Really good film that puts a much needed spin on the super power genre. The cloverfield handheld stylee is very well executed and whilst not the longest film it seems to be very well paced. Only goes down hill with the very final act which goes a little cliche but generally its a very entertaining film, the fantasy remains grounded for the most part even when the characters dont.

you get what you pay for, its funny in places but annoying at times too. Terry Crews is the best part of this film hands down.

Not only the best comic book adaptation of all time but my favourite movie period. This film single handedly proves that with good direction acting a sharp script and dedication an adaptation from a medium like a comic book does not have to be a simple cash cow. The story is complex exciting intriguing and at times terrifying. This movie expiereince has somthing not only to appease but to delight everyone. Fanboys who want a gritty realistic batman that stays true , check. Blockbuster fans who want bangs for the buck. check. Fans of gripping emotional dramas and romantic tragedies. check. Fans of crime films that has as many plot twists and genuinely believable/terrifying characters as the departed and the godfather ? double check. But the core strength of this film is the power not only of the message it portrays but those who do it. The cast is solid with as you'd expect performances from bale caine and freeman. But the real power in this movie comes from gary oldman and the two villains. Aaron eckharts two face is exceptionall as a microcosm for the good man in todays dog eat dog society and how we can all fall, whats more nolan has crafted a villain thats looks beyond what anyone anticipated. But ultimatley its Ledger that steals the show, his joker will be remembered above and beyond jack nicholsons as one of cinemas most iconic villains and he deserves to win an oscar for this breathtaking performance. The tag is "you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain". Thanks to this role, ledger's tragic untimely death will not stop him being remembered as the former and beloved by film fans forever.

Beautifully crafted, wonderfully acted and undeniably exciting this is without doubt the best film from a cinematographic point of view ever made. John Travolter and Nicholaus Cage have rightfully both come under scrutiny in the past but in this case both men embrace the characters whole heartedly and play the roles to absolute perfection. The plot is extremley farfetched yet it somehow sewn so well together by the perfect tempo and pace of the film it becomes believable. This is pure escapism and any audience will be able to appreciate aspects of this film. you have not lived unless you have seen this.
