Incredible, funny, romantic and also.. SO good. To see again and again and again to never forget.

Gotta change to 5 stars. It was better than the first time ! Also a really really good movie. I've gotta have to watch it another and another time ;-)

Peter Jackson has done it again ! An incredible movie with great actors/actress, intense part, dramatic moment, and everything we want from it. When will the extended edition will come ?

Sincerely awesome! What a great comedy! Great situation, great cinematography and music, so *burlesque* so funny, so goodly act, a perfect Monroe, beautifu; as always, so funny, so memorable. Now I know why it's consider one of the best comedy of all time, it's funny and it's brilliant, what more can we ask?

Another must to see, a *bijou* that we can never be bored of.

WOW, this movie is so wonderful, remarquable, sensible, divine, magic, exceptionnal.. Well it's wonderfully make, wonderfuly think, thismovie is near perfection.

Simply awesome, amazing, incredible, deep profund, psychologically perfect, sad, Winslet and Dicaprio are simply perfect for the main roles and the rest of the cast is sublime too. The movie is so touching, so full of real drama, of impossibles dreams, of reality, of sadness, of everything captured by the amazing direction of Sam Mendes and how not mentionned Thomas Newman amazing score. Wonderful movie. Mendes certainly create a new level on suburban movies, following his unforgettable American beauty.

CHICAGO! What a show, haven,t see in broadway, but this movie is a brilliant musical. What can we wish more than Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renée Zellweger, Richard Gere, Queen Latifah and John C Reilly ?

More mature review, 'cause we all grow up: Marshall's take on the famous Broadway is more than excitment and some jazz and liquors. It's an incredible show full of flash, elegance and rythm. It's spicy, it's funny and it's juicy. The dialogues are flashing by themselves while the amazing cast brilliantly delivers them. A wonder from start to finish with actually no lacks, even after a lots of viewing with awesome songs and remarquable art direction. More than a "reussite", it's actually a musical masterpiece for sure.

Old german movie are AWESOME. I mean this is so epic, so beautiful, a real masterpiece. Well think, well done, so sad a lot of pieces are missing :-(

100 miles away from requiem for a dream, Aronofsky impressed with this remarquably intriguing and magical movie. With incredible visual effect (with the low budget he was having) He created a wonderful movie with an incredible end. Death, love or life ?

Tarantino signs a masterpiece with an inusitate story but with his own ingredients. The result is simply exceptionnal. An hommage to cinema and cinema-lover, everything in this is incredible from beginning to end. Masterpiece.

It's the truman show with a soul.. It's.. Well.. It's Charlie Kaufman! What you want more? Everything that looks so normal in the start turn so badly twisted and so.. strange-weird and.. Beautiful and actually weird is beautiful and i love weird too and sometimes, watching what Kaufman is bringin up, it,s freak me out, 'cause they're a lot of thoses ideas that I could have bring it too. Love it, it was incredible on a lot of aspects. It's twisted but it,s still want to tell something. It wasn't Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.. (I don't thing anything would be) but well, really enjoyable and.. crazy :-)

It's the king of movie that I wish I had made.. I mean, the beauty of the scene, of the music, of the script, of every sentence and every thought.. This movie is really beautiful. Just to think about the snow.. Wow. Really beautiful and for sure, a good movie!

Sometimes, we have to watch the life backward to realize his meaning, his importance. A sublim movie. Superbly directed by the amazing David Fincher, awesomely act by wonderful actors and actress (Blanchett as always <3), somptuous soundtrack by Desplat, incredible cinematography. It was so sad, so beautiful, so true, so romantic, so.. Living. Awesome on every level. But maybe a bit long? Oh well! The ending was awesome! The ordinary life of an ordinary man with extraordinary circumstances.. Somptuous.

After Amelie, Jeunet have done another great great film. Maybe it's more dramatic, but it's almost a great one. Done in a incredible way.

Wow, I don't think that an animated movie had ever touched me as much as wall-e did. This love story is simply tooooooooo adorable. It touch my heart so bad, wow, all this movie was exceptionnally cute and amazing. Funny, sensible, intelligent. The perfect entertainment. Pixar.. is still on top. WOW.

Un film pur, mais surtout dur, d'une cruauté assomante qui fait réfléchir d'une façon incroyable. Percutant, réaliste, brillant, métaphorique et même drôle. Un bijou avec une distribution hallucinante qui ne vole pas le devant de l'histoire et un marc labrèche carrément impressionant et d'une crédibilité alarmante dans un rôle qui ne se veut pas drôle du tout. When we talk of Burton, this is the first movie that can come in the mind of a lot of people and with reasons, this stop-motion animation is quite unique in his genre and rest of the best.

Scorsese brings howard hughes lifes in a wonderful movie with a memorable blanchett as always.

I really love movie like this and this one is simply superb, with great acting and a puzzle story that we have to put the pieces together through the journey, it makes it awesome at the end, while we think we finally understand. The directing is actually really creative in all the way he go through. Entirely original and it completely blow my mind, loooved it!

Wow! What an AMAZING german film of the expressionist time. I mean, the story is cool, the set is awesome, the music is haunting and the direction is awesome. A really great movie.

The cinematography is sublim, exquisite, just.. WOW! Every scene have it's own beauty and the actors are splendid except for the really annoying story of Joana and the teenage boy who really pissed me off.. HE should have been cut instead of christopher lee :-( Well what didn't work is what I said above, but also the story is relaly predictable and previsible.. But in general the songs are really good and the actors have a good way to interpret them while not being perfect singer. But for the incredible cinematography, this movie needs to be scene all the way!

