I love this movie. A beautifully written, masterfully acted, and insightful film about adult relationships. Intensely intriguing and a genuine depiction of both the wonders and horrors of mature relationships. Natalie Portman, Clive Owen, Jude Law and Julia Roberts were brilliant in their portrayals of beautiful yet flawed characters. The film is successful because the audience likes all the characters at one time or another and they empathize and sympathize with all of them. The "paradise room" scene is intense and powerful and unforgettable. And amazing use of Damien Rice's beautiful song, "The Blower's Daughter." A beautiful, beautiful movie.
The best thriller I've ever seen. I found myself forgetting to breathe during a myriad of scenes. It was a perfect mixture of thrill, comedy and drama. Shia LaBeouf, as always, was brilliant; he's very skilled as an actor and has amazing comic timing. (An added bonus: he's hot.) David Morse is an incredible actor and brought a genuine creepiness to the film. I highly suggest this film.
I think this movie is the only movie to really express what it's like to be late 20's, early 30's in today's world. This movie will stay with me for a long time. An added bonus: the flippin' brilliant soundtrack.
Sofia Coppola created an absolutely brilliant and beautiful piece of art with this film. The chemistry between Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson is genuine. I love the subtle sexual tension between the two of them; where they are on the cusp of cheating on their spouses, yet they never get quite that far. The scene in which the two of them are laying in the same bed and Bob (Murray) gently touches Charlotte's (Johansson) foot is just about the most beautiful love scene I've ever seen.
Chuck Palahniuk's book was a perfect piece of art. David Fincher really did a terrific job making this into a film. Brad Pitt and Ed Norton are amazing. Helena Bonham Carter is brilliant. And, Ed Kowalcyzk from Live has a cameo. What more could you ask for?! "I am Jack's complete lack of surprise."
I was never really a Leonardo DiCaprio fan. Until I saw this film. He was absolutely brilliant as Howard Hughes. He was completely lost in the character. Kudos to Cate Blanchett for her phenomenal portrayal of Katharine Hepburn.
Kevin Smith's best movie. If you have ever spent a part of your life behind a counter at any kind of crap convenience store, this movie is just for you. It changed my life.
Masterful. Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins are brilliant in this adaption of Stephen King's short story "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption." It is filled with hope and love and justice.
Emotional. Beautiful. Russell Crowe was amaing in it. Joaquin Phoenix portrays the evil Commodus perfectly. Hans Zimmer's score is powerful, emotive and beautiful. The story and the score make this a perfect movie.
Loved this movie. Michael Bay movies usually give me a migraine, but this one was absolutely amazing. The special effects were jaw-dropping and Shia LaBeouf's comic timing was perfect. Best movie of 2007.
I love this movie. Revenge and love, pain and friendship, justice...all together in one dark, gothic masterpiece. There is nothing cooler than having a crow as your avenger, as a companion to bringing such evilness to justice. And, Brandon Lee gave his all in this film and lost his life while in the process. Rest in peace, Brandon.
Denzel Washington should have won the Oscar the year this was released. Both him and Ethan Hawke were unbelievable amazing in this movie. The story was intriguing and the characters were believable. I highly recommend this film.
Fantastic comedy. Awesome cast. Highlight: Jason Bateman's Pepper Brooks. "Ouchtown, population you, bro!" Oh yeah, the movie showcases one of my top five favorite comedy movie moments (between Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller while in the bar, check out Vince Vaughn's look after "touche").
Jon Favreau is a movie god. I never thought he'd be able to make a film comparable to "Swingers", one of my favorite films, but he did. Vince Vaughn's performance is irresistibly funny.
I could watch this movie all day. Jon Favreau has such a talent for writing wonderfully funny scripts. Doug Liman's direction was spot on. This is a fun, enjoyable and all around good-time movie. And highly quotable, which I love.
An inspiring tear-jerker about family, tradition, spirituality and fighting for a girl's right to be part of said tradition. Keisha Castle-Hughes' portrayal of Paikea is Oscar worthy.
In persistent protest from my husband, I absolutely love this movie. Highly quotable. A fun, attractive cast. Rory Cochrane is great in this. Ethan Embry's sugar-addicted freak is fantastically fun to watch. Good soundtrack. And Debi Mazar....who doesn't love Debi Mazar?
I'm not a fan of lots of movie gore, but I LOVE this movie. It's thrilling and creepy and I love that the cast is not well-known. This film started my love affair with Cillian Murphy who is sexy as all hell in this flick. Who wouldn't want him saving them from rapidly-moving, terrifyingly ugly zombies?
