10
Taxidermia 2005,  Unrated)
Taxidermia
Surrealistic grotesque at its best. The movie is a collection of the most disgusting images in the world. Do not watch it unless you consider yourself as being extremely fond of extremely bin tai movies!
11
The Shawshank Redemption 1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
Very touching, heartwarming and inspring. It's like the prison version of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. :)
12
La Strada (The Road) 1954,  PG)
La Strada (The Road)
Beautiful movie... moving and very powerful. The enmeshed relationships of the characters are very well portrayed.
13
The Silence 1963,  Unrated)
The Silence
BRILLIANT. People say this is a very abstract movie that are suitable for only sophisticated viewers... which I disagree. The theme of loneliness and emotional distance is portrayed in such a powerful, beautiful and meticulous way that it won't get unnoticed, despite its subtlety. I wanna watch this again!!!
14
The Shining 1980,  R)
The Shining
It's not as good as the book, but it's just because the book is overly brilliant. Jack Nicholson is such a great actor - he looked really insane in the movie!
15
The Piano Teacher (La Pianiste) 2001,  R)
The Piano Teacher (La Pianiste)
Sophisticated, shocking, and terrifying... you've got to watch the movie because words cannot adequately describe its powerful emotional impact on the audience. Good choices of actors and actresses... Isabelle Huppert was great in the movie and Benoit Magimel was super charming.
16
The Seventh Seal (Det Sjunde inseglet) 1957,  Unrated)
The Seventh Seal (Det Sjunde inseglet)
Probably the most beautiful and poetic movie by Bergman. EXCELLENT!
17
The Magician (Ansiktet) (The Face) 1958,  Unrated)
The Magician (Ansiktet) (The Face)
After viewing several movies with the theme of faith by Bergman, it seems that I can now see his hidden messages more easily! Or maybe, you simply need some background to understand the theme of this movie. Anyway, this movie is unique as there's dark humour in it, unlike many other depressing and heartbreaking movies by Bergman. And I am more and more in love with Max von Sydow... :P
18
Babettes Gæstebud (Babette's Feast) 1987,  G)
Babettes Gæstebud (Babette's Feast)
Awesome movie... it in many ways reminds of the movies by Ingmar Bergman.
19
Die Blechtrommel (The Tin Drum) 1979,  R)
Die Blechtrommel (The Tin Drum)
A bizarre surrealistic movie that is just wonderful and unforgettable! It should be mentioned in any cinematography text book for its brilliant use of symbolism!
20
Toy Story 3 2010,  G)
Toy Story 3
Love this movie crazily! I hope Pixar will continue to make more heartwarming, good-natured movies like this.
21
Bakjwi (Thirst) 2009,  R)
Bakjwi (Thirst)
Bin tai but gap... another wicked movie by Park Chan Wook!
22
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2009,  PG)
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
The usual story formula: a kid who aspires to do something great but is teased by everybody --> decides to prove himself after he has grown up and finally makes a bold move --> success --> everyone loves him and he becomes famous --> then he has become a different person who ignores any opinions against him --> finally makes wrong decision --> catastrophe --> he realizes he was wrong and bravely takes up the responsibility of saving the world --> danger danger danger --> mission succeeded --> happy ending!! Though a kid can predict the ending when the story is half way through, I LOVE THIS MOVIE! It's a funny movie that will delight anyone! And you just can't possibly find a cuter and more delicious movie. :9 The ice cream snow is really unforgettable~~~~~~

Le Notti di Cabiria (Nights of Cabiria) 1957,  Unrated)
Le Notti di Cabiria (Nights of Cabiria)
A beautifully tragic story about a prostitute who was desperate for love. A classic Fellini movie!
24
12 Angry Men (Twelve Angry Men) 1957,  Unrated)
12 Angry Men (Twelve Angry Men)
A real classic. Through the heated discussion of the jurors on a murder case, the audience are inspired to reflect on their own views of truth and justice. And it's because of this movie I come to understand the meaning of "reasonable doubt" better :)