What a wonderful sci-fi movie! With amazing special effects and cinematography, awesome directing and really good actors, this movie offers a great journey full of action and I have to say that the last scenes are completely BREATHTAKING I was at the edge of my sofa, both eyes on the tv and nothing was able to get my attention at another place. And all those refrences to 2001:a space odyssey, wow. A really appreciate this movie!

WOW. I'm speechless, this movie was totally BRILLIANT. I mean, yes gilliam's style is there, but all the touch, all the references, all the ideas, all the critical view and.. and this ending that I never saw coming? No, this movie was simply brilliant, I so love futuristic movie with a depressing twist but a big side of heroic hope. OMG, it was fabulous!

Okay it's not an unforgettable movie but it's actually really superior to a lot we can have thoses day and well, what's brilliant with Cohen's movies, is that in they absurdity in their crazyness there's a level of intelligence and brilliance that simply amaze me. In all the mess in this movie supported by an outstanding cast, hides an incredible plot. Brilliant.

Still, the first hour is a bit slow, but the last one is priceless. Most human and beautiful and touching project of Burton. Simply magic, everytime, the end makes me cry.

Murnau is simply a GENIUS. Nosferatu was really good and this one is exceptionnal too. What a direction, what a story, what epic scenes we discover. Everything in it is simply incredible. WOW.

OMG what an unexpected, original, fantastic, incredible movie. I mean this is so unbelievable! So touching! So TRUE, so.. Wow, Great cast, i mean, awesome one, the story blow my mind and the effects are hell good! Becoming one of my favorite movie, it was so brilliant!

WOW. This movie gives me chills at a lot of moments. The story is beautiful, the scenery is incredible, the cast is outstanding and spectacular, especially the *bad* side (crowe and foster), the music is simply sublim, well, this movie was a great western, taking me back to Leone time with some modern twist. It was an awesome journey.

WOW, that was epic! Batman playing in the yard of V for vendetta. Actually, the 152 minutes weren't enough, I was able for some more hours, it leave me hungry for more having in mind a breathtaking movie were The Joker is simply brilliant by an unforgettable Ledger. Yes the rest of the cast is really good too and well.. Bruce/Batman is a hero a little bit boring and monotone, but happily (and sadly in the other way) Maggie gives a really more interesting Rachel than Hokmes did. Everything is improve, the direction is more humble and greater than the first movie, the music fit perfectly, giving an awesome theme for the Joker, they bring terror with just a sound: brilliant. The special effects is not the principal thing in this movie, the script is on the front and that is simply beautiful. Well, I can talk about it hours long, but it certainly a must-see, you just CAN'T get bored, it simply awesome but we have to say it : really dark.

Despite some flaws, more in the second part less more powerful than the first one, the movie is simply incredible, we go so deep in the mind of the character, there's some scene that's simply touch me powerfuly, like I didn't think it would. Beautiful music, awesome direction. A must-see!

With a movie as strong and beautiful as this one is, my only wish is to see the same treatment for Maus. But well, this movie was not perfect but offer a good balance between drama, history, courage, comedy, romance, beauty and else. I have to admit it, I was quite frustrated when it ends, was able for some more minutes!

Nothing can beat Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but Gondry surely done a great original, fascinating, creative, fun, touching, inspiring and lot of qualities movie that finally, really touch my heart with inventive mind of Gondry and crazy ideas transported in his awesome surreal world direction. More assumed than Science of Sleep, as it goes it became a real feast for all senses. But we only have to be frank that we will never saw ESOTSM2 and simply appreciate all thoses great movies :-)

For the love of music and people. So heart-warming movie, so passionate and so simple, but at the same time, beautoful, it was just wonderful, love it!

This movie certainly have a different meaning since Wall-E has been out, but it doesn't kept myself away of it to fully appreciate it. Surely, it add nothing to the genre, but actually it,s so entertaining, so funny, with a good rythm, ncredible performance, an outstanding Streisand and so much joy and happiness and everything that this movie beyond a real classic of the musical genre. Truly and fully enjoyable!

A bit long by the end, I certainly like it better than the princess bride, wich I never understand why it was so popular.. With a wonderful story full of imagination and creativity, a well-done direction, a perfect cast, enough jokes, action, suspense, romance and else, this is the ultimate and perfect fantasy movie! I completely fall in love with it, beyond my expectaction and at my big surprise!

Still they can be some point to arrange to make it perfect, for a 1991 movie, it's still really amazing for the set, the artistic direction, the realisation and of course the story that is not afraid to go in all new and special direction for a really good and interesting movie. Some scene are quite priceless and the attention that they put in the sound of everything make it even better.

EN recherche de sa propre maison, des propres motivations de l'existence humaine, le film suit un personnage hors du commun décidé à tout faire pour vivre en communion avec la nature. Comme dans tout road-movie se respectant, son but central ne sera atteint que vers la fin alors que tout au long de son parcours, il rencontrera nombreux personnage qui chacun lui apprendra des leçons importantes de sa vie, mais qui ne l'empêcheront pas de toujours désirer de plus en plus ardement son but principal. Fort de techniques habilement maîtrisés autant du côté technique que narratif, l'histoire est construite et déconstruire de manière très professionnel. Chapeau aussi à la musique toujours juste qui adoucit les moments, les dramatisent ou les amplifie, illustrant le tout tel une fausse note, longue, languissante, retentissante.

Magnifique un film qui tout en étant léger, ne manque pas de toucher par ses réflexions, ses idées et ses pensées. Mené par une réalisation hautement compétente et une distribution efficace, la structure narrative quant à elle demeure hautement originale et maitrisé, même si au niveau du scénario il y a une égalité qui se fait ressentir, faible par son début et sa fin, mais d'une puissance incontestable en son milieu (les meilleurs moments assurément). Grandement amené, grandement dirigé et pensé, le film n'est sûrement pas à oublier. Du grand art qui malgré nous a quelque chose qui manque, mais quoi?

