One of my favourite movies of all time, this is a beautiful tale of an assasin who reluctantly takes an orphaned girl under his wing to teach her his trade, and in return she teaches him how to feel. Both Jean Reno and Natalie Portman are amazing, which is a little shocking considering Portman was only 12 at the time! |

A wonderful, heart warming story of love and survival in prison. Morgan Freeman is excellent and his narration sends shivers down the spine. Tim Robbins is magical as the man wrongly imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. Even the supporting players - from Bill Sadler to Gil Bellows - are spot-on. No matter how many times I see this film I still feel the same at the end of it. And that scene on the beach is elating - I don't want it to pan away, want to see what happens!! |
