Toy Story 3 2010,  G)
Toy Story 3
When I first heard about this movie, I said it was going to be good, but I was wrong.........IT WAS AWESOME! They put SOOOOO much into this installment! I could watch it over and over because its just too much. Ok first, let me start with the styling and originality which was as great as the first movie. It was just so colorful and animated! I like that they kept a balance within all three films. You still recieve that Toy Story feeling which made you fall in love with the first one. This movie made it the prime example of a great movie about toys with tremendous originality. It was just.......so.....very original and imaginative! The styling was great as always because.....its from Pixar of course lol. I love the humor in this one as well. A mixture of both childesh humor and somewhat mature humor too. Not to mention its memorable humor as well which really brought this third film to the triology to a hilarious end! It was great to see our favorite characters back in action again! I even liked the style and design of the new characters, as well as the new host of great cast members too! But nothing was as awesome as the story, moral and....drama. The story had the same flow as always in which the toys go on this great adventure while at the same time they are learning, growing and laughing. The story in this one was so much connected to the prequels. This sequel was the actual climax to the Toy Story Saga! Nice action and plenty of suspense along the way too! I like the little dark side to it as well with this sequel's new villian. Nice little morals to learn from, for example: to teach us that at some point in our lives, we must move on with life and take new roads when the old road has been closed. Then...theres the drama. For an animated movie......they packed so many teary eye moments in it! There was more drama than humor! I dont know about anyone else....but that ending really, really....really did it for me. A very strong emotional movie! This installment had so much....so much that I don't even think it needed the 3D effects! This is truely an awesome end to TOY STORY!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 2008,  PG-13)
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
wow.....I mean WOW! I usually don't watch many of these kinds of science fiction movies but ....WOW! They did a great job on this one. The Story, Plot, Narrating, Characters, Setting, Everything was just great and fit so well for the whole film, I mean ..WOW! It was very creative, and yeah I admit too, it was a bit too long for me but worth it none the less. Its probably the only drama/romantic movie I can watch over and over again.......with a break in between those 3 hours. lol. Still I love it. It has to win an award of some sort.

Avatar 2009,  PG-13)
Avatar
Best movie to enter the new decade with! I can watch it over and over again! I love everything about this film! Great use of CGI effects. Was done very beautiful. The enviroment was just colorful and very imaginitive in my opinion. Great storyline with how everything came together in the climax. The action was really out of this world! I was on the edge of my seat through out the entire movie. This really was very creative. I think that a lot of thought went into the story but the CGI was just WOW! I think that is what really won me over is the CGI effects. I see that a lot of the long movies are great movies lol. I like the dialogue of the natives. I love this imagintive world they created with the natives, the creatures of the world, and they even gave the natives some type of goddess to worship, tight! Also great choice of cast members, Sigourney, as always, did great playing the role of a character in a sci-fi. I think. Other than that, still love the action, drama, sci-fi, romance, adventure and CGI. O yeah, one more note, kind of makes me wonder....would the human race really do something so inhumane for money? I see Avatar as a great movie to end 2009 and enter 2010!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 2011,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2
I am sad....yet greatly satisfied! The movie saga truly was a journey. I mean, from the first film, we actually grew a little more with each movie from there on. Just like the novels in which it challenge our imaginations, the movies helped us lived the experience the world of Harry Potter! This last installment had everything! It is among movie sagas with very dramatic endings! It had everything, suspense, the mystery, action, adventure, romance, drama, inspiration, artistic styling, good acting, humor and imagination. All of these came together well with the overall story of Harry Potter. The mood in this one was far from the kiddie feel as in the first one. It was more darker than any of them. Actually they made it a little more darker in each one. This one was ACTION packed too! The final battle between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemont was good even with the altercations that made it slight different from the novel. The battle at Hogwarts was jaw dropping and had eyes glued to the screen. I liked how all charms and spells the characters used from A to Z came together in that battle! Romance was more teen romance, especially between Ron and Hermione, so good acting from those two. Also good acting from Helena Bonham as Bellatrix, man...she sure can play the part of an insane evil witch! Also, its not Harry Potter without the mystery and suspense. Those parts are really good that even those that have already read the books, were shocked again! So much emotion, so much! You was laughing, you was scared and you was crying. I'm still so glad they went with fresh new faces for our three main stars because we LITERALLY grew up with their characters and the actors/actress themselves through out all the films and the same for all other characters! The effects, the effects, the effects worked greatly with the 3D! The Harry Potter saga is amongst those movies that really challenge your creative side and imagination. So glad they did a two part for the finale. A saga is only great if they all come together in the end and this one delivered just that and enough said on that part! And for J.K. Rowling....you are a Genius...