Somptuous. Greatly made, greatly act (well, I still don't believe that Jack was as annoying as Diego Luna was..). Great direction, Van Sant find a way to modernize, while not truly reinventing biographic movie, by focusing only on the truly important years of Harvey Milk, he found the greatest forces of his movie. Wildly entertaining, never boring or too long, the movie is a must and a great and sincere hommage to homosexuality.
Edit: okay second watch was even better than better, the movie was near perfection, god bless Van Sant.

Incredible! Finally the next movie of Daldry since the unforgettable The hours. Superb, somptuous, beautiful, sensual, sad, true, romantic, it's everything we want it to be. Well I haven't read the book, but still, this movie want us to prefer have it read it for us. Simbly amazing. Winslet particularly is once again perfect. Amazing movie, I cried a lot. Loved it.

Le problème avec les films à sketchs, c'est qu'ils sont souvent inégaux, pas nécessairement parce que certains sont plus mauvais que les autres, parce que chaque style est différent et que chacun se savoure différement. Celui-ci ne fait pas exception, mais s'en tire bien, quoique le lien de départ pour lier tous ces petits sketchs entre eux, se fera vite oublier et se veut plutôt faible, si les deux plus agréables sont le 2e et le 3e qui ressorte par leur humour prononcé et leur rythme tappageur, le premier a une réalisation fortement surprenante, le 4e ne trouve jamais son sens et le 5e a une philosophie intéressante, tout comme le début du 5e avant de tomber dans une poursuite sans grandes raisons. Mais en somme, l'expérience fut très concluante et particulièrement agréable.

Ce film n'a rien de la comédie romantique idéale puisqu'à défaut de bien finir, le film exploite avec profondeur et intelligence les conséquences inattendues des situations que les films à l'eau de rose s'amusent à bêtement utiliser et surutiliser sans aller plus loin. Le film dépeint avec génie les suites indéniables de l'imprévisible, mené à terme par d'excellentes performances, des dialogues délicieux et un fondement fend-le-coeur et ce malgré une réalisation plutôt simpliste qui rajoute au réalisme chavirant des situations pourtant romancés. Si le film se savoure du début à la fin, rappelant par divers technique ce que le maître Woody Allen a pu laisser sur son passage, il pincera le coeur et la pensée lors de son dernier acte. Magnifique.

Snyder's prove that 300's style wasn't made by luck, watchmen have some somptuous moment in his first acts, but all in all everything turn to superhero type in the last one. But the wonderful moments are so numerous and it's really beautiful in it's melancholy. Not unique, but quite special. Like it, really.

On a lot of aspects it's by far one of the most original family movie i've seen in a while. Deep touching, interesting, amusing, weird, funny, cute and averything, we certainly pass more than a great and amazing moment. Fantastic :-)

Funny, pleasant, enjoyable, joyful and everything. Awesome musical numbers (like the one in the boat) but every credits are given to the still incredible and amazing *dancing on the celing* scene. Worth everything.

Original, creative, funny and mostly hilarious on a lot of ways, Rushmore is a delightful comedy for everyone.

Somewhere between fiction, reality, documentary, it's original on a lot of point but still very HBo's style. The interpretation are awesome but seems more interesting than the real people actual are. Great vision and observation of the complex simple life.

This movie remembers me why James and the giant peach freaks me out while I was a kid.. But well Coraline is really great, goodly written and the animation is simply stunning. It's really long for that kind of movie but in a good way, while the rythm might me a little long for a first watch, i'm sure it won't be a problem for a second one. Greatly done.

Les chansons, le personnage d'Erwann, et la deuxième moitié du film fait oublier le ton et l'atmosphère plutôt sombre, monotone, inhabituelle cela dit pour une comédie musicale. En somme en résulte un petit bonheur qui fait sourire et finit évidemment avec un happy end :-)

Subtle, slow and as much touching as it is moving, the movie is beautiful and offer a lot of great and deep moment. While there's some ambiguity, the characters are so well writtent we just found ourself falling for them as much as they seem falling for each other as the movie play.

Vraiment difficile de faire mieux dans le cinéma vérité de fiction. C'est si beau, spontané, cruel à la fois, cummulant les descriptifs. C,est une observation où on laisse au téléspectateur le soin de penser ce qu'il en veut, on guide les directions, mais non pas les réflexions. On est pas ici pour éloger, rabaisser, humilier les ados, on les illustre, c'est tout. Magnifique à beaucoup de niveaux, cummule les frissons.

Aaah and aaaww! A good teen comedy with a soul! Nothing really new, but the way of doing it is quite refreshing! And the music is particularly good and impressive (RATATAT!), the interpretation are nice and the movie is widely open to lots of subjects. A great ride/road movie and delivers good son. Only complaint, I don,t know if it was only in my theaters but god the sound simply sucks!

Sans avoir les qualités de Wall-E ou Ratatouille, Up se rapproche beaucoup plus de The Incredibles et trouve son côté ambitieux en utilisant un vieillard en marchette enveloppé d'une lourde nostalgie et mélancolie pour l'accompagner dans ce dernier tournant d'aventures fort rocambolesque, d'où penche d'ailleurs cet autre volet d'humour et d'enfantillage rigolotes et mignonnes qui ont tout pour charmer surtout petit mais grands aussi. Adressé à un large public, le film touche à bien des niveaux et à bien des degrés et demeure en un sens un pari fort risqué, mais grandement réussi. Pixar prouve encore qu'il est incapable de décevoir. Magnifique.

