Taxi Driver 1976,  R)
Taxi Driver
I watched this movie 3 times(i know a low number for a fan) and i want to watch it much more. But i dont want to review this masterpiece.I want the tagline to talk for me: On every street in every city, there's a nobody who dreams of being a somebody.Of course a movie like "Taxi Driver" isnt only saying this. But i dont have to blab.Give this masterpiece a try;understand it,empathy with Travis, and let the movie speak. But there is a thing i want to say:"This is Cinema."

I am hypnoticed.I cant write a review.Because "8½" is more than words...Ok,i just wanna say this...Actually i dont have to say it because everyone who knows Fellini, knows he is a genius about filmmaking. So ask to yourself:"What would happen if a genius filmmaker does a movie about filmmaking?".Answer is "8½".

Finally...i wanted to watch it since last year.and i finally found it.i was so excited before i watched.i was too excited while i was watching.and im still excited!im thinking about should i add this to my best list?!of course!this movie is the one of the most surprising movies i've seen!i wasnt waiting this much greatness before i watched.it surprised.everyone in the movie surprised me.Espeically Sam Mendes and Kevin Spacey.they have to do another movie with each other.anyway this perfecto movie reachs all family problem with only two family.story can be look normal but senario is perfecto!couldnt be better.same thing for Kevin Spacey too!perfecto and couldnt be better!actually dream scenes reminded me Fellini.so i congrugulate him too.this movie deserves all awards it got.even more!so this is a must-watch!some people say u cant watch this with your parents.but they are wrong.i watched it alone...then recommend it to my parents.cause this movie gotta-be-watched!

Pierrot le Fou (Pierrot Goes Wild) (Crazy Pete) 1965,  Unrated)
Pierrot le Fou (Pierrot Goes Wild) (Crazy Pete)
The movie that made me worship Godard! Creativeness at the top! You should just watch it because of the creativeness of Godard. But "Pierrot Le Fou" says some important things about the most important thing in life: Freedom. First of all a person should be in where he can feel free. Not wealthy.Of course if he feels free in wealthiness,he can be there. But that is not happen much.Big power, comes with big responsibility.(thank you,spider-man ;) )
I think cinema has power of increasing the imagination of poeple. You must think and watch carefully to understand this Godard masterpiece. You must get in it.You must think and imagine. Some movies in present forgetting about this:People can think!Make them think!A person who cant think and imagine,is only flesh and bone.So i want you to think while watching this."Pierrot le fou" is a different movie.I mean every movie must be different from another.Godard is the best director who can do this. You cant find another movie like his movies. That why he is my favourite director. In the present popular movies cinema language is always same.I hate this.It is putting down the idea of thinking people.

Le Scaphandre et le Papillon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) 2007,  PG-13)
Le Scaphandre et le Papillon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly)
Outstanding!i knew it was good when i read the plot but i wasnt waiting this kinda perfecto movie.first of all first 30 minutes are with my dream camera:i mean eye cam.and story...let me tell u that true story:Jean Dominiqiue Bauby is a great rich editor who suddenly had a full body stroke without his one left eye and ears.how can u didnt watch a story like this.i know it is sad to be true.but he has never give up life.camera angles, actors, lines, atmosphere.absolutly amazing and inspiring.please watch it.u will love it.

The Great Dictator 1940,  G)
The Great Dictator
Some of you can say "not the funniest Chaplin movie" but you cant deny its braveness.Actually i didnt watched "Monsieur Verdoux" but it should be more brave.Because they banished Chaplin after that movie. But i watched this one.And i agree it is the best of Charlie Chaplin.
8
The Fall 2006,  R)
The Fall
Absolutely Magical!Im very sad because of its underrated rate.If you ask me this movie is a gotta watch for all ages.Actually there isnt a age for watching a movie but im saying that this perfecto story is a must watch.I said story cause whole movie is a story telling. And it uses the best way of the story telling. You see in other movies:They read diaries or an old man tells a story to the children...But in this one's story telling is very different.Totally different two people meet by chance in a hospital. One is a 9 year old girl and other is a stuntman whose got a stroke beyond his legs.Stunt starts to tell an epic story which is the reflection of his life.
But what a story?not just a life story.A totally fantasy story.Maybe the most Fantastic story you can see.Story is about revenge but it is supporting by Tarsem's perfecto visuals.Im not overrating by saying perfecto.I really mean you cant find better visual or costumes. You can understand what im saying by the beginning of the movie.I watched that beginning over and over again and i still wanna hear that music and see that scene.Really Perfecto!

Enemy Mine 1985,  PG-13)
Enemy Mine
Some of you wont agree with me but i think it is one of the best movies.i loved everything about it.a real sci-fi movie.and the biggest fact that made me love it is;it is against racism! im against it too.other than make-up is great, acting is great, atmosphere is great.inspiring and the most emotional alien movie of all time(yes, that's right E.T.).i looked at other reviews.most of people didnt liked it.but nobody can change my opinions on this movie.