The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
Truly was a Dark movie. The Joker was such a villain, no other batman villain from previous batman movies can top him, much love to Heath Ledger for a great performance. The only problem was Bruce Wayne voice as Batman, still good movie over all, pack with action, drama, mystery and laughter. "Lets put a smile on that Face!"
7
Jurassic Park III 2001,  PG-13)
Jurassic Park III
They really packed this one with loads of actions! Again though, not as much thrills and jumps as the original but its cool with me. Starting to lose me on the story and thrills though but the movie makes up for it with a little humor great action scenes! T-rex vs. Spinosaurus was tight! The stampede was tight! The Velociraptors were tight! I like that they introduced the Pteranodon in this installment as well! And again still very creativity and imaginative. CGI was better than before too. I still see it as a great adventure thrill ride!
8
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End 2007,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
Truly a great end to an trilogy. I love the final battle of the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman, as well as the sword fight between Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones, nice, just love the visual effects, I just wish they have gotten the Oscar for best visual effects, they really should have!
9
WALL-E 2008,  G)
WALL-E
Greatest animation movie of the year! Great story ( as always with Pixar). Great animation (as always again with Pixar). It is just too much of an adorable, funny, futuristic and cute movie. Never have Pixar put so much in there movie as this one. I mean not only was there action and adventure but love and romance, plus a messenge for us to learn from. I really love this movie, cant get enough of it. Pixar really out did there selves, might even be better than Finding Nemo.

12
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 2009,  PG-13)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Its like I said, it will be this summer's hottest movie! This one was wayyyy better than the last! There was never a dull moment, I was fully entertained through out the entire movie, they had me on the edge of my seat looking forward to see what was to happen next. Just one question, did they think about kids under 13 as fans of Transformers too?.....but that problem didnt bother me that much. I mean this installment has none stop action! Not to mention, it was even more funny than the last one. The twins are hilarious lol! Sam's parents were funny too, especially his mom. I see they added a little drama, mystery, and romance in it as well. Great new host of characters! I love the battle/war scenes between the Autobots and Decepticons! In my opinion, there is NO other summer movie of 2009 that can top Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The Lost World - Jurassic Park 1997,  PG-13)
The Lost World - Jurassic Park
Great CGI effects! Nice story, I kind of saw a little moral in the storyline of the movie but thats just me. This one was funny too! Had more humor than the original one. I think because Jeff Goldblum was the leading role actor this time. Wasn't much thrills as the first one though, seems some of that got replaced with the loads of humor. Great action scenes and as always, it was an adventure. It churns the imagination of anyone of any age. I like that they changed the settings by placing the T-Rex in a human populated enviroment. Overall, Love it!
22

59
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I love the wand battles and the last duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort but, I must agree, it was kind of a rush in the storyline, I can understand though, since the book was longer then the previous ones, that they had to cut some things, still tight