Tryptique cinématographique fort ambitieux permettant à trois réalisateurs d'explorer leurs possibilités avec grâce et élégance d'où Gondry et Joon-ho réussissent à tirer les meilleurs épingles du jeu. Les moments marquants sont cela dit fort nombreux.

Chan-wook Park continue de façon étonnante sa variation sur un thème sans réellement se répéter, aidé d'une maîtrise cinématographique élégante et d'un style fort agréable et inspiré.
Edit: Mené par un scénario sans failles, alterné par un ordre non chornologique, on apprend peu à peu les clés et les secrets de l'histoire au fur et à mesure que la vengeance se tisse sous nos yeux. Le style et l'esthétique de Park magnifique sans excès ce qui pourrait tomber trop vite dans le trop et l'exagération. Brillant.

Brillant vif et allumé, Truffaut offre un autre petit bijou qui porte un regard fascinant et fasciné sur deux amis que même le temps et tous les obstacles du monde n'arrive à séparer. Campé par une distribution de qualité et ponctué d'une narration nuancé et d'un rythme inégalable, Truffaut offre un drame autant charmant que navrant. Magnifique.

Kubrick's first masterpiece in 12 years and last material we'll ever get of him. Help with impressive performances, his incursion in erotic thriller is meticulous and intriguing. It's a mess, yes, but a wonderful one.

WOnderful movie. First, the direction have some amazing parts and ideas (the slows and of course the admirable narration), second, the actors where simply just exceptional (winslet as normal, connelly, wilson and of course the really trouble interpretation of Earle Haley) and thrid, the story simply put a lot of ideas to make a great analysis and *regard* on a society full of rage, lonelyness, fear and desire of love and being love. Simply troubling and wonderful.

Truffaut peut difficilement cacher son penchant pour Antoine, son personnage fétiche puisqu'à chaque fois il fait preuve d'une inspiration incroyable donnant droit à des films tous plus brillants les uns des autres. Plus léger, le film ne cesse de prouver le côté maladroit et enfantin d'Antoine qui depuis toujours tente de se tailler sa place dans le monde adulte. Brillant.

Okay, it's hot Happiness but god Solondz know how to write and how to direct. It,s so sharp, so real, so true, so in a way funny but devastating. Really great and a lot of ingenious moments.

Si on croyait avoir fait le tour de la question alors que le sujet est vu et revu avec insistance dernièrement, on pousse la sauce encore plus loin et fort de son style particulier, Park séduit avec une oeuvre à la fois épique, maîtrisé, inquiétante et sommes toute hilarante. COmbinant magnifique performances, situations inusités, bons coups, répliques savoureuses, bref, Park s'amuse sans réserves et offre un film où l'on s'amuse pleinement et c'est tant mieux!

Épique, hautement original, décapant, hilarant et fortement émouvant, cette fresque de 4 heures ne durent définitivement pas assez longtemps tellement le rythme nous plonge avec aisance dans cet univers disjoncté. Magnifique, décidément.

There's so much talents in this simple story in the way of telling story, of referencing things, of mixing emotions and everything. Full of thrills, of fun, of stories of.. It,s perfect, maybe too much though. But still, this movie is just too good.

Steven Spielbierg is dealing with a lot fo perfection with his version of the all-time classic' Pinnochio, propulsing this simple, but really *human* in an ironic way story. With stunning effect and heartbreaking performances, this movie is a must.

Von Trier signe ici une comédie avec une des histoires les plus inédites qu'il m'aie été de voir. Sans jamais se défaire de son style toujours propre au Dogme, il laisse de côté les réflexions sociales, les causes humaines et tout cela en traitant avec humour et absurdité cette histoire aux morales tout de même bien pesées. Von Trier comme on le voit rarement, mais toujours aussi doué.

Hilarant à en pleurer, absurde et pourtant brillant à ses heures, une vraie bouffée de fraîcheur avec des acteurs au talent plus que maîtrisé, en plus des délicieux cameos qui ajoutent à ces situations démentes. Délicieux!

Si parfois la confusion nous fige, il parvient toujours à illuminer ses scènes par son ultime génie. Brillant et le début d'une trilogie d'une grande qualité.

En contraste avec son dernier film, The boss of it all, une comédie, genre inattendu de la part de Lars Von Trier, le réalisateur se livre dans une étude profonde et approfondie du deuil en étayant les mauvaises tournures d'une thérapie lente et compliquée dont en émane une tension incontrôlable alors que, en ayant mélangé vie commune et psychanalyse, tout se soit mélangé au point de ne plus distancier logique, réalité du reste. La femme, déjà aliéné par ses propres recherches en vient à ne plus différencier son mari de son thérapeute (si elle l'a déjà fait) et à complêtement pêter les plombs. Face à cet univers particulier, filmé avec délicatesse et beauté tout en conservant certains aspects du Dogme, en restant pourtant si loin des contraintes, Von Trier livre un film dure, puissant, choquant, mais découlant d'une recherche constructive et poussée du comportement humain.

Le 8½ de Fellini n'est pas simple d'approche, il faut l'assimiler et se lancer dans ce périple intérieur d'un artiste en plein crise existencielle. Le rythme effréné et les nombreux tiques agaçants du cinéma italien, n'aide pas également aux premiers abords. Cependant, la justesse des interprétations, l'originalité du propos et la brillance du scénario permettent au film de cumuler avec génie les moments de grâce évoquant sans contredit toutes les raisons qui font de ce film un chef-d'oeuvre sensationnel. Hallucinant.

