Rebooting the entire Star Trek franchise would be quite a trick, if it wasn't for JJ Abrams. He did what Jackson did for the Lord of the Rings; the impossible! God, how I loved this thrilling amazing adventure! It has it all, and it all fits perfect! One of my all time favorites, and totally one of the best of 2009!

By far one of my favs, this amazing sf-horror movie is really one of a kind. The handy cam and deep-from-the-heart acting, effects, sounds, setplace, etc..makes this probably the most realistic horror movie, even though is it sc-fi... This monster flick is why I adore movies.

A true masterpiece. Wonderful directing, acting, storyline, ending... You rarely see this kind of perfection in a movie. By far 2008's best.

The Brazilian masterpiece!

A Masterpiece. Nothing more. Why can't there be évery friggin' month a film like this? :p
Some may say this is just a fine typical 'feel-good' movie, but no, it's not! It's so much more!
Not only because of the amazing Robbins & Freeman & the rest, not only the amazing chilly prison setplace, or the unbelievable hard realism in prison, oh no, it's the most excellent story that stands above all! I've never (only with Sixth Sense perhaps) been soo suprising by a story! This IS masterwork!
There are sooo many touching & amazing scenes (Brooks set free, the Big Oak, the music throughout the prison, explaining the escape, the ending,...!) and so many wonderful quotes, (like "Keep busy living or get busy dying", "Forty years I been asking permission to piss. I can't squeeze a drop without say-so" lol!, or "They run this place like a fuckin' prison!" lmao!, "I could shoot the manager while I was at it, sort of like a bonus", & many many more...), but the one says it all, is just the tagline : "Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free." Damn right!
Without a DOUBT one of the best pictures of the '90s, and EVERY friggin' one should have seen this! Excellent!

Another amazing movie of the Dardenne brothers!! One can say that the shoulder's cam make him/her sick. One can say that this movie is boring and that nothing happens. One can say that half of the screen is wasted by the Olivier Gourmet's face close-up (an AMAZING actor!).
But, at the end of the movie, you can feel the power of the movie. You are moved by this movie because Gourmet and the Dardenne's expressed the purest emotions. See it!

This is not only bout Barris' life, but bout life in common too...makes u think about it, especially in very end, when Barris explains his 'new' show; 'The Old Game'... it left me with open mounth...!

Splendid typical Flemish movie, located in Antwerp early '90s! Movie where u'll think about life!
The story itself is quite simple... a Belgian guy and a Moroccan girl fall in love. And because of their parents, friends and neighbours wouldn't understand (or approve of) their love they have to hide it. You could say it's a modern "Romeo & Julia", but in a racial context...!
Really must-see, even more if ur Belgian! xD

Eventhough unfortunately not very known, this is one of the best sc-fi movies ever! It has it all, very intelligent movie and a ending to you'll never forget! Must-see!

Bourne. A name I will never forget after I watched this excelllent movie to end by far one the best trilogies ever. I am a fan for life with this intelligent action series! Matt Damon is amazing.

Truly an unique amazing movie. Visually stunning, sweet humor and love, and an adorable Gael Garcia. Eventhough I really don't like Charlotte Gainsbourg, she did an awesome job. Realisme and fantasy goes hand-in-hand, a real must-see!

Thank god for Al Gore. Whatever you can say about him or this docu, it really achieved its goal; awaken more and more people about our (wrong) way of life and what awaits us! The Oscar was more than deserved!

What a documentary. It left me bare naked. If there is ONE docu I can recommend for you, this is it! The tagline for 'An Inconvenient Truth' should have been placed here; "By far the most terrifying film you will ever see." Damn right.

Perhaps the best Biographic movie ever, with one of the most brilliant performance ever. Jamie Foxx IS Ray Charles. He looks like him, sounds like him, acts like him. Unbelievable. A must see, and no, you don't have to love Ray Charles to adore this movie!

if you're addicted to movies and chocolate like me, you gotta love this one xD. An amazing sweet movie, great acting by Binoche. The little village and her shop is so adorable, it is like a world on it's own. A real must-see, with an universal theme; it's a story of the human condition and how even deep prejudices can be overcome by the simple act of kindness and the willingness to strive for individuality.

Brilliant script along with great performances. It's full of energy, totally hilarious, and it's awesome for some good laughs, since it contains some bitter and cynical humor. One of fav movies!

Finally a decent classic-remake! Of course this movie wouldn't have been the same for Will Smith. As 'Cast Away' was for Tom Hanks, this one is for Will Smith. After this I was more than convinced Smith is one of the best actors alive. Eventhough the CGI totally sucked, it's a great action sf movie. The band he has with his dog...his Bob Marley music...his hunger for love, and his dermination to find a cure, makes this MORE than worth it!

Hilarious movie, with the again awesome duo Simon Pegg-Nick Frost. Eventhough the *SPOILERS* whole village-complot and shout-out at the end didn't really fit the movie in my eyes, this one is a great comedy flick!

An amazing trip. The hilirious duo Depp-Del Toro was amazing, the facial acting of Depp was UNBELIEVABLE lol. A joint/weed while watching this, and you'll get a movie experience you'll never dreamt of!

Just like 'About Schmidt', this one really makes you think of life when you reached certain age. Nicholson and Freeman's portrayls of terminally-ill cancer patients was very well done, especially when they still were in the hospital. I would have done the exact same thing as they. Great ending.

Amazing and very moving potrait of the great Nelson Mandela, and his time in prison.. Mehboob Bawa & Joseph Fiennes are both great actors.

