A Serious Man 2009, R)
Probably my 2nd favorite Coen Brothers movie of all time, behind Fargo. (Honorable mention goes to Barton Fink, Raising Arizona, Miller's Crossing and O' Brother.) It is an absolutely talmudic tale of a search for answers, both tangible and spiritual. Stuhlbarg is brilliant and the ending blew my mind. I kept sitting there saying "Wow" to myself. |