Le film se laisse savourer lentement en ne gardant ses plus grandes surprises pour la fin alors que toutes apparences se révèlent plus que trompeuses. Dans cet espèce de jeu subtil de pouvoir ou chaque secrets cache une vérité pas toujours agréable à réaliser, on prendra part à un véritable balancier d'une puissance et d'une force évocatrice indiscutable, plaçant à sa tête un lot incroyable de performances exceptionnelles, James Dean en tête qui prouve qu'il n'était pas qu'une belle gueule. L'amour fait mal, l'amour fait mal, l'amour fait mal-mal-mal. Rarement aura-t-on vu le fait être autant pris aux mots. De plus, rarement aura-t-on vu un film exprimé avec autant de ferveur la spontanéité que provoque le sentiment en soit. C'est donc découlant de ces observations que le film livre une histoire d'amour plutôt atypique, mais d'un réalisme et d'une brutalité tout autant choquante, perturbante, intrigante que touchante. La réalité fébrile et le jeu tout en nuance collabore au succès de ce très bon film.

What a beautiful, heartwarming and touching movie about a bunch of people who in our thoughts aren't suppose to do anything of their lives and just prove to have more guts than maybe a largest number of people that we'll ever know.

Il a quelques de puissamment évocateur et quelque chose de plutôt perturbant dans ce film. Si l'idée est audacieuse et généralement bien exploitée, le contenu en soi s'avère plutôt perturbant.. Heureusement les performances sont toujours au niveau et même au-delà.

Il faut l'avouer, Matusalem est franchement épatant et surprenant. Si toutes les avenues ne sont pas nécessairement convaincantes, l'ensemble est d'un amusent purement agréable et l'enthousiasme dégagé est une totale réussite. D,autant plus que les prouesses techniques pour l'époque donnent au Québec une belle fierté.

Un montage rythmé et réglé au quart de tour et digne d'une virtuosité qui fait faciliment rougir et eniver les meilleurs blockbuster. Brillant, mais pas simple.

Ambitieux, la forme que Girard privilégie pour tracer le portrait de l'artiste dont il s'est épris s'avère merveilleuse voire magistrale. Sûrement mille fois plus évocateurs qu'une biographie conventionnelle on plonge avec bonheur non seulement dans l'univers de l'artiste, mais dans son esprit même. Brillant et magnifique.

En gardant les deux pieds sur terre en créant un équilibre idéal entre fantaisie et réalité, impossible de ne pas être charmé.

Véritable bijou d'animation, d'humour, de références, d'inventivités, mais également d'originalité. Redonne la gloire à bien des genres du bon vieux cinéma et rappelle avec brio que parfois, milles images valent bien mieux que tous les mots.

Damn it's powerful, damn it's great. Mendes once again delivers an incredible journey in a not-so-wonderful ideal. Catchy, depressing in some way with some incredible acting and a superb cinematography, it,s certainly is more than a must. It's war without war at it's best.

Pour un premier film, nul doute qu'il est extraordinaire. Évidemment, un grand nombre de failles sont présentes et plusieurs baisses de régimes ont lieues, mais face à une sublime cinématographie et à une histoire habilement amenée et construite, ainsiq eu par des performances d'une grande qualité, on a droit à un récit brut, violent et intelligent sur les états les plus primaires de l'humain lorsque ramené à son état le plus, disons-le, bestial. Captivant et hypnotisant.

Grâce à une réalisation à fleur de peau d'un réalisme décapant, en plus des interprétations sensibles et justes de son excellente distribution, Arnold nous immisce sans limites dans un univers dur et cruel où l'enfance est amère et le monde adulte d'autant plus cruel. La cohabitation de ces deux univers est dépeint sous les gestes bruts et les paroles vulgaire et assassines que tous se lancent en se cachant sous des carapaces à premières vues impénétrables, mais ô combien fragiles. Excellent.

En jouant sur des thèmes connus, malgré une technique parfois défaillante, Clausen réussit à élaboré une histoire qui se distingue par son éloquence et les nombreuses confrontations poignantes et violentes de ses personnages interprétés à fleur de peau par sa distribution. Si la fluidité n'est pas toujours de mise et que certaines coupures soient assez secs, l'ensemble en demeure vibrant, joyeux tout autant que puissant et hautement divertissant. Un très bon film sur la confrontation inévitable de deux êtres à la croisée des chemins.

Les nombreuses failles arrivent difficilement à éclipser les excellentes performances et la façon qu'a eu Hoffman de ramener en bout de ligne de son film non pas un film entièrement sur Tolstoy, non pas sur le mouvement Tolstoy, mais bien sur l'amour, le seul, le vrai, lui permettant de cumuler d'extraordinaires moments.

Un film juste et frôlant la perfection par sa façon sobre et hyper-réaliste de traiter d'un sujet aussi ambiguë et complexe que la vengeance. Essentiel, éprouvant et bourré d'émotions, de vraies émotions qui pognent aux trippes.

This sharp not-romantic comedy is simply stunning, delightful, funny, true, romantic, well it's so much things in few times, but it's more than worth the ride. Beautiful casting, music, direction and all. Irresistible.

An amazing movie about the post-war consequences and the vulnerability of everyone involve in it. Supported by amazing performances by the cast, it exposes situations to search emotions in a much better way. Beautiful and truly touching and moving.

WHat do we have to say? Abrams brings tv to cinema or cinema to tv? Well it's a pretty excited and powerful thing he did with Star Trek a dark, complex and well-crafted scenario with luminous characters well interpreted with a shiny cast and amazing effects with a tonitruous soundtrack by Master Giacchino. Everything is amazingly, too well done? Maybe. There was a small shiny bright special part missing maybe. But overall, the thrill was fabulous.

Edit: With a rewatch we have to admit that it's hard, especially these days, to find a blockbuster as efficient as this one. Wonderful.

Le rythme lent, les performances aussi réalistes que brutales, la direction artistique d'une beauté visuelle époustouflante et le style méditatif hautement soignée font en sortes qu'une réécoute s'impose pour apprécier le film avec encore plus d'attention. Sublime dans un premier temps, sûrement plus dans un second.