It was tight! Very good action movie.
72
Psycho 1960,  R)
Psycho
Greatest Mystery & Suspense movie I have ever seen. Never saw the ending coming! The storyline, the mystery and the creepiness was all on point. I see now why it is known as a great classic because it truely is one.
73
Star Wars: The Clone Wars 2008,  PG)
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Although it didn't have everything that George usually puts in the Star Wars saga (romance, drama, mystery). It lived up to its name by showing us a more in depth look at the Clone Wars packed with double the action and adventure. Thats good enough for me. The animation was great and the story was ok. I liked how they put in some humor as well, the droids were hilarious! Just wish they had did the opening credits a little more like the originals. Also wish to have seen General Grievous in the movie but at least I will see him in the tv series. Other than those things, it was action pack, adventurous, had great battle scenes, great new characters, great lightsaber duels and like I said, it told a sideline story of the Clone Wars.
74
Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children 2005,  PG-13)
Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children
Greatest animation effects I have ever seen! Tight fight scenes and characters. I really fell inlove with the animation, it looks so REAL!
75
Kung Fu Panda 2008,  PG)
Kung Fu Panda
Great Animation, Great Comedy, and a Great Storyline to truly learn from. And before I forget, the ACTION was sooooo TIGHT! It worked well with the awesome animation. I really loved watching this movie, it was total Awesomeness lol.
76
Pearl Harbor 2001,  PG-13)
Pearl Harbor
Great war scenes! The drama between the nurse and the two pilots I can do without but it was ok I guess. The film was a bit too long though to only have a few big action scenes. At least they were great action scenes, nonetheless! Overall, its still a strong and great reenactment of our history.
77
Up 2009,  PG)
Up
AS ALWAYS, PIXAR HAS DONE IT! This was Pixar's most teary and touching film yet. Very, Very dramatic and emotional. The animation is always on point but it isnt the animation that their audience love so much but their great skills in telling their story and ability to catch our hearts. Their movies are always well animated, funny, dramatic, romantic, action, and even very educational, I mean everything is in their movies. I think UP is Pixar's finest example of how emotional and touching they can get with their films. I mean, of all the Pixar movies........this one actually made my eyes water. I wonder what they have in store for me next year, I might just actually burst into tears, crying lol.
78
Terminator Salvation 2009,  PG-13)
Terminator Salvation
The action was on point! Would you believe after seeing the movie three times, my aunt kept falling asleep on it LMAO! I, of course, didnt fall asleep, I was entertained all through the movie. I mean, its a sci-fi, so of course it will have my attention. It was great to see different varieties of machines. Adding the famous quotes in the movie was genius. Just wish we had seen more of like the traditional battleground scenes in it. I love that Arnold makes a cameo appearance.
79
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
This was a great start to the trilogy. I actually saw this one last lol. Again Johnny did a great performance as he always does. I love that he plays such strange characters and does it with great interest in his heart. Nice action scenes and sword fights. Captian Barbossa was a great villian but not as evil and cruel as Davy Jones, of course. I was a little bit lost with the mystery/ story but was later on able to put the pieces together to know what was going on.
80
Norbit 2007,  PG-13)
Norbit
Eddie Murphy's best work, it is just toooo funny, so....HOW YOU DOIN???? lol
81
The Golden Compass 2007,  PG-13)
The Golden Compass
Even though I have yet to read the novel, the movie was still very imaginative and creative. Although I became lost in the story at certain points, I was still able to keep up with the storyline of the movie. Awesome effects and great cast. Overall it was a great fantasy movie. There was hardly a dull moment. I only have one negative thing about the movie..........and that is the sorry ending. I hope the ending meant that there is a sequel planned.
82
District 9 2009,  R)
District 9
Nice......very NICE! I love this movie. I had to watch it again and again. I like how the aliens look......well......like real aliens. Aliens are suppose to look like something not from Earth and not humans with some make-up to them. Plus, they gave them there own language with subtitles, nice touch. I like the documentary storyline. It was a great touch to the movie. The CGI was tight! Like I said, I watched again and again, cause I was stilled left hanging and wondering on certain things left out. But now, Im no longer lost, I understand the movie fully now and whats going on. Like why the Aliens are there, why they cant get back home, why were they still on Earth, why were the government trying so much to keep the aliens there, and what the government agency were up to from the start they discovered the aliens. But I mean, the only negative I can find is......if this was to happen in real life.....would we really be kind and give them a home or blow them up? Anyway, back to the movie, it was tight. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The aliens and there spaceship were tight. The plot was nice, Love the cinematography used and documentary feel to the the storyline. Its also like a hit in the face on reality, like our own world in real life is like that (minus the aliens). District 9 is among my favorite movies of the year 2009!
83
Monsters vs. Aliens 2009,  PG)
Monsters vs. Aliens
Very funny! I think Dreamworks step there game up with the animation! Great pick for cast. Nice little twist on old fashion monster movies. Some studios should seriously think of bringing them into the CGI age. But yeah, this was very funny. B.O.B was the funniest, No wait, the President was the funniest lmao. I laughed through out the entire movie. The 3D effects was tight, really good use of that technology.
84
9 2009,  PG-13)
9
Nicely done film. It had action, suspense, thrills, and mystery. The artistic style of the animation was tight! It worked well with the dark feeling of the movie. I was able to follow the story very well in understanding what was going on. I love its little twist on machines taking over. Usually machines are fighting against humans but in this film, they are fighting robotic dolls. I like the dolls by the way. I like how each had there own personality and purpose for being made. The machines were the best! Just wish to have seen more of them, maybe even a war scene between the dolls and the machines or something lol. The film was short in my opinion, maybe too short, didnt want for it to end. The ending was ok but would have been much better if 9 had the power to put the souls of the others back into new dolls. Also, it would have been a nice touch to add a little humor in it. The brain machine was tight! I like its metal arms and dark thinking with a taste for revenge. Overall, the movie was very artistic and that is what I like most about it. I hope to see more from Shane Acker.

Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire 2008,  R)
Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire
WHOA! I usually don't watch too many of these type of dramatic films but somehow this one caught my eye and my heart as well. I see it as an African-American version of Cinderella set in the real-life world. Truly is a touching, very moving, and passionate movie. I love the variety of cast members of both familiar and new faces. Gabourey did her thing playing the role of Precious! Great job on Mariah Carey's part, hardly recognize her! Paula is hot! Never have I witness a movie that touched on just about every little issue in our society. I like how it was not too serious but had some humor, romance, and a little fantasy too. I mean really though, for the serious parts, this film had me with teary eyes at some scenes lol. I think I like these type of movies that pertain to the real world but only a few of them lol. Still love my Fiction lol. Probably the only movie of its genre I will put in my favorite list, the ONLY! In my opinion, it is the movie of the year!
86
2012 2009,  PG-13)
2012
Truly an awesome thrill ride! The visual effects were very nice. The storyline and how everything came together in the end was done very well. I kind of feel that the beginning was a little rushed though. The movie had nonstop action all through out. Not only was there action but mystery, a little romance, drama, political ideals, humor, and adventure. Speaking of the romance or I would say drama, I didnt care that much for it. Ive notice that in most disaster movie with that theme in it, its always about a divorce couple getting back together to save they're children from a worldly disaster. Other than that, it was ok I guess. I love it more for the action anyway. They should make this a real thrill ride at a popular amusement park!
87
The Princess and the Frog 2009,  G)
The Princess and the Frog
I have three words..............DISNEY IS BACK! Watching this movie, I felt a feeling I havent felt in a long time from watching earlier disney films and that is the true Disney magic! This really was a great inspiring movie, no doubt about it. I love everything about it, the story, the traditional 2D animation, the message, the romance, and again the magic. It truly is a touching movie that any age and I do mean any age will love because everyone on this Earth has grew up watching Disney films if not one, so they know exactly what I mean when I say they are back. I love that is was very, VERY funny, probably the funniest yet! Great music! Great host of characters! In my opinion, it makes for a great animated movie to end 2009 and enter 2010!
88
The Mist 2007,  R)
The Mist
Very Nice! Had me on the edge of my seat through-out the entire movie. The Mist, in my opinion, is a film with lots of suspense, thrills, mystery, good acting (minus those annoying yelling), very intense scenes, humor, and some drama. I mean really, there are really over the top intense scenes dealing with both just violence, humanity, and religion. The commercials for this movie threw me way off on what I thought it was about at first. This is a film that challenges the human mind, actions, and beliefs. I dont want to say too much and end up spoiling the mystery effect of the movie but this really is a great movie to see and enjoy. O yeah, did not see that ending coming at all! One last thing, as a little heads up, there is one really, REALLY annoying character in the movie and I wanted that character to died from the very start of the scary parts, lol. But I mean in situations like that, you dont act like that, I mean really.....your only calling for death to come get you. Its like I said I think this movie was sort of made to challenge humanity in the case of a situation like this was to.......somehow really happen. Otherwise, it was a very entertaining movie!
89
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3) 2009,  PG)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3)
A great thrill ride! The animation was good besides it was no different from the last two. Although it lacked a moral unlike the ones before it, the humor was great and much funnier than them! They packed this one with loads of humor and loads of thrills. Probably was lots of thrills to go with the digital 3D effects in theaters but it still did it for me in regular 3D. Again, I like the styling and design of Ice Age's world and animals in it. I like how they design the dinosaurs with similiar funny design qualities as the mammals. Again, great host of cast members.
90
Fantastic Mr. Fox 2009,  PG)
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Great stop-motion animation! Great host of cast members! I like the plot and the flow of the story with nice style of narrating. The moral in the story was ok. Very entertaining and very fun to watch! The use of artistic-style with the animation was right on point and very beautiful. It was very genius and clever to make this. There wasn't a dull moment anywhere. The mature/dry/silent humor made this a very funny and hilarious movie! Also great sarcastic humor too. It had action, adventure, thrills, and drama. It was exciting to watch this, couldn't take my eyes off it. Overall, this movie was.........Fantastic!

