Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)
Pan's Labyrinth
This is the best Spanish film that I have ever seen, although I have not seen many. It was a fairy tale developed in a difficult and cruel environment. In fact, I think the whole fairy tale was all in the imagination of the little girl, who tried to escape her suffering making up that world, where she was a Princess.
Effects are awesome, story line is just perfect, this is not something like hollywood, is better than that. I personally loved it, and the ending was so realistic and strong. I recommend it to everyone.

Imagine Me & You 2005,  R)
Imagine Me & You
An unconventional but touching love story. Started watching it with no interest but got involved with the characters throughout the movie. Perabo and Headey make it work on screen, they create this atmosphere where you feel only love, not caring if they're the same sex or not. Makes you feel like it's a real story.

The Fifth Element 1997,  PG-13)
The Fifth Element
The message this movie has is very beautiful and eye-opening.
When it comes to visual effects, it feels so different to have seen it back in 1997, than seeing it now. Future stuff doesn't seem so future now, but it was well organized and well directed. Aliens are not of my taste, but I guess we're speaking of the whole UNIVERSE here. The fact that there is a Supreme Being such as Leeloo who is absolutely perfect makes this interesting. Again, nice message for the human race.

V for Vendetta 2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
Very interesting, well written, well acted, well directed. Some might think it was too politically based, but it's just reality. How things might get, and how we still have time to do things right. Definitely one of my favorites, Hugo Weaving does a fantastic job, it was so fulfilling just hearing him talk.

The Sound of Music 1965,  G)

Mystic River 2003,  R)
Mystic River
Once more i am thrilled by one of Eastwood's films. Definitely a piece of art, Sean Penn does a GREAT performance, I definitely fell in love with the way he owns his character in this film, i could feel his pain. Robbins and Bacon are very good as well and never disappointing.
The plot is a bit tangled but well done, at a point it definitely tells you everything that is about to happen.
Two thumbs up!

I just saw this movie today and let me tell you that it was more than I expected, especially beacause I don't really like war movies. Too many men, only one woman, but it was still entartaining. The battle scenes were the best, they were so well shot and the parts of slow motion were great for better appreciation. All the blood wasn't as nasty as in other movies. My particular favorite part was when the Queen spoke in front of the counsil. Narration was a bit slow, but it was good enough. What I didn't like about this flix, was the touch of fantasy it had, computer-like wolf, huge king, fake creatures, it all made it lost the reality of it, it's history we're talking about. But it was good.

X-Men 2000,  PG-13)

The Devil Wears Prada 2006,  PG-13)
The Devil Wears Prada
Meryl Streep has become one of my favorite actresses after watching this film and Prime. I haven't seen many of her movies but she definitely lived her role in this one. I can see why she got nominated for the 14th time to the Oscars. The storyline is no great achievement, but this movie is very enjoyable, funny and sweet. At the end it makes you decide whether you would give up everything for a so called "dream job".

A Good Year 2006,  PG-13)
A Good Year
Nice story line. I felt it lacked something, but the chemistry between Crow and Cotillard worked great for me! Shots are merely ok, nothing great about that.
29
The Holiday 2006,  PG-13)
The Holiday
Narration by Winslet was just great, I could never get tired of listening to her speak (I definitely love British accent). The plot is interesting in a way, but the typical happy ending is a must in these kind of films. Performances by the 4 main actors was good, it was kind of weird Black being kind of romantic, but it was acceptable.
Although the story behind Law's character was a bit TOO unreal, him being the perfect guy, but it was a sweet one.
At some point it got just a bit boring, and I felt it was a LONG movie. It has its good and bad.