Edit: la réalisation méticuleuse de Jones, servie par une histoire écrite avec attention, le film vaut son pesant d'or, surtout pour être un premier long-métrage. Chapeau.

Quoique très mince au final, la joie contagieuse émanant des performances, de leur complicité et l'inventivité de la chute de bien des situations ont de quoi provoquer des éclats de rire de belle qualité. On reproche certains détours faciles et un peu trop de conventions, mais en somme, cela reste une comédie de haut calibre.

Un film qui, sans confirmer un talent (toujours incertain) de deux actrices de la relève, sait les cadrer dans un univers tailler à leur mesure leur permettant de laisser aller leur tiques ou de mieux les cacher sous du maquillage et des coiffures de haut calibre, se mariant avec symbiose dans cette reconstitution extraordinaire de cette époque autant dans sa gloire que dans sa décadence. Pour cela, la réalisation réussi avec brio autant au niveau sonore que visuel de faire vivre une époque à défaut de la raconter avec plus ou moins d'intérêt. À cela, jamais le film ne parviendra à surpasser la musique qu'il expose, mais au moins, il nous fera survivre et expérimenter.

Grandement inspiré de la nouvelle vague, le film s'amuse délibérément avec la narrativité pour raconter sous différentes façons et techniques une histoire sommes toutes simple, mais qui s'amplifient de diverses réflections tout comme de degrés. À l'aide d'une photographie lumineuse, d'une caméra animée, d'un montage rythmé et d'une réalisation attentive, le film capte notre intérêt jusqu'à sa fin, charnière et magnifique. Excellentes interprétations, tout comme les savoureux dialogues. Brillant.

En utilisant une réalisation, un montage, bref une technique épileptique, André Turpin arrive à surpasser son scénario pour nous immerger dans l'insupportable vie d'un homme qui tente sans succès de plaire à tous. À travers des performances à fleur de peau et des dialogues sensibles, mais efficaces, Turpin tisse une histoire fragmentée où se succèdent des situations inattendues et pas nécessairement percevable aux premiers abords qui agissent à la manière d'une cacophonie intolérable. Si l'expérience écorche, elle aura le mérite d'agir sur nous de façon extraordinaire jusqu'à l'implosion inévitable de la toute fin, à travers une magnifique métaphore, dont le film se sert à son plus grand potentiel.

Ne tombant jamais dans la surenchère et reposant entièrement sur les épaules de la plus que talentueuse Yolande Moreau, Séraphine s'avère un film biorgaphique touchant, sincère, mignon et affectueux qui livre avec merveille l'esprit tourmenté, mais incroyablement talentueux de Séraphine.

Véritable folie non-contrôlée qui rivalise d'audacité d'un point de vue créatif grâce à une technique hautement virtuose, on se retrouve mêlé dans ce tourbillon étourdissant de situations qui nous dépassent tant elles nous mènent dans des directions inattendues. Immense fantaisie créatrice qui fait du bien et cumule les rires, les vrais. Excellents interprétations vocales.

Mené par une excellente et hallucinante réalisation, en plus d'une direction photo à tout cassé soutenue par une trame musicale soignée et des interprètes fabuleux, Chéreau dirige son film de mains maîtresses en avançant dans d'inévitables, tout autant que violents, face à face, en faisant tournoyer les nombreux conflits de tous ces gens reliés par un seul homme, aujourd'hui mort. Sublime et délicieux.

S,il lui manque un petit quelque chose pour atteindre les rangs des chef-d'oeubre, le film de Giannoli fascine sans s'essouffler en menant à l'avant-plan une histoire boursoufflée de questions, mais avec bien peu de réponses pour la soutenir. Le traitement hautement sobre, mais grandement sophistiqué, quoique parfois trop classique, arrive à merveille à tout orchestrer de mains de maîtres, autant les dialogues, les situations que les excellents comédiens. Brillant.

Ne serait-ce que pour sa sublime finale à couper le souffle et sa direction photo impeccable, le film vaut absolument le détour au-delà de quelques dialogues et situations qui manquent de délicatesse, de quelques performances un peu forcées (au-delà des principaux, magnifiques) et de cette histoire qui prend du temps avant de se placer.

Au-delà de l'audace, le bonheur, le vrai, la libération totale, la satisfaction indescriptible, le naturel foudroyant, l'aise hautement considérable. Shortbus c'est un *late coming-of-age movie* qui tombe juste à point sans jamais tomber dans le gnan gnan ou le too much en dosant avec aise dans toutes les directions sans jamais tomber dans la provocation rapide, en restant toujours dans ses principes. C'est simplement une fantastique expérience qui exprime une chose: la liberté, la vraie. Tant mieux!

Edit: La réalisation hallucinante de Johnson nous plonge dans un univers envoûtant pivotant autour d'une histoire solide livré par d'excellentes performances qui arrivent à merveille à retransmettre cet univers par moment irréaliste d'un monde mafieux retransmis au cycle de l'adolescence.

Un film aussi lumineux qu'éclatant où se distingue un hymne à deux voix sur tous ces hauts et ces bas de la vie, de ses relations, de son amour, de son non-amour, de sa douleur et on en passe qui compose toutes ces vies qui nous entourent et nous unis. Avec une réalisation virtuose et une maîtrise extraordinaire du rythme, de la musique, des acteurs, des dialogues et on en passe, Desplechin offre un film renversant aussi douloureux que libérateur. Brillant.