Ponyo
Great animation, as always! A good moral to follow but not as dark and serious as the previous films of Miyazaki. Of all Miyazaki's masterpieces, this was the most colorful. Was much more appealing to a much younger audience because it was more cute too. I like the opening and closing credits to the movie! Love the artistic style! Ponyo is very fun and loving. A nice Miyazaki's version of the little mermaid but I still cant help it that something was missing and at sometimes I became lost with the side-story. I didnt get the same feel as I did with Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. At least it was pretty funny and was full of wonder and magic as always. Nice host of cast members. Very creative and imaginative but still stuck with a sense of reality which gave it more independance. As an aquarist myself, I like the variety of aquatic animal species, as well as the beautiful setting and enviroment created for the movie. Good twist to the story of love. Very magical and entertaining! A very great Miyazaki's masterpiece.

Coraline 2009,  PG)
Coraline
Great Clay/Stop-motion Animation! Very imaginative and creative! It has nice suspense and a catching fable story that has a nice little moral to it. Also, I like the flow of the movie. The artistic style is great! I love the wacky characters. Very funny and just too entertaining! Again, the animation its on top of its game. Its seems just as traditonal 2D animation, stop-motion animation is making a great comeback. It was almost as great as The Nightmare Before Christmas. Would have been just as great if it had more songs. At least it was a little more creepy than Nightmare. Still though, it was very magical and fun to watch!

Alice in Wonderland 2010,  PG)
Alice in Wonderland
I enjoyed this version very much. It was entertaining with not one dull moment! Great visual effects! The magic and wonder was there with a dark side to it. Great host of cast members. As always, Johnny Depp delivered, he was the best choice to play the Mad Hatter! Helena was great as the Red Queen too. The story and plot was nice, not great but still good and pretty easy to follow. I mean, where did this White Queen and the dragon come from? At least it was funny and reminded me a little bit of the original but I wish there were some songs. Still though it was certainly made by Tim Burton. A nice revisit to wonderland through the eyes of Tim Burton. Also, it was good to see familiar characters and hear familiar quotes from them! Overall it was a wonderfully darken version of Alice in Wonderland!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Much better than the previous installment "Order of the Phoenix". Even more mysterious too! This one was pretty good! Even though it has a much darker mood in the movie, I still felt that same great feeling I got when I saw the first installment "The Sorcerer's stone". I love the suspense and mystery! I just wish the wizardry combat were more intense. I like the dramatic and romantic conflict between the major characters! As always, great visual effects and acting. Very imaginative and creative. I know some things were left out that are in the book and not in the movie but still it was good and the movie got its point across this time. I like the easy flow of the movie, nothing felt rushed! And again, the dark mood to it was great! Can't wait to see how it will all come to an end!

