The Breakfast Club 1985,  R)
The Breakfast Club
My very favorite of all the John Hughes films, and of the 80's for that matter. I can quote you lines from this one like it's 'Rocky Horror'! the clique themes in this film still ring true today.

Rock Star 2001,  R)
Rock Star
OMG I love this movie! The music takes me back to my heyday. It is so much fun, and Mark Wahlberg is fantastic.
3
Pulp Fiction 1994,  R)
Pulp Fiction
What can I say about 'Pulp Fiction'? It's a masterpiece. I still need to get that wallet that says 'Bad Mother Fucker' on it and go get a Royale with Cheese! This one is also like a cult film to me...so many recitable quotes!

9/11 2002,  Unrated)
9/11
If you see ANY 9/11 film...this is the one you should see. This film started as a documentary by two French filmmakers on one of the 'probies' of the FDNY. This film contains the only footage of the FIRST plane hitting the towers, then rides along with the first FDNY unit on the scene INSIDE the towers. It is gripping, terrifying, and very sad, and we have made a pilgrimage to watch it on the anniversary every year. Do NOT miss this film
5
Legends of the Fall 1994,  R)
Legends of the Fall
This is a true epic film. Covering decades of time, the film follows one family living in Montana. Sounds boring, doesn't it? It's not. Long picture, but it will keep you riveted. And Brad Pitt as Tristan...oh lord...cmon ladies, you know....
6
American History X 1998,  R)

We must have paused this movie 20 times to discuss what was said or what was happening. Watch this with your friends...a real chat starter. You will never forget it.

The Long Kiss Goodnight 1996,  R)
The Long Kiss Goodnight
This is just a really fun action pic. Geena Davis is brilliant as Charlie, an assasin with amnesia. When she regains her memory, Samuel L, Jackson is there to help. I will never forget "DIE SCREAMING MOTHER FUCKER!!"

A Knight's Tale
My hubby's favorite film - very funny, great rock soundtrack - the movie tells of a young man not born into royalty that wishes to joust. He gets his wish when his liege dies and he takes on his persona. You will recognize many different actors in this film from other roles. SO many funny parts in this film, and it rocks out - loved it!

R.I. P. - Heath Ledger - you were a fine actor, and will be sorely missed...

Sicko
This movie was AMAZING, and very enlightening. I work in the healthcare industry, and I encounted a LOT of what Moore talks about with the insurance companies and their lack of compassion or understanding. It doesn't help that I have to speak to foreigners when I call them either. This movie will make you want to move to FRANCE, believe it or not. And our government's dismissal of treatment on 9/11 volunteers is just disgraceful. A MUST SEE.

Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)

Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor) 2004,  R)
Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor)
From Russia with love, 'Night Watch' tells us of the eternal battle of the dark (Night) and the light (Day), the vamps, the changelings...this suprisingly good Russian film has done so well with this film and the second (Day Watch) that the third will actually be dubbed in English, yay!

Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price 2005,  R)
Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price
THIS IS A MUST SEE FOR ANYONE WHO SHOPS AT WAL-MART - from the destruction of the small town shop owner, the horrid treatment of employees (esp. those seeking a union), to the workers in China and Bangladesh (yes folks, not made in the USA anymore), this film will open your eyes to this capitalist, monopolizing giant pig of a corporation. It is emabarassing for me to say I am a former employee myself.
