Across the Universe
I have to admit, after watching it again for the second time I enjoyed it much more. The film itself takes you onto this beautiful journey, literally. The singing worked well; it wasn't too much to where you got sick and tired of it. There were many interesting characters in it as well. Definitely worth a watch!! I'm adding this to my favorites list.

(500) Days of Summer
Different from what I expected to be, but so much more. I'm a total Tom and watching their relationship made me understand relationships in general much more; specifically my own and I'm pretty sure it'll do the same for others who have been in similar situations. Very unique and realistic; THIS IS NOT A LOVE STORY. THIS IS A STORY ABOUT LOVE. Levitt and Deschanel worked very well together; they were adorable as a couple. A definite keeper when it comes out on DVD.

The Outsiders 1983,  PG)
The Outsiders
Classic! Loved both the book and movie!

I rented this movie again after not seeing it for years and because my boyfriend has never seen it. I realized even more why I love it so much; it was beautifully shot, especially when Pony Boy and Johnny were at the abandoned church and they were talking about the sunset.

"Stay gold, Pony Boy, stay gold." - Johnny

Ed Norton is so hot in this movie...but that's not the reason why I love it. It touches such a sensitive topic and done so well that it gives me goosebumps.

Let the Right One In 2008,  R)
Let the Right One In
This was something unexpected. I probably wouldn't have heard about it if it weren't for my bf. He came upon the trailer online a few days ago and read a synopsis of it and since nothing good came out last weekend, we decided to go watch this. It's subtitled, so if that's not your thing then maybe you shouldn't go watch it.

I personally don't mind subtitles at all. They are usually really good, such films as, The Orphanage and Pans Labyrinth.

I would have to say, this film is almost like Twilight, the vampire love story, but with a twist. Instead of a male vampire, it's a female vampire and a boy who falls in love with her. It's also more gory and disturbing. I thought it was pretty sick, so if blood is not your thing, don't go watch it! A few scenes made me jump and cringe, but, it really was a love story at the same time.

Enjoy!

Twilight
BEAUTIFUL!!!...I WANT A VAMPIRE BOYFRIEND!! LOL

revised - I saw it for the second time and more in love with it than I was the first time...I know how everyone says it doesn't compare to the book, but, I never read the book, so, I have nothing to compare it to, which I like. So, stop crying and whining you little bitches!

The Wrestler 2008,  R)
The Wrestler
This movie was so good! I've never really watched Mickey Rourke in a leading role before and he was awesome as Randy "The Ram" Robinson. =) Marisa Tomei was also great in this. Even though Evan Rachel Wood had only a few scenes, they were powerful as well. My favorite scene was the one with Rourke and Wood...that father and daughter scene was just touching. My eyes got all watery, I had to lift my head up a little so they wouldn't fall. =)

Another scene I liked was when he was working in the deli. lol I love humor in a serious film. Great mix.

Go support this great film! <3

Paranormal Activity 2007,  R)
Paranormal Activity
The first time I saw this trailer, I jumped to the website and demanded it...also posted it on various websites for others to bring this film nationwide. I'm a total horror freak, so anything paranormal, I must watch. I missed the screening a few weekends before, but thankfully, it did open nationwide last weekend.

A young couple is trying to figure out what is going on in their home as they hear footsteps at night and pounding noises through the walls. The boyfriend, Micah, goes out and buys a video camera to shoot them as they sleep and around the home during the day as to figure out what's really going on. Turns out, the girlfriend, Katie, has a long history of experiencing weirdness since she was a child of 8. As the movie progresses, so does the activity.

Like many others, I left the theater with chills. This film sticks to your mind even way after you've watched it. What's creepy is, when my boyfriend and I went to bed, I couldn't stop thinking about this movie! The makers of this film make its viewers feel like it can happen to them! No lie, I hardly slept last night. I haven't been that scared of a movie in a LONG LONG time.

Avatar 2009,  PG-13)
Avatar
First off let me say, I knew this was supposed to be a big movie, yet I really paid no attention to it. Even in the trailers, I only remember seeing blue people. As soon as the film started, I was intrigued with what was going on. The visuals were fantastic! As the film went on, I knew this was going to become one of my favorites. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a film. =) Highly recommend it.

Teenage Dirtbag 2009,  Unrated)
Teenage Dirtbag
Two high school students who couldn't be any different from one another are able to "speak" through their writing and some how have some sort of relationship while hardly ever speaking to one another.

I really love this movie!! Captivating and you feel for both characters, at least I did anyway. It was clever to have creative writing as part of the movie; I got sucked in bad. Great performances and just an interesting story.

Cast Away 2000,  PG-13)
Cast Away
Cast Away has to be one of my new favorite movies. I've only seen it three or four times, but each time I can't ever seem to control my emotions when it gets towards the end.
42
Remember Me 2010,  PG-13)
Remember Me
Dark and romantic. Like everyone else, I was expecting something big in the end and wow...very shocking. Robert Pattinson was great in here, totally different from his well known character. I also thought every actor played their part well. Loved the chemistry between Pattinson and De Ravin. Very sad ending.

A Lot Like Love 2005,  PG-13)
A Lot Like Love
It's about a boy and a girl who meet on a flight from LA to NY. Ashton plays Oliver a goal oriented guy who thinks he'll have everything he wants in the next 6 years if he works hard for it and Amanda Peet plays Emily, the girl who is supposed to call him after 6 years to find out if everything he aimed for really happened. Throughout the next 6 years or so they meet up here and there in different stages of their lives.

I LOVE this movie, maybe because I can relate to it in a way. It's about always the wrong timing with a certain someone in your life and finding a way to make it work. I enjoyed how they started off with the past, the years in between, and into the present. I'm usually not a fan of Ashton Kutcher movies, but he did well in here and wasn't annoying. The characters also had great chemistry, which really made it work.
