1	2001: A Space Odyssey 1968, G) The best movie of all time. Challenging story, breathtaking cinematography, astounding music.
2	Il fiore delle mille e una notte (Flower of the Arabian Nights) (Arabian Nights) 1974, NC-17) Dreamlike and haunting, like the original tales themselves.
3	Evil Dead 2 1987, R) The wildest horror ride, full of energy, ideas and humour. Top of my horror list.
4	Rak haeng Siam (The Love of Siam) 2007, Unrated)
5	The 7th Voyage of Sinbad 1958, G) A classic of stop-motion animation, Ray Harryhausen in top form.
6	Akira 1988, R) A mindbending story and excellent animation - a Japanese classic.
7	The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Il Buono, il Brutto, il Cattivo.) 1966, R) A classic of storytelling and pacing. American Westerns were never like this.
8	Fantasia 1940, G) Disney animation at its best, every frame is a painting. Great concepts, lovingly executed.
9	Saw 2004, R) Just when you thought there could be nothing new in horror films, along comes James Wan. Amazingly original.