Il faut avouer qu'au-delà du rythme quelque peu trop long, pratiquement contrecarré par le rythme trépidant assuré et la sympathique réalisation non-dénuée de style, sans oublier le fait qu'on perd quelque peu les réelles intentions du long-métrage compte tenu du fait qu'il ne se veut jamais totalement parodie, satyre ou hommage aux genre des superhéros, à défaut de plonger à pied joint dans les stéréotypes dans la deuxième partie, le film regorge de répliques mordantes, d'interprétations explosives et de moments carrément jouïssifs témoignant d'une folie comme seul le cinéma peut nous l'offrir le temps d'un instant.

Après un Rois et reine faisant preuve d'une maîtrise exceptionnell, Desplechin récidive avec un somptueux, élégant et audacieux Un conte de noël qui s'avère à la hauteur et même au-delà de nos attentes. Jouîssant d'une technique impeccable, d'une fluidité limpide et d'une distribution dirigé avec soin, on se lance dans une réunion de famille dysfonctionnelle où les répliques sont lancés comme des couteaux acérés. Cette verve extraordinaire permet au film de ne jamais s'enfonçant dans les règlements de compte trop dramatique ou larmoyant en se rangeant du côté de la cruelle lucidité. Brillant.

Nicole Holofcener fait preuve d'une grande éloquence autant dans ses thèmes que dans la façon de les aborder. À ce titre, elle parvient à soutirer de sa forte distribution d'excellentes performances souvent à vif d'où découle des dialogues autant savoureux, impressionnants que franchement surprenant. Drôle, voire hilarant à ses heures, par moment choquant ou du genre -non! Ils ont dit ça?-, le film repose également sur des moments dramatiques beaucoup plus sentis. Les nombreux non-dits où l'on préfère passer par l'acte valent également pour beaucoup. Malheureusement, comme dans son opus précédent, Friends with Money, avec autant de routes empruntés et une minutie aussi recherchée, on se désole de cette fin aussi rapide et suspendue qui nous laisse tristement sur notre faim même si tout le reste nous a diablement rassasié.

Tournant majeur et surtout magnifique de Fellini, cet épuisant opus où le style est inévitablement reconnaissable laisse dériver tous les sujets de prédilection du réalisateur à travers un tourbillon audacieux et maîtrisé de questionnements, mais surtout, de grand moment pur de libertinage et d'ode à la vie, simplement. La beauté des images, la perfection des costumes, la magnificence de la mise en scène ont tout pour confirmer l'étendue du talent de Fellini et la réputation de son film qui en quelque part, se termine trop vite.

Un film d'une sensualité irrésistible et d'une passion perturbante mené par un rythme lent, mais gagnant, jouïssant pleinement de sa direction artistique, de ses acteurs et de la musique de Stravinsky. Savoureux.

Jacob Tierney redonne espoir quant à la possibilité d'un cinéma adolescent bien de chez nous aussi intelligent que divertissant. En résulte un The Trotsky un peu trop long, rempli de mignonnes maladresses, mais d'une intelligence extraordinaire. À ce titre, les références, les clins d'oeil et le génie des situations et de l'humour (ainsi que des justes réflexions sur l'adolescence) contribuent à situer le film dans des hauts sommets. Une très belle réussite, rehaussé par une trame sonore de Malajube très souvent au point (malgré quelques essais un peu trop appuyés).

Philippe Lioret signe un film dur, cruel, aussi percutant que saisissant, réalisé avec minutie en apréflexion posée sur un sujet actuel ramené à des thèmes universels, tel que l'amour et l'amitié (atypique). Porté par des interprétations de hauts calibres, les rares longueurs parviennent à peine à rabaisser le niveau ou même la qualité de cet excellent film aussi prenant que frustrant sur cette vérité qui n'amène que deux options: parler ou se taire.

À travers une sublime cinématographie vieillotte rappelant le teint sépia, le film dépeint un magnifique portrait d'époque à travers cette illustration dédoublée entre passion et obligations. Dominé par la touchante interprétation de Maria Heinskanen, le film, malgré un rythme lent qui s'avère fort gagnant, cumule d'extraordinaires moments de grâce.

Écouter un film que l'on savoure presque entièrement et qui nous rappelle ô pourquoi on aime le cinéma, ça n'a pas de prix et c'est pratiquement ce que Denis Villeneuve réussit avec cette première oeuvre qui évoque déjà une signature particulière avec toutes les qualités et les maladresses que ça impose. En résulte une oeuvre épileptique, étourdissante, secondée par de grandes performances, des répliques d'un naturel et d'une vivacité éclatante, voire hilarante, en balançant habilement entre énergie et rythme posé. Mené par une technique hautement maîtrisé, malgré un récit volontairement chaotique, on se retrouve dans de grands questionnements qui nous laissent respirer entre deux trois balbutiements. Pour une première oeuvre, c'est tout sauf unanime, heureusement et surtout, ça frappe. Miam!

Aussi hypnotisant que profondément troublant, le film trace avec brutalité et une cruauté assez directe le sujet de l'adoption d'un point de vue plutôt déprimant, mais également du point de la jeunesse tourmentée et profondément affectée, ce qui n'est certainement pas négligeable. Cette décision de se lancer sur un vaste sujet d'une manière aussi inattendue, à travers une belle maîtrise technique et plusieurs allez-retour fluides entre passé et présent, permettent aux différents acteurs de briller par leur intensité et leur réalisme. En découle un film semblant discret, mais fort puissant où l'on parvient en à peine 1 h 30 à exposer avec attention et minutie des circonstances ténébreuses qui, à défaut d'être pleinement obscurcient, laissent bien des questionnements en suspens, tout en gardant alerte la réflexion.

