This movie is a great trip through a tumultuous time in a young girl's life. Girl, Interrupted pretty successfully captures what it must've been like to be young in the sixties and in search of yourself. Winona Ryder does a fantastic job, but is nearly blown off the screen by the amazing Angelina Jolie. Jolie is lovable one minute, and completely disgusting the next.
Kiera Knightly Rocked In This Movie!!! Plus This Movie Was Based On A True Story About Domino Harvey She Died Few Days After Tha Movie Was Made. But Still A Good Movie.
Blow" portrays the life and times of George Jung, a real-life drug dealer. George Jung is played masterfully by Johnny Depp. This film is far from perfect but it certainly captures the time of the 70's and 80's growth of cocaine in the US.
brilliant movie!
Amazing...Incredibly Moving...A MUST See. If there was any doubt about Adam Sandler's acting abilities this movie answers that question. Standler is AMAZING in this film. A different side I have never thought possible to see in him as an actor. This movie is about a man who lost his ENTIRE family in one of the planes that hit the towers on 9/11. Difficult to watch at time due to the raw emotions expressed and felt. A man forced to deal with reality that his family is gone. This brings a more sureal look at what most people are going through even still in the aftermath of this horrendous tragedy. I recommend this to anyone who truly would want to scratch the surface of what it must be like to loose someone close without warning. Make sure you have plenty of tissues and maybe even a shoulder to cry on.
I remember when the first Tim Burton film "Batman" came out and Jack Nicholson played the part of The Joker so well, that I never thought in a million years he would be upstaged by anyone else in that role. How wrong I was. In this latest entry into the Batman franchise, The Joker brings new menace to the city of Gotham with his dark and sadistic moral choices inflicted upon our hero, Gotham's finest and the citizens of Gotham themselves. With no regard for his own life, The Joker wants nothing more than to bring the city to its knees by placing them into situations where even the brightest and most noble of them becomes an ugly monster...a shell of his former self. And that is District Attorney Harvey Dent (played effectively by Aaron Eckhart). As Batman does his best to serve the city, he realizes that he is not a true hero...but a means to an end. And to most effectively serve the city, he becomes whatever they need the most at the time...whether it be hero or villain. Heath Ledger's performance in this film is simply awesome and award worthy in my opinion. Every time he occupied the silver screen, I was glued...I was riveted. "The Dark Knight" transcends any comic book movie I have seen to date, and in fact really is not a comic movie at all. It is filmmaking at is finest, and an instant classic.
I'm a fan of the first three Saw films. I was slightly disappointed with the fourth, due in part to its disregard of "the rules" established in the earlier movies. I'm happy to say, as a horror fan and a fan of the Saw franchise, that Saw V is a big step back in the right direction. While the script suffers slightly from too much exposition; it is intriguing from beginning to end with an ending (don't worry, I won't give it away) that is possibly the most haunting finale to any film -- definitely the most haunting finale to any film in the Saw franchise.
Spectacularly quirky and delightfully creepy, Coraline is like Alice in Wonderland meets Nightmare Before Christmas. Instead of falling down a rabbit hole, Coraline crawls into a tunnel located behind a locked doorway while exploring her new house, and discovers a kid's utopia version of her own life, where her workaholic parents have morphed into a fun-loving pair who cater to her every whim and desire. And she can stay in this world forever, if she will sew buttons over her eyes. Yup, this is where the creepy part comes in.
