The Mission 1986,  PG)
The Mission
My favorite movie; if not for anything but the story it portrays. A story of love...hate...forgiveness, and all that comes between. The filming location is breathtaking, the musical score is one of the finest ever composed. If you never watch anything else recommended by me, please see this film.
2
Les Miserables 1998,  PG-13)
Les Miserables
One of my favorite movies of all time. The actors all did a stunning job in their portrayals; it was a moving and dramatic story that I immediately fell in love with, and I doubt I'll ever grow tired of.
3
Amazing Grace 2007,  PG)
Amazing Grace
A beautiful, beautiful movie that I believe should have an impact on anyone who sees it. I loved how real it was - how real and like our own the characters struggles seemed; and how very accurately history was depicted. If you're anything like me, you'll be needin' a box of hankies too.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
OmGIt'SOOOawesome!. Haha, okay, so maybe I'm a little enthusiastic, but really... this movie deserves the huge fanbase it's got. Brilliant acting by all four of the main performers, and supporting characters! Fantastic plot... quirky humor... sweet romance... breathtaking effects... and lots and lots of swordplay. What more could any movie-goer want?
5
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
My favorite in the trilogy, making it one of my favorite movies ever. It's just a mind-blowing, astounding, spectacular, beyond-you-wildest-dreams, wonderful, awesome, thought provoking, deep, perfect, EPIC WITH NO EQUAL!!!! You. Watch it. Now.
6
The Last Sin Eater 2007,  PG-13)
The Last Sin Eater
The best Christian movie I have EVER seen. The plot was refreshingly original, the acting was absolutely outstanding. It lacked the cheesiness most Christian movies seem to flounder in; and yet at the same time got a beautiful message across very clear.
7
The Matrix 1999,  R)
8
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi 1983,  PG)
9
Anna and the King 1999,  PG-13)
Anna and the King
A highly underrated film. Without doubt, this movie was not given the credit it deserves. With an equal amount of gentle humor, romance, action, angst, and politics - it was very well-rounded in my opinion. And then Bai Ling's stunning performance... especially in her death scene... gives it the intense appeal it deserves.

Arsenic and Old Lace 1944,  Unrated)
11
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2005,  PG)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Wow, once again Johnny Depp comes smashing out of the mainstream with his unconventional characters! I loved the new twist to an old classic, invitingly sweet and crazy! I appreciated Tim Burton's closer following of the book, as well as his fearlessness of going totally bonkers on the character of Willy Wonka. An awesome movie. One of my favorites.
12
Kingdom of Heaven 2005,  R)
Kingdom of Heaven
One of the best, unbiased depiction of the Crusades that I've ever seen. The realism of the action sequences is amazing (and perhaps somewhat disturbing), the subtle history is beautiful, and the story itself is touching and well acted.
13
Time Changer 2002,  PG)
Time Changer
Very well made film, especially for the Christian genre. The acting has nothing to be desired, and the story is clear and engaging. (I especially applaud the good use of humor in certain scenes.)
14
The Village 2004,  PG-13)
The Village
All in all, I loved it. The actors did a terrific job, the plot was intense and satisfying, the romance sweet but not overwhelming, and the horror creepy but not disturbing. Unlike what most thought, I found it far from cliche... a lovely tale worth telling... and seeing.
15
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End 2007,  PG-13)
16
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 2006,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Bloody brilliant, if I may say so. Although I wouldn't *quite* put it up there with the first one, I was not at all disappointed. Fantastic action, creative swordplay, quirky romance, character angst, and the continuation of the "Why is the rum gone?" joke. Although the plot went a bit haywire at times; in my opinion, it added to the overall hilarity and uniqueness of the Pirate movies.
17
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002,  PG-13)
18
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003,  PG-13)
19
The Princess Bride 1987,  PG)
20
National Treasure 2004,  PG)
National Treasure
For the record... Sean Bean is a smashing villain in this! And Justin Bartha adds a unique sense of humor as the geeky Riley. I loved it; historical wackiness and all.
21
Hidalgo 2004,  PG-13)
Hidalgo
Hurrah for a modern day cowboy movie! This was an awesome movie, I can't recommend it enough. Enough action to satisfy anyone, well-placed humor, and a bittersweet theme. Mortensen performed brilliantly, and one cannot help but instantly like the genuine, quiet, slightly rough character of Frank Hopkins.

Benny & Joon
*huggles movie* I lurf it to death. I never get tired of the cute Sam-Joon romance, the characters are so unique and wonderful, and Depp does brilliant as the sweet and comical Sam.

Hot Lead and Cold Feet 1978,  G)
31
Perfect Harmony 1991,  Unrated)
32
King Kong 2005,  PG-13)
King Kong
Peter Jackson has done it once again in taking a fairly boring plot, and transforming it into a breathtaking wonder. The acting is beautiful and classic, while Jack Black adds an amazing twist as the psycho movie directer - a role I would have never imagined him capable of. The effects are incredible - and that's an understatement, the characters much stronger than any other version I've seen of this... and my only complaint is that the ending was a bit long. Otherwise - movie brilliance at it's best.
33
A Walk to Remember 2002,  PG)
34
Monsters, Inc. 2001,  G)
Monsters, Inc.
Definitely one of the best cartoons I've ever seen. Pixar had a good idea, an interesting plot [even for adults!], and some insane humor. In my opinion, this was their best after Toy Story.

Flushed Away 2006,  PG)
Flushed Away
Alright, so this definitely got in the top ranking on my favorite animated films. Probably number 3 [Monsters Inc, and Robots being first.] It has so hilarious! And random. CRAZY RANDOM.

It was a bit freaky to see McKellen play a pompous, slightly insane, toad with a HUGE mouth. But he surprisingly pulled it off really well. And then his villain counter part, Le Frog, was hilarious! Andy Serkis did a great job as well, as a "overenthusiastic loser."

One of my favorite bits about it was all the cultural humor. The different British accents [posh, chav, cockney], then jokes about the French, and then the hilarious American tourists that pop up every now and then.
