The critics are accurate in their assessment of this movie. I'm glad a movie was made about these men, and the combat sequences are thrilling, but I really wanted this to be a much better movie than it was.

It's an excellent film. It deserves the praise it has earned. However, I felt it was offensively excessive in showing me the villain's brutality. I didn't need to see a nude woman with severed limbs and tongue who had been repeatedly raped and then dumped in the street to understand how evil the bad guy was--give me credit for some intelligence, please.

The best Chaplin I've yet seen. He wrote the music, the story, directed and acted. Funny, charming and sad all at once.
Once Upon a Time in the West (C'era una volta il West)

The best Western ever and one of the most well made films ever. Worth it for the soundtrack alone. If you are a fan of the craft of cinema this film is a must see, especially for the integration of sound and image. It works so well it seems supernatural.