One of my all-time favorite movies. And, my favorite love story. The perfect depiction of life right out of college. What do I do? What do I like to do? Who am I? This movie meant a lot to me when I first saw it and still does. The soundtrack is eclectically fantastic. One of the most beautiful lines in movie history: "I do. And we all love her. I love her. She breaks my heart again and again. But I love her." An added bonus: Highly quotable.
Fantastic. The cast was superb. The story was original and the cinematography was absolutely beautiful. The supporting cast members were just as wonderful as the stars of the movie. I highly suggest this movie to everyone. George Clooney at his best.
I loved this movie. I've never been a Bond fan, but my husband dragged me to this one and I fell in love. Daniel Craig was amazingly hot and perfect as James Bond. This Bond seemed more like a "real" person and not some elitist who plays with non-existent futuristic technology. It's a sexy, fun movie. And Chris Cornell's theme song "You Know My Name" is an added bonus. ADD ON (12/8/07): Just watched this movie again. Daniel Craig IS James Bond. This movie is unbelievably good.
Christian Bale completely reinvented (and saved) the Batman franchise. He brought a dark intensity to the character; a believability. Batman Begins is definitely the best Batman movie.
Bill Murray's greatest movie. No matter how many times I watch this movie, I still enjoy it as if it were my first viewing. One of my favorite comedies.
The best Christmas movie ever made. Every year, we plan this big viewing of Xmas Vacation and every year, it's just as funny as the first. It's such a stupid movie, yet hilariously brilliant. "Don't throw me down, Clark." That's just funny.
A real-to-life love story. Strangers becoming friends becoming true loves. This movie is a staple in my collection. It's one of few on a list of movies that I watch whenever I'm sick enough to necessitate bed rest. Bill Crystal and Meg Ryan will always be one of the greatest film couples in romantic comedies.
As always, Christopher Guest has made an instant classic. His go-to ensemble is brilliant once again as absurd, folk musicians. The title track, along with"Potato's in the Paddy Wagon" are the highlights of the soundtrack. And, the highlight of the movie is definitely the always hilarious Fred Williard. "Wha happened?!"
Another bloody brilliant mockumentary from genius Christopher Guest. The cast is amazingly scrupulous as the owners/handlers in the obscure world of dog shows. There is not one bad performance in this film, yet Parker Posey, as high-strung yuppie, Meg Swan, is undeniably the highlight of the entire movie. "This? This is a fish. This is a fish! You know what? Just shut up."
Sadly, this is an easily forgettable gem. I absolutely love this film and I think it's under-appreciated. The ensemble cast is brilliant. Michael Douglas has never been better.
A harsh look into a sad reality. Beautifully filmed and masterfully acted. This Oscar winning piece of art will remain one of history's greatest films.
Combined with a beautiful and powerful score, this period piece is a delightful depiction of action on the high seas. Russell Crowe shines as Capt. Jack Aubrey. The supporting cast is equally as brilliant. An added bonue: Crowe and Bettany put themselves through rigorous training to learn the violin and cello, just for the film. That's dedication right there.
A movie that will be near and dear to my heart forever. I love this one. "Would you say I have a plethora of pinatas?" Extra kudos for the "My Little Buttercup" scene.
This guy is my hero!! I LOVE Drew Barrymore and would have loved to be able to do this, just to have the courage to do this. And too see how cute Brian Herzlinger is in it, how willing he is to show his flaws and self-consciousness. And, Drew Barrymore is just about the cutest, friendliest woman in Hollywood.
Jim Carrey is utterly amazing in this film. Kate Winslet is adorably perfect. And the two of them together make this film an absolute gem. The story is original and Ellen Kuras did an outstanding job in with the cinematography. This isn't just a movie, it's a work of art.
After seeing this for the 12th time today, I realized how good this movie really is. The action scenes are well choreographed and the chemistry between Brad and Angelina is pretty hot. However, the best part of the movie (for me, anyway) is the humor; some of it subtle, some of it pretty blatant. Brad Pitt is just a wonderful presence in this movie. It's also a very sexy movie.
A beautiful, emotional, well-wriiten, masterfully acted, and majestically directed. The cinematography was absolutely stunning. It was raw and sad and real and gritty. Clive Owen played the perfect anti-hero; an everyday type of guy who has given up on life, a drunk, who slowly begins to live again. It's a beautiful transition and Clive Owen is amazing. The cast is just wonderful. Alfonso Cuaron has created a masterpiece. The audience can really see the time, energy and passion that was put into this film by all the cast and crew. I highly suggest this film to everyone.
