robert downey jr gives an amazing performance as tony stark, a high-profile explosives engineer who behaves more like a rockstar than a professional business man. after escaping an ugly encounter with some thug terrorists, tony reconstructs the home-made device which got him out of his last, but not final, predicament: a very, very high tech suit enabling him to, among other things, crush people with his bare hands, shoot bullets from his knuckles, and fly alongside fighter jets. thus ironman is born. |

a total chick flick, i know, but i've fallen for it. starring a couple of my very favorite people in the business, and complete with the obligatory heart-wrenching 'mushy' moments, i can't resist this film. absolutely love it. by the way, tim olyphant and jennifer garner have great chemistry. hope they will make another film together sometime in the near-future. |

8 Mile 2002, R)
what a great storyline...a financially struggling man who is eventually able to both make a better life for his depressed mother, his young, neglected sister, and himself...by using his biggest asset- his rapping and rhyme skills, and to overcome his own personal fears and struggles. it's about overcoming any kind of adversity using what natural talents you got. what a great message. love the soundtrack, by the way. |

hannah8211 posted 3 years ago
reasons htman is my fave-
5. love the sound track
4. cool feel and look to the film
3. some kick ass action scenes
2. interesting plot (to me!)
1. tim olyphant
honestly, i think just the fact that i was watching a film where tim olyphant actually STARRED put kind of sweet glaze over everything else and made it seem better than it would have than if, say, john goodman replaced tim. lol
