Shaun of the Dead 2004,  R)
Shaun of the Dead
Not only a must see but a must have.Shaun of the Dead takes every thing good about the zombie genre and makes it better with a great story and a great cast. Shaun of the dead will easily become a cult classic and with amazing direction from Edgar Wright this movie quickly became my favorite movie.
2
Hot Fuzz 2006,  R)
Hot Fuzz
Hands down the best cop movie ever.An amazing cast, hell theres is even 2 Bill Bailey's in it (kind of). A great movie from director Edgar Wright. Who really shows us that not only can he hang with the big directors but is much better then most of them. Keep a eye on this one he is destined for greatness. The chemistry between Pegg and Frost is excellent as the feed off of each others talent making ever scene outstanding. Last but not least Bill Nighys small but unforgettable part is a must see for all nighy fan. See it if you haven't seen it , buy it if you haven't bought it.

The Fly 1986,  R)
The Fly
This is a perfect movie. If I could make a movie like this in my life time I will have felt like I knew something about movies. Jeff Goldblum should have won a Oscar for his performance in the fly because its so amazing. I could write all day talking about how great this movie is so I'll stop right now.(nn)
4
Big Trouble in Little China 1986,  PG-13)
Big Trouble in Little China
When I seen the trailer for this movie as a kid I knew I had to see it. Jack Burton and the pork chop express where the batman and bat mobile of my time.Packed with action, comedy, great effects, fun story, and a great score. This is John carpenter at his best."Its all in the reflexes"
5
Freaks 1932,  Unrated)
Freaks
Ahead of its time. dark as they come and a ballsy move on Brownings part to cast real authentic (freaks as the movie calls them). Then top it all off with a cruel story line and you have your self a hit. (nn)
6
The Return of the Living Dead 1985,  R)
The Return of the Living Dead
One of the greatest zombie movies ever made.Trust me I have seen a lot of bad zombie movies. James Karen and Don Calfa steal the show in this bloody yet funny at times brain eating extravaganza. Watch it with a open mind and remember that it was made with a low budget in 1985. It to me is great horror film making from Dan O'Bannon.Who I would love to see directing again.
7
Iron Monkey 1993,  PG-13)
Iron Monkey
This is a must see for Donnie yen fans. Incredible fight scenes that only Yuen Woo ping can bring you. This movie has it all romance, action, comedy, and drama. You can however skip out on the sequel.
8
Battle Royale 3D 2001,  Unrated)
Battle Royale 3D
Now this is a great story. I hope that people can get past there laziness to not read subtitles and watch a great story unfold on film. With a very believable cast and good direction. this is a must see especially for Manga fans.
9
Seven Faces of Dr. Lao 1964,  Unrated)
Seven Faces of Dr. Lao
Before Eddie Murphy was running around in fat suits acting out several different characters there was Tony Randel who plays seven different parts in this movie and every one of them convincing. If you watch now days sure all the effects are out dated but watch it like you were back in 1964 and then the effects will blow your mind like it did mine when i was a kid. the only thing that keeps it from receiving 5 stars is the story.

10
The Evil Dead 1981,  R)
The Evil Dead
An indy classic. Some of the first run of movie's I studied when I knew I wanted to make films. Sam Raimi was born in Michigan the same state I was so he was some what of a icon and I looked up to him very much. As much as I love the spider man movies they will never take the place of the evil dead series. A must see for any horror or Raimi fan.
11
Twins 1988,  PG)
Twins
This movie has a special place in my heart. Just the concept of trying to pull off Arnold and Danny as twins is good enough for me. The movie does have some great gags in it and is worth sitting down and watching it. Who knows maybe I'll make the remake of this classic comedy some day.
12
Chinese Super Ninjas 1982,  R)
Chinese Super Ninjas
This is a amazing movie, You have to love the 5 elements idea. I remember watching this movie count less times growing up mainly because it was my brothers favorite movie and secondly it just rocks when you want to see a movie full of fighting and blood. A must have in any ones kung fu collection. (nn)

