Danny Deckchair
Danny Deckchair is a clean romantic comedy. For some reason this movie really moved me. This is a feel-good movie that has a happy ending (with a surprise joke for the viewers).

I could relate to Danny living in denial, and hoping that he could just ignore his problems and they will "go away". The stress of the big city was too much for him, and he was longing for adventure.

I could also relate to Glenda, who is strict and conservative, but learned to loosen up when Danny "dropped" into her life, much like the way my wife and daughter taught ME how to enjoy life.

There was a lightly sentimental moment where Glenda remembered how her father used to bring her for a ride on the motorcycle just for fun. It wasn't supposed to be a sad moment, but I cried because I was that father. As soon as I can afford it, I am getting another motorcycle. I didn't realize how much it meant to my daughter.

This movie wasn't as much about the balloon trip as it was about his new life pretending to be somebody important in a simple town. The empty deck chair is "floating" around somewhere waiting to expose him as a fake, but he doesn't want to go back to his past life. He just got too "carried away".

If you need a movie to "lift" your spirits and "lighten" an evening with friends, I recommend this movie. I have to stop this review now because I'm running out of puns.