Thank god for the Dardenne brothers. What would we be without their amazing and moving films? This one if by far one of their best, it leaves you bare naked! Great acting, and a very realistic portrair of one's despair! Of coure, I wouldn't even THINK of selling my child, but it shows perfect how the situation is down there. One of the best Belgian movies ever.

What an epos, what a movie! The best performance of DiCaprio by far, this movie is one all should see! It captures Howard Hughes life more perfect I'd ever thought it would! Do buy it on DVD! Probably Scorsese's best.

Wonderful movie, just wonderful. The first half hour is probably Pixar's best. When he goes with the space ship, it does loses some of it innocence, and the humans aren't very good and realistic potraited, but this remains of the year's best! The humor is unforgettable! Just as the universal theme of course is!

Every Simpsons-fan will love this movie. It isn't perfect, it looks somewhat 'watered', and even feels like a very long episode, but it has all the succes-ingredients that made Simpsons the #1 series of all time. Lots of laughs, lots of action! Really must see!

Amazing. A superbe action trip, and by far better than Batman Begins. The acting is splendid, but like all would or should agree; Heath Ledger stole the show like hell. His performance of the Joker is a thrilling and brilliant performance, and will left a scar in your brain.
Eventhough this movie is far from perfect or the best of the year; the voice of Batman is ridiculous, Two-face is not believable, quite some chlichés, Gotham is much less darker than it should, Batman itself should even have gotten more screenplay, and Maggie Gyllenhaal is just purely bad, in every way.
However, it is one of the best super-hero movies ever, and its story and moral goes deeper than at first sight.

What a great movie, a joyfull unforgettable ride! While it lack some story line, it has it all! Sf-action to left you on your seat, nice powerful acting, babes, cars, and above all, humor! Intelligent humor even to say! Just sit down, and enjoy a more than splendid sf-movie!!

Bond is back. With a refresing and though Daniel Craig. The movie one of James Bond's best ever, it is 100% Bond. The poker game can be boring for the other, but not for real movie lovers, the suspense make you wanna scream! A must-see!

A Excellent movie, a great sequel to Casino Royale and is necessarily darker in tone. Bond fans rest assured it's fantastic entertainment. It has to be agreed that it is lacking in old-school quips and innuendo, but in my opinion it is entirely in keeping with Bond's situation in this movie. There are some beautiful locations though, with great action-Bourne like scenes, and a very intelligent story. What I say, Bond is always intelligent :).
It does is darker, as Bond has shut down emotionally as a consequence of Vesper's death and is driven to investigate and, to some extent, avenge her death.
This is one joyfull ride, and one of the genre best films!

Amazing movie. Four stories. Three countries. One powerful film.
If you and so many others â?? found 'Crash' offensively finger-wagging (its inherent message was: "Racism is bad."), Alejandro González Iñárritu's Babel will make it up to you with refreshing intelligence, respect for cultures and crisp acting. The plot outline is difficult to do justice in one sentence but much like Crash it explores culture clashes in life by navigating multiple interweaving story lines. Excellent acting, for sure on Brad Pitt's behalf.
Must-see.

Great movie, wonderful, almost poetic, yet very sad. Ang Lee takes the icon of the though straight cowboy, and turns it into 2 young men falling in love. While they go their seperate ways, getting married, and having children, they still have a lifelong connection, while during their whole life wondering about the question "what if...?".
Gyllenhaal and especially Legder give strong performances, with great setplaces, and beautiful music. I hope no life are getting destroyed like this in the 21th century...love IS a force of nature. A real must-see.

A wonderful wonderful movie, one the best erotic films you can find. The relationship between Henry, June, and Anais is so full of sensuality and passion, this is one everybody should see! Of course it has a lot more than just passion; a great story with wonderful cinematography of the 30s, splendid acting and dialogue, and a very unforgettable ending! A must-see for all!

A visual art piece of film! Stunning! Absolutely stunning, and shocking! Beautiful, and yet oh so sad. Gene Kelly's musicals may never have tempted a tear, but this film sure did. This is the most creative and powerful film my eyes ever layed on. Björk should have given a bloody Oscar. Go watch it and let it take you by, with endless tears towards the end.

Another Chaplin masterpiece. What 'Modern Times' stands out of its humor, this one stand out in its charm. It is oh so beautiful, when the ending more classic then the movie itself. Chaplin's themes are totally universal, this will be loved for centuries to come.

Another piece of brilliance. Pure classic, with immence humor. Some scenes are so genius and humoristic, like when the house is about to fall in the valley. God, I love Chaplin.

Caplin's first masterpiece, and what kinda of a masterpiece! It is oh so moving, and universal! Jackie Coogan did some great and adorable acting for a kid! And after 88 years, this one still captures the best cinema has to give!

Chaplin's final American movie is a beauty, and can be considered somewhat autobiographic... It's a sad but beautiful story, a classic scene with Buster Keaton, and a great farewell by the Clown as the greatest comedian ever, to the world.

Undoubtly one of the best gangster movies ever!

One of the best and my favorite (sf) thrillers ever. This is an amazing movie, not suprisely based on Stephen King! Okay, the CGI is not that great, but the idea of the monsters counts. And even more; how slowly you see that the danger INSIDE the super-market gets more bigger than even the danger OUTSIDE. The ending is seed for critics, but it left me total shocked. Great realistisc acting. And it leaves you with one question; "what would YOU do when you would be in this kind of situation...?"
Ow, and the gigantic demon at the end is purely.....AWESOME lol.