Un petit film aux grandes qualités qui laisse sous-entendre sans jamais trop brusquer. À travers une magnifique innocence, on masque une dureté plus lourde qui ne profite jamais de sa position pour forcer les émotions. Ne reste plus que les douces performances des interprètes, la réalisation soignée, la sublime direction photo, l'excellente musique et l'histoire fortement bien écrite pour nous laisser pleinement savourer cette touchante histoire aussi touchante que franchement romantique, malgré quelques réflexions sociales qui ne s'avèrent jamais brusqués. Lumineux.

Hilarant de bout en bout, au point d'en pleurer et de pratiquement en mourir (étouffé), MacGruber est une ode aussi savoureuse que franchement stupide sur ces films d'action qui se prennent malheureusement trop au sérieux. À tout ceux qui accueilleront l'ironie du film à bras ouverts, ils seront certains de passer un temps carrément irrésistible. Sublimement délicieux et jouïssif.

Un drame sensible et diablement sympathique sans trop s'alourdir inutilement. Divaguant dans un style téléfilmesque entre sitcom et mélodrame avec une touche américaine côté technique, mais fortement japonais culturellement parlant, le film s'avère un beau petit bijou qui se savoure sans prétention.

On ne peut le cacher, ça n'a pas l'étoffe d'un Pixar et heureusement, ça n,en a pas la prétention non plus. Ne reste plus qu'un divertissement d'animation hautement jubilatoire où une histoire complètement débile est servie par une galerie de personnages loufoques à travers des gags particulièrement hilarant, à travers un dosage extrêmement bien maîtrisé pour de morales bien servis, pas trop exagérés et des sujets d'actualité, sans jamais prendre trop de place. Savoureux du début à la fin.

Une histoire complètement folle écrite avec subtilité, réalisé avec une maîtrise extraordinaire. Un coup de génie étonnamment absurde et délirant de la part des frères Coen qui ne se privent pas pour y aller d'un abus de non-subtilité complètement incontrôlable. Brillant.

Une idée complètement folle qui donne un nouveau sens aux crises existentielles. Clairement les inspirations sont nombreuses, principalement de Kaufman, mais franchement, difficile de bouder notre plaisir tellement l'ensemble ne souffre d'aucune prétention et que la maîtrise s'avère prometteuse. Savoureux et mystérieux.

Un Jeunet surprenamment inclassable même si le style et là, la substance un peu en moins malgré quelques belles réflexions particulièrement modernes et bien de leurs temps. C'est d'ailleurs cette modernité qui sied autant bien que mal à Jeunet après un répit de 5 ans qui l'a, avouons-le, un peu rouillé. Malgré tout, la mise en scène aussi exemplaire qu'à l'habitude ne pourrait être plus efficace et son univers nous étampe avec bonheur un sourire du début jusqu'à la toute fin, auprès d'un film parenthèse qui fait plus de bien que de mal, en attendant un véritable retour.

Magnifique ode au cinéma avec des personnages à vif, des dialogues savoureux et une réflexion articulée, cette lettre d'amour, malgré quelques faiblesses non-négligeables, se savoure de bout en bout en empruntant à merveille à la Nouvelle Vague française. Délicieux.

Un film complètement brillant qui revire à 260 degrés la fameuse morale des vrais héros en jouant à la fois sur l'écart entre réalité et fiction, ne manquant pas de se permettre une entrée fracassante dans l'univers des superhéros. Reste alors un film d'une efficacité redoutable auprès d'une excellente distribution qui livre un scénario brillant et fortement bien écrit aussi touchant que réfléchi. Extraordinaire sur bien des points.

Un film sensible, touchant et surtout bénéficiant d'extraordinaires performances en plus d'une mise en scène exceptionnelle. Magnifié en silences et en non-dit on se laisse aller, encore plus lorsque la musique frappe à l'unisson.

Cumulant autant les bonnes que les mauvaises idées, faisant hommage comme toujours à l'inévitable Nouvelle Vague, profitant de son excellente distribution, en restant impeccable côté technique, Resnais signe un film maîtrisé quoique inégal, mais hautement satisfaisant pour ne pas dire souvent jouïssif.

Véritable bijou faisant écho à sa manière des films hollywoodiens les plus efficaces, Le concert traite de manière fantasmé et fantastique de ces histoires pleine de passion, d'amour et d'humour. Les scènes extraordinaires se cumulent à travers une cinématographie éclatante et une justesse sonore irréprochable. Sans oublier les performances etc., etc. Le concert est un vrai bonheur.

Sans véritable style personnalisé, James Mangols signe un autre film fort efficace témoignant de son incroyable versatilité pour créer le film d'été idéal. Immensément drôle et hilarant, sans pour autant délaisser les romances aussi troublantes que douteuses et les scènes d'actions bien chorégraphié, en plus d'un petit tour du monde bien accueilli, Knight and Day s'écoute décidément trop bien.

Faisant écho de la recherche de la perfection prôné par Pixar, Toy Story 3 est une deuxième suite scénaristiquement irréprochable mené tambour battant pour cumuler bons rires, belles trouvailles et surtout, belles émotions sans pour autant trahir son téléspectateur. Brillant.

Rappelant avec bonheur les moments les plus irrésistiblement bordélique de The Party, profitant aisément de son joyeux bordel des plus invitants (autant que dégoûtant pas moment) get Him to the Greek compte sur d'hilarantes blagues fortement solides en plus d'interprétations de haut calibre pour divertir à plein régime. De plus, la plupart des points visés pourraient difficilement viser plus juste.

Oui, bon, peut-être que ça aurait pu aller un peu plus loin, mais l'idée saugrenue est toutefois développée avec une telle maîtrise en nous emmenant toujours vers des territoires inattendus que le divertissement est de haut calibre et les rires des plus sincères. De plus, la technique est magnifique et le rythme des plus audacieux, sans parler de la délicieuse trame sonore.
