Great fights, melt of japanese cartoons with movie, the movie has an extraordinary esthetic in this fusion of kithc, cartooms, and melted beautiful with ugly images and scenes.
You had Keanu, the lovely fiance/husband, with all the attributes to be the great hero... But Francis made that Dracula, nevermind if it appeared as a beast, as handsome Lord, as an old and ugly Count... you felt in love with his role. The emotion Francis could generate around him made his "soul in love" coverd any kind of phisic appearence. That was great. The role of Dracul was really amazing, you could finish loving that horrible final image forgetting the image you saw but concentrating on the "soul" of Dracul's role. Incredible
..."sharing almost human feelings!!!!"... (the trial part). Don't feel good enough to make a review of this... feel it as en erethic thing... The movie is so, so good...
Oh, Captain My Captain!!! The first movie I remember has made me think about it... about the meanings... an icon for my "movie life story".... (Still joking with this exclamation when a situation has to do with it...)
Ok, I know it, it hasn't got THE argument, but it's just so fantastic Al Pacino and De Niro acting together... when they were having a coffee... it was like they were enjoying the role play! The Police (the good one) is these kind of police you don't sympathise very much, the thief, is this kind of thieves you love and want them "to win"... See it just to see them act together!
Have to admit, I'm extremely anxious and had to close my eyes each time temperature turned down when I saw it on the cinema, :-D. Just Excellent, til now my friends and I stil joke with that phrase: "I see that people". Best of all, i got really surprised with the final... I didn't even imagine what it was happening till almost the final part... Excellent!!!
A perfect movie to show the change of paradigm from "Middle Age" (I mean "Edad Media", in speacial final part of The Gothique) and The Renaissance. Don'f forget who wrote the book: H. Eco! This movie shows in a very, very clear way the opposites forces in many aspects from this particular momento of history. You've got the phylosphy part, remember Edad Media was form Aristóteles while Renaissance was the uncoming from Platon. Here it is shawn ho the knowledge is used to keep a paradigm, although it must be made by hiding it. (Doesn't it sounds contemporary). You can see the opposite forces also through the secular and regular orders in Catholic Church -imperant system of power in this historic moment-. Sean Connery role's perfectly shows the beginning of the science and rationally arguments which started to ask for open knowledge, the self inner question in each history moment of break start to appear bit by bit on different minds before the point of break is represented on him -and he act perfectly this role-. It's also a great pretext to take some Art History lessons... the Middle Age features are clearly shown in a typical romanic Monastery, also showing the history moment of Feudalism, when the monastery was the Feudalist to whom the feudals had to pay their taxes. Many things to show, and many things well shown. And what's more interesting, besides it can be used as a "documental" to show this history moment on occidental life, it has a wonderful argument that makes you income the information without notice the "lessons" while the story catch you.
