1
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
The Two Towers is my favorite of the three Lord of the Rings, movies. Filled with action, drama, adventure and romance, even a person most seperated from the work of J.R.R Tolkien would find it completely enjoyable. Its not quite as slow- paced as The Fellowship, but that is because the Nine have all seperated and now are taking different paths, each their own journey. It introduces new characters and deals with friendship more than the first and last movie. Its also watchable on its own, not needing the first to see the second.
2
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
The excitement that was built around the release of this film was simply amazing. And it was absoloutely fantastic to find a movie that lived up to the expectations of an audience and generated more excitement, even after its release!
The most visiually stunning of all three movies and the most innocent, it allows its watchers to become captivated by the innocent world it thrives in until the tragedy of the story is discovered.
Transporting you to a world which only ever exsisted in the minds of J.R.R. Tolkien's fans, until now.
Beautifully created and exicuted to screen. A true work of art and imagination.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003,  PG-13)
4
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003,  PG-13)

Schindler's List 1993,  R)
Schindler's List
For a long time I couldn't watch this movie. My parents tried to get me to watch it when I was 15, but I couldn't cope with the horror of it all.
This movie is VERY real to me and is by far my favorite movie of all time, but not for fan-girl reasons or even just a 'good script' movie, but for the way it makes me FEEL. I feel empty and a loss whenever the credits roll. It ALWAYS makes me think and wonder what I could have, would have done to make things right and always leaves me with a sense of guilt, not on my behalf, but how can someone like Hitler do this? How could someone do this if they were HUMAN? Was his heart that cold? Was his mind that mixed up? Did he have no emotions other than hatered and a lust for power? It's a nightmare, and yet a dream at the same time. Violent and yet Beautiful.
The cast couldn't have possibley better and stand out with strong performances.
Not for those with a weak heart, or stomach, it is a masterpiece of tragedy and war that all should see and not forget.

Firstly WOAH.
Before I get to any of the 'lovely' butts, I mean bits, I must say that no other movie to date since LOTR has totally wowed me with it's cinematography. I know it was computer generated, but what artists! I loved the earth and water tones used, and Im most definately sure it was worth poor David and Gerry going to the tanning salon everyday (heard it in an interveiw with Daisy on the local radio- he thought that was the most gruelling part!).
The soundtrack was awesome, completely awesome. I was skeptical at first when I heard what sort of music was in the film, but it totally suits every sequence.
And the slowmo battle scenes... my heart thundered in excitement!!
Daisy did such a FANTASTIC job, and maybe it's my Aussie pride, but damn I'm so glad he's an Aussie boy! And hell, he's just moved up onto my "hello hottie" list.
Gerard looked absoloutely fanstastic! Not only was this man a visual feast, but his acting was so admireable, he's most definately stepped up a couple of notches and I was a fan of his when Atila set on our screens. He brings such an intensity to screen that not many actors, even the greats such as Mel Gibson and dare I say Eric Bana (I love him too girls! Don't stone me!), lack with such astounding confiction, that until I see a better perforance from any male lead, I will hold Gerry's performance in the highest regard and admireation.

That all said, I stumbled along through the plot line and admit, I cannot fully recall judging it in detail, as I was too busy starring at washboard stomachs and rippling thighs and too caught up in the AMAZING battle sequences.

I've heard some acuse the movie of having little plot. And I have to disagree. For any action movie enthusiast, what could have been added to make this movie greater? We had BEAUTIFUL scenery, a FANTASTIC cast, and BRILLIANT battle sequences, all for GLORY, LOVE, PRIDE, FAMILY!
If the writers had seriously taken MORE time, or added more depth to the plot, created a deeper look into characterization, we would have lost ourselves in all the detail of the visual splendor and passion that the movie so obviously glorifies itself in.
So yes, you could acuse it of having little plot and lacking in character depth and formation, but if you pass judgement on this movie for those reasons alone, then you are surely deprived of knowing the beauty and emotions that cinema can create in a person.

Yesterday 2004,  R)
Yesterday
We all have regrets and things we wished we had done differently, but sometimes, consequences we face are a result from the actions of others. I truly love this film. Its touching and tears at the heart-strings, while dealing with two innocent victims of AIDS in a remote Africa. One, a helpless child, with no real hope for the future and the other the story of her mother, who contracts AIDS through her husband.
An honest film, with such a realistic story, it makes one realize just how important AIDS as a disease is to be aware of.
