I still recommend it. And the film missed out lots of crucial scenes e.g. Jem and Scout going to Cal's church, which is, I think, the only scene with black people being racist towards whites rather than vice versa. They also missed out Boo's ONLY line, which is a bit ridiculous. However, it was a good film in its own right, and pretty true to the book in that it doesn't actually change anything very important. I do recommend it, but it's probably better to read the book first.
60	The Importance of Being Earnest 2002, PG) Absolutely hilarious, with a ridiculous plot and an assembly of comical characters, who, by the way, are very well cast. All in all, a very good adaptation of Wilde's play.

63	Gone With the Wind 1939, G) Powerful and intense, this is melodrama at its best. Clark Gable plays his part to perfection, and so does Vivien Leigh, who portrays a very interesting character. A must-see for anyone who claims they like films, and still hasn't seen this!

65	Brief Encounter 1945, Unrated) Is there any point writing about this movie because anything I say has already been said before. Amazingly romantic, moving, etc. but WITHOUT being sentimental, and the chemistry between the lead roles is incredible.

67	The Big Sleep 1946, PG) Great film! Exciting, well acted and funny in parts. Bogart and Bacall are great in it.

71	12 Angry Men (Twelve Angry Men) 1957, Unrated) A riveting film - and now the Hancock take-off is even funnier.
72	Pygmalion 1938, Unrated) I actually liked Leslie Howard in this film, unlike Intermezzo and Gone with the Wind, in which I found him pretty annoying. Anyway, this is a really good adaptation of Shaw's play.
73	Intermezzo 1939, Unrated) A pretty good film.. interesting to see Bergman's Hollywood debut.. she's not at her best.. but I like this movie, despite the ending.

75	The Seven Year Itch 1955, Unrated) Very good film. Tom Ewell's daydreams are hilarious and Marilyn Monroe is just perfection.
76	Some Like It Hot 1959, Unrated) Hilarious! Marilyn Monroe's great in this, although not as funny as in The Seven Year Itch. Lemmon and Curtis are excellent, though.

80	Arsenic and Old Lace 1944, Unrated) Absolutely side-splittingly hilarious! Cary Grant is just an amazing actor. Oh, and Teddy Roosevelt is one of the funniest characters in any film.
81	All About Eve 1950, PG) This is one of my favourite films ever. Bette Davis is incredible - such a complex character but extremely well played. Anne Baxter is also excellent - she plays her character well enough to manipulate the viewer as well as the people around her. Amazing movie! Hilarious, classy and thought-provoking. I strongly recommend it!
