There are no words for what this movie means to me. It is my absolute favorite, and has been from the moment I started watching it. It is, ah, to tip my hat to dear Jack... buoyant.
The first Astaire/Rogers film I ever watched, it had me hooked immediately. It was delightfully silly, the dancing was wonderful, and Fred and Ginger are incredibly good, playing off of each other.
It's a bit of a chick flick, but it's terribly sweet, touching, and it made me cry. Of course, I'm pretty quick with the waterworks, so don't take my word on how great it is. And Elijah Wood makes a cute kid.
One of the most beautiful Disney films... extremely stylized, but that's a good thing in this case. And YAY for Prince Philip-- he has character, he actually saves the princess instead of vice versa, he's charming... it's sweet!
Everyone should have a chance to know and love Star Wars... this movie definitely helped define my childhood! I missed the Eastern philosophy with the Force thing, thankfully. :)
While this movie was very well made-- cinematography, acting, music (oh wow, the music!) all very impressive-- it was not always enjoyable to watch. It's difficult to watch someone destroy his life! But in the end comes redemption.
This movie helped my imagination out quite a lot... I've read the play multiple times... and honestly just couldn't put it all together, and come up with anything that wasn't completely laughable. I really enjoyed this, and dang, Benvolio was cute. :) The acting (aside from the very, very typical nurse and Capulet) was really impressive. And yes... there's a nude scene-- that's what your remote, is for, people!
And the fight scenes... wow, Tybalt and Mercutio... that was a great take on that.
Before you watch this you should know that it is not 100% historically accurate. You should know that Wilberforce was a very flawed hero. You should know those things, and then sit down and watch a powerful, very well done movie.
This is a really fun movie, and the acting is better than a lot of lower-budget Mormon movies! The soundtrack is great. However, in the end it is a bit depressing because, well, they're Mormons, not Christians.
This is definitely worth watching at least once. Or twice. Or a lot. Streisand is just weird, and weirdly good, and I can't get enough of the kookiness of her character. The plot is, of course, silly, and it culminates in an amazing chase scene (IMHO, topped only by Bullit's). Very quotable, too.
This is a very well put together adaptation of the musical-- they added a few songs and removed others, but this benefits the movie. The library scene is priceless.
This one is extremely clever in a "You know, I wondered about that when I was a kid" way. It does have a couple annoyingly inappropriate things, but if you can get past those, it's great1
All of the A&E Hornblower adaptations are excellent. They aren't 100% identical to the books, but they capture the spirit quite well, and the production quality is high. The actors are also brilliant, and portray favorite characters quite well.

Yeah, it's a little cheesy. But it's not at all boring, Gregory Peck seems to be having the time of his life, and as a true Hornblower fan... it was gratifying. Do watch.

In this episode, they handle Hornblower and Bush's professional relationship and friendship quite well and neatly tie up the Archie thing.
First: It probably should be rated R. The violence and images are very intense, and it's psychologically disturbing. It's also awesome. The acting, the storyline, the cinematography, the characters, the sweet car chases... and the message. It asks a lot of good questions and gives sound answers. If you can handle it, SEE IT.
This is not an upbeat frivolous musical. It's an impressive look at family, community, and religious life. It has a lot of great songs, focusing more on the music than the dancing. The story line is very simple, but it definitely draws you in.
This is particularly good.. an amazing number of fabulous songs and dances-- some very upbeat ones, and a few more intimate, slow ones... and then the few silly ones.
...this movie has everything a Christmas film should have... I am very sad that I didn't get to see it until I was 17... it's really wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Definitely one of my top 3 favorites!
This is a great deal of fun, better than most Disney movies. It was very encouraging to me. It is a little rough, like they had to release it before they were done editing.
The only thing I didn't adore about this movie was the way Mr. Smith revered Abe Lincoln... and I'll forgive him that, because Jimmy Stewart acted it so well. It's a really impressive film, a deserving classic.
You love it or you hate it. I loved it... it's not particularly clever, it doesn't have a lot of plot-- but the acting and the script and the costuming... yeah!
it's pretty Disney... I think it would make a great kids' movie, but it was pretty hyped up and didn't live up to my expectations. The tunes weren't that great, well, really, the music was very cheesy. The dancing was okay. It was WEIRD, Christian Bale didn't have much of an accent while speaking, but adopted a horrible one while singing... maybe he really can't sing! However, I enjoyed it, and that's defintely worth something in a movie.
On the one hand, I want to make EVERYONE watch this movie. On the other hand, I'd like to keep it to myself... it's like a big secret, or a private joke... it's just wonderful.
This cracks me up so bad every time... it's funny because they do some very stupid things but they learn that if you want to be good you have to work your tail off
This is really much more than a musical... and the more I watch it, the more I love it and realize how closely it follows Romeo and Juliet! Great songs, AMAZING dancing, and George Chakiris rules!
One of my absolute favorites! SRK and Kajol are always magical on screen together, and this is such a classic. Incredibly sweet and a great family introduction to Bollywood.
Karan Johar does not believe in limits, apparently. I find it amazing that there are actually deleted scenes from this film... it is huge, and it is all beautiful. I love every single one of these actors and characters, and I would watch K3G every day!
It would be hard for me to describe what is so excellent about this movie. The characters, the setting, the story, the songs (except Kaisi Hai Yeh Rut, lol)... everything is just right. A good one for Bollywood beginners.