How to Train Your Dragon 2010,  PG)
How to Train Your Dragon
Real Nice! Another great step up in animation for dreamworks. They went more with action in this one and it went well with the special effects of 3D! It was very entertaining and action pack! Nice style and animation. The moral was nice too. Good humor and some drama but still doesnt come close to as great the action was! Very imaginative, colorful and creative! The dragons look tight! I like how creative they were with coming up with the different species of the dragons and their abilities, ah it was nice! Even though, the movie appeals more to a much younger audience with the cute and crazy design of the dragons, it still was interesting. Overall, NICE!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2010,  PG)
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
I for one, have to say.......that I really, really enjoyed this movie! I dont know what it is about it. Maybe its because everything that goes on in it....I once could relate to lol. I mean like peer pressure, social status, building character/ personality, friendship, growing up, some family values, school life, etc., all of that stuff! It truely was entertaining to me. It wasn't that much childesh. Very funny, never a dull moment! I like the compassion and family, as while as friendly values. The acting was pretty good. But I mean, the humor really does takes the cake in my opinion lmao! I laughed at almost every scene! The storyline or script isn't that important I think, but its the overall feel of the movie and what you learn, as well as what you remember of your school days that I think is suppose to catch you. Good moral to be learned in the end but I do not think it will change society of our schools lol. But that's ok because it is based on what goes on at school and like I said, I can relate to it because it had not all but most things that go on at many schools! I certainly can watch this movie again and again!

City of Ember 2008,  PG)
City of Ember
This was very entertaining in my book! Full of mystery and suspense! A nice children sci-fi movie with a great host of cast members. I haven't read the novel its based upon yet so not sure how much like the novel the movie is. I felt a sense that some parts from the novel weren't added to the movie. Some things that happen in the movie left me pondering or wanting to see much more of. It still did a good job though in my opinion. The setting, time, plot, characters, and style were all on point for me. Very nice adventure! Yes, mainly for a young audience but still caught my eye nonetheless. The genre that stood out the most is the mystery and suspense, very nice. It also had a few thrills that did indeed had me on the edge of my seat, just wish it had a little more and the humor part was ok, I guess because it was humor for a younger audience. The science fictional side of the movie was good. The city sooo very much fit the title! The ending is the only negative comment I have. Could have used some work unless that is how the novel ended as well, I don't know. Overall....Nice!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 2010,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1
They saved the best for last!!! This installment was FAR from child's play! It had everything! All rolled up in one.....and its only part 1! I was never lost. I stayed with the story and plot for the whole ride. Things from previous installments greatly connected to this first part of the final masterpiece. There isn't really much to say but good, no wait, great things about this installment. It had action, adventure, of course plenty of fantasy, thrill, romance, drama, humor, suspense and mystery. I like that we saw more action, thrill, drama, and mystery. It was as if I was with our trio of heroes trying to solve the mystery to finding the Horcruxes. So much thrill in this installment that I was constantly on the edge of my seat. Many jumps and surprises everywhere! The chase scene was thrilling. The drama was not no little teenage drama but real-life older drama. The action was just....AWESOME! I mean, new spells, charms, and attacks. A+ acting from everyone! I can't wait to see more of our heroes and my favorite evil witch, Bellatrix. So glad the producer(s) and director did not rush this one. The flow of the movie had a nice understanding flow to it to the very end. The mood of the movie was a mix of everything, dark and light. I hope and believe this installment was as close to the novel as much as possible this time. Especially since they went out their way to make two parts for it. By the way, I like that little animated scene telling the story of the Deathly Hallows, nice touch to the movie and artistic style! Again, this is only part 1 of the Deathly Hallows but still everything from previous installments were starting to come together perfectly within it! Greatly await Deathly Hallows: Part 2!

