Scent of a Woman
Al Pacino in one of his best roles. The stories plays out in quite a gentle way with Frank Slade's trip to New York. Chris O'Donnell does a decent job as the naive schoolboy who's just trying to keep up with the events surrounding him. The music is excellent. However, it's the finale that wins the day. Just when you think the film is over, the Pacino speech comes out of nowhere and steals the show. An excellent feel good movie.

Die Hard
Fabulous film, for some reason I can watch this over and over again, each time I enjoy it just as much. Alan Rickman is great as the pissed off terrorist, annoyed that his master plan goes wrong. Bruce Willis plays the reluctant hero perfectly and the explosions are wonderful.

Amélie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
This is a fabulous story of a girl who seems slightly out of touch with reality and sees everything differently to the norm. It's full of quirky sub plots (the gnome!) and fascinatingly strange characters but at it's heart is a beautiful love story told by the gorgeous Audrey Tautou. It also makes the french language sound very sexy :)

The Dish
Love this little film, it's a quaint sub story with the backdrop of the moon landing. It's quite subtle comedy and some lovely little characters.

I love the idea that one of the biggest events of the 20th century was in the hands of 3 "normal" blokes in australia.

Hot Fuzz
The first 15 mins made me nervous, not many laughs but as the plot developed and more characters were introduced, the laughs and the story really kicked in. Great cast, great characters, well rounded plot and some fabulous one liners. Not as neat as Shaun but certainly more ambitious.