Shaolin vs. Lama 1984,  Unrated)
14
Jing wu ying xiong (Fist of Legend) 1994,  R)
Jing wu ying xiong (Fist of Legend)
The end fight alone is worthy of 5 stars.
15
True Romance 1993,  R)
True Romance
You want Actors? This movie has them. You want action? This movie has it.You want drama? This movie has it. You want Romance? This movie has true romance. A script by the great Quentin Tarantino that has you wrapped up in the story seconds into the movie. This movie is a must see even if its just to see Gary Oldman's amazing performance along with Patricia Arquette's corkscrew scene and Brad Pitts stoner role make this movie a instant classic.
16
The Machinist 2003,  R)
17
Curdled 1996,  R)
Curdled
The reason I loved this movie so much is for the originality of the story. The darkness of the humor is a plus as well its to bad that its not a popular movie but maybe its for that very reason its a gem in my eyes.(?)

In the Mouth of Madness 1994,  R)

Drunken Master (Jui kuen) 1978,  PG-13)
Drunken Master (Jui kuen)
Woo-ping Yuen and Jackie are a unstoppable team. This movie put Jackie on the map and is a very important piece of film history. I don't know what up with this poster they got up here because that pictures is taken from the legend of the drunken master filmed many years later, Any way check this one out if your a kung fu nut.(nn)

The Legend of Drunken Master (Jui kuen II) (Drunken Fist II) 1994,  R)
31
Army of Darkness 1993,  R)
32
Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)
33
True Lies 1994,  R)
True Lies
This movie here is Schwarzenegger at his best. Cameron really pulls the best out of Schwarzenegger while delivering to us a action packed funny yet very interesting story line. I don't think there is a dull moment in this movie. The real reason to see this movie though is to see Tom Arnold's performance. He steals the show every scene he is in and delivers the one liners even better then Schwarzenegger. "Yeah, I remember the first time I got shot out of a cannon."
34
Oldboy 2004,  R)
Oldboy
Now this is how you make a movie. A crazy person, living a crazy life, doing crazy things, with a crazy ending. I was totally sucked into this movie from the second it started and I will never forget how i felt when i seen that hall way fight scene. I know im a film geek. (n)
35
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Wo hu cang long) 2003,  PG-13)
36
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind 2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
I first read the script to this movie before I actually seen it. I was so amazed by the chemistry between Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet but the most amazing thing about this movie is the story. Its so relateable that when you see it you cant help but think about a love lost or a love you wish you could forget. This is a close as you get to a perfect drama movie.
37
Kill Bill: Volume 1 2003,  R)

Titanic (in 3D) 2012,  PG-13)

No Country for Old Men 2007,  R)
No Country for Old Men
Wow this was a great work of art. The acting was the best i have seen in a while and the script and the dialog where top notch. Many times I forgot I was watching a movie. Many people complain about the ending but I think they are just use to being spoon feed a certain formula of story and the Coen brothers are changing it up a bit. It felt like blood simple in some parts (a earlier Coen brothers movie) and the fact that there was no score and its no even noticeable is another plus. This one will go down as one of the greats for sure.(nn)

The Descent 2005,  R)
The Descent
Wow! I don't know how many times I have seen this movie sense its release in Mexico which was about a year before the united states release. This movie is going to hold up very well in the years to come and I feel confident saying that it will become a cult classic. Do your self a favor and get this movie turn off all the lights and have a great time getting freaked out. (nn)

Remo Williams - The Adventure Begins 1985,  PG-13)
Remo Williams - The Adventure Begins
Don't be fooled by the cheesy title of this movie this is when movies where fun and exciting. This movie has everything in it. You have to see it to believe it. This was one of my favorite movies growing up. Not many people have even heard of it let alone seen it. Search high and low to find this one and it will be worth it.(n)

Fargo 1996,  R)

Almost Famous 2000,  R)
Almost Famous
Wow after watching this movie I know that I have to have a sit down with the director Cameron Crowe and pick his head. Every frame of this movie is awesome. Every dialog is well written and beautifully thought out. This movie felt so close to home and took me back to places in my own life that I both loved and hated and when a movie can get into some ones head and heart then you know the director did his job at the end of the day.So all I can say now to Cameron Crowe is job well done.

Squirm 1976,  R)
Squirm
Here is a movie that marked my life as a kid. I just loved watching it and it might not even be that good to a normal person but I would always find myself renting this or talking about this movie as a kid. from the looks of this movie poster on flixster they must have released a newer edition that I don't know about I might have to investigate that.
