Very possibly the greatest baseball movie ever made. I say this in the wake of Field of Dreams and, my personal least favorite, the Rookie without regret. Charming and wonderful, The Sandlot has to be watched again and again...and again...for-ev-er...
"Hit me!" This film will do just that. Much like the fantastic Chuck Palahniuk novel it is derived from, this movie will bludgeon you over the head until you are rendered unconscious with fascination and amazement.
Completely off-beat and wonderful. You leave the film with a great love and compassion for the characters, and realize that maybe they really aren't that far off base after all.
A great adaptation from the book series and original UK version. It gives a classic story a tolerable update, and is a must-see for any quirky humorist or sci-fi lover.
This movie is like a classic detective story with a modern setting. Brendan is the kind of character I wish I'd written and one you get to know better than anyone else within the first five minutes of the film. You know his habits and exactly what he'll do before he does it. You find yourself fighting for the truth right along side him and other charming characters that make this movie impossible to forget.
Some cheesiness, but overall an extremely awesome. As for the killings? One word: toilet. Ok maybe that's not enough to explain it. Hm. Just watch the movie and you'll understand. Greatest way to kill someone...ever.
If you've read the book, be prepared, not for disappointment of the lack of similarities, but rather be prepared for a completely new story; a story that does not disrupt the pre-existing book, but rather is enjoyable as its own entity
This film left me absolutely speechless. There is something inexplicable identifiable in this film that prepares you to abandon all conventions and societal restraints. A beautiful film guaranteed to move you in a way you did not think possible.
No matter how many times I see this film, it continues to become better and better. Something to be said for multiple viewings. This film should be watched in the company of great friends who don't mind it when you sing along with the fantastic scenes.
