The book is incredible and so is the movie. The beginning credits are captivating with the transition of the civilized boys in the classroom to the over powering barbarism of WW II with the lulling and then truculent sounds of drums. Also, the cinematography is prime, not flashy and it emanates such realism throughout the film. I think Golding would be very pleased with this adaptation of his highly regarded novel. |