Uzak (Distant) 2002,  Unrated)
Uzak (Distant)
(The first paragraph will be in English, second one will be Turkish)

I havent seen a movie which has more natural acting and dialogs than "Distant".But i know why.Because director,Nuri Bilge Ceylan is one of the smartest directors in the world. He had used his own house and car for this movie. And he wanted to shoot it somewhere different. But when he woke up and see it is snowy in Istanbul. He changed his mind and shoot this great scened movie in Istanbul. So the movie is natural cause he isnt in the unknown place. And he has picked the best actors for their roles.Thats why the actors get Cannes Award. They werent playing a much different person too.But the reason that i gave it 4.5 stars is:the story isnt strong as i though. But director's telling makes movie much more better and strong. And the suitable word "Natural" for this movie.

Ah ?u Nuri Bilge Ceylan ya da Fatih Akin gibileri olmasa sinema dünyas? bizi nasil taniyacakti acaba?Recep Ivedikle taniyacak deiller herhalde.

A Clockwork Orange 1971,  R)
A Clockwork Orange
I read the book too.And i can say Kubrick didnt adapted it as the same of course.Stanley Kubrick is an idealist director.I would surprise if he adapted it as same.So first i want to talk about the difference of book and movie.Because you can read "Clockwork Orange is a masterpiece!" from every review.I can say it too.But i want to talk about something different.

First of all there isnt any date or year.A normal director would adapted it as the present time.Because Alex and his droogies are wearing black tights in the book. This is increasing the possibility of the story is in 70s.But Kubrick has used a clever trick. He didnt give date like Burgess but movie's decoration is waay more modern from 70s and Droogies are wearing white different clothes. So it is increasing the possibility of it is in future in our mind. That makes sense for me.Because i think violence wont stop untill mankind die.

Other than these differences, there are only small changes if i dont remember wrong. Not that small...Alex is drug raping a 10 year old girl, instead of sleeping with two girls like in the film(one of my favourite and the most creative scene of the movie),and Droogies are beating an old librarian (book) instead of a drunk hobo (movie) and the book is finishing just after Alex is ...spoilers...........cured.

Yup,these are the differences of movie and the book. But i think this story is more fitting to Cinema.Violence is the biggest fact on this though. You can make violence more massive with picture (if you are a brave director).

Actually there is an interesting though of mine that i want to share:Both book and movie trying to do the same thing that happened to Alex. Both of them are showing massive and unnecessary violence scenes. So they want to make us avoid violence. That was the thing they did to Alex:They showed him violence to cure him.And my though is:The book or movie (espeically movie) is trying to do the same to us.That is a strong possibility, isnt it?

But maybe Anthony Burgess or Stanley Kubrick didnt think this way.If they though like i said, they would draw up strong violence scenes unneccesarly and without a story to make us avoid to do violence(just like Alex). But it couldnt get any attention without a story. So my thogh is still strong :).

I would like to say "Just enjoy it!" but "Clockwork Orange" is a movie that you must understand, make a lesson and crictize mankind and its love of violence...But still i dont get...Why "an orange"?

I was thinking to end review with that question. But i get why it is "an orange".Goverment wants people who wont hurt them.An orange cant hurt you...

Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb 1964,  PG)
Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
I think the ridiclous (a bit) story of "Dr. Strangelove",is to put war in a ridiclous place.I said ridiclous because if you look at the actual story (a general orders to send nuclear bombs to Russia because of the thinking that they are poisoning drinking water) looks a little pulp. But Stanley Kubrick is a master of making this story believeable and normal.

But i cant speak all about genius Kubrick.Gotta talk about genius Peter Sellers too.His acting of three characters has a big advantage for this masterpiece.Espeically Dr. Strangelove.

I love brave movies.Thats why "Dr. Strangelove:Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" is one of my favourites. It is critctizing one of the biggest problems of our times:Politics.

Stranger Than Paradise 1984,  R)
Stranger Than Paradise
The movie of boredom i think. But for me it is more about having a taste from boredom.Because "Stranger Than Paradise" has great enjoyable moments (for a cinemalover at least). And we can say it is about being somewhere that you dont get satisfaction. You have got choise to leave. But where?Where are you gonna go?Everywhere is the same.Nowhere is different.People are same, buildings are same, theathers are same.Is it worth to leave your home.
For me everywhere is different.Cause im a detailist (like Jarmusch).I look to the details. So i dont bore if even everyday is the same. But some people dont look to the details.Maybe Jarmusch wanted to say that:If you cant get the details, you cant get no satisfaction.Because familiar things look as same from far.You must get close...closer to find out.Thats why i watched this movie twice. And when i re-watched,i saw Jim Jarmusch eating a hotdog :D In the scene which Willie and Eddie was doing surprise to Eva.That made me happy for example.
And if you read some Jarmusch reportages, you can see he is saying this:"Life is in little details, not in big events."