The Host (Gwoemul) 2006,  R)
The Host (Gwoemul)
Entertaining, Very! This is what monster movies are suppose to be like! Such tension and thrill. Nice suspense and dramatic scenes. Full of surprises and jumps left and right! Everything came together perfectly with the story, plot, characters, mood and the action. Pretty nice acting! I felt the emotion of the daughter being taken away and the family just ....flipping out about it like that...maybe a little too much of causing a scene too. Speaking of that, the movie was humorous too. I mean, a funny moment will happen when you least expect one to happen but it was ok. The plot and background story of the monster coming about was good too. I love the story of the family with all different backgrounds, personalities, traits, opinions, all coming together trying to save their youngest family member. Then the star of the movie, the host, the monster, was tight! Creepy design and scary appearance. It has you pondering, is a mutated fish, salamander, what? I also like that we saw the monster numerous times through out the movie....unlike in Cloverfield....sorry. This was more than just an monster movie but a thrill ride and an adventure. I hope others that plan on making a monster movie will learn from this one!

Quarantine 2008,  R)
Quarantine
Very thrilling in my book. This movie is really being underestimated and underrated. I think it deserve a little more praise than it gets, just a little. I can see how its predictable with the first-person camera, a virus turns people into zombies and typical government cover-up plot but think of the originality. It was just as any zombie horror is suppose to be. Plenty of thrill and suspense. I for one, was constantly on the edge of my seat! I have yet to see [Rec], so I will say that when I see it then my rating for this might change based on that one, since from what I heard this is suppose to be like an United States version of that movie. But for this one, Awesome! There were many jumps! The acting was believable from some of the actors/actresses. Some things didn't relate to what a person would do in that situation in real-life though but hey, its fiction anyway. Plenty of moments I felt like looking away but didn't want to miss anything, you know? The ending was the best and the scariest! Speaking of the end, the whole story of the virus came together ok, not good but ok. Just know I was smart enough to catch on as the movie progress to understand how the virus came to be. Lots of action too. A horrific thrill ride! Very scary movie. The setting and time worked perfectly with the genre! Surely cannot watch this alone, so......you've been warned!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 2008,  PG-13)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Indiana Jones for the new generation of movie goers and of archeology! I received a feeling that I haven't felt since Temple of Doom! It has action, adventure, mystery, romance, suspense, thrills, humor, drama, history and yes, what you usually find in a Indiana Jones movie, Science Fiction. I really was on the edge of my seat for most parts of the movie. Favorite scene would be the chase scene through the jungle! So much action was packed into this one, really. The acting by the actors/actresses was just as good and LaBeouf did a pretty good job. The storyline in my opinion, was on point. At least there was a connection with the previous movies of the saga! Indy is reunited with Marion from the first movie, can it get any better than that! As always, they put in a lighter side to the story by adding humor, more than previous ones actually. I also admire that again we got that feeling of being young archeologist following the great Indiana Jones on his adventure. Exploring and seeing exotic places. Experiencing supernatural phenomenons in his fictional yet somewhat very real environment. Even the stunts were the same as the originals! I would like to point out one thing though. A lot of fans, critics, people, etc. are complaining and keep pointing out the aliens. If you read or watch your history, a lot of archeologist, scientist, explorers have theories that these skulls are not man-made or at least were made through supernatural powers. And yes, they have found some of these real crystal skull. Then, look at previous Indiana Jones movies, how do we know for sure the power of those artifacts or even if they have such power. Also, I must add, just like the prequels to Star Wars, it was made for movie goers of the 21st century generation. To use new movie making technology and include updated facts from archeology. With that being said, awesome movie in my book!

Kill Bill: Volume 1 2003,  R)
Kill Bill: Volume 1
If you wasn't entertained by this movie...watch it again. I know I personally was certainly entertained! Had to have been the best action/kung-fu movie of 2003! I love everything about it. Never a dull moment. The story and plot was just so put together! Never got lost watching this, never even fell asleep. I love the flow of the story. Explaining this, how we got here, what happen here, this person background story, etc. Only thing I'm concerned about is they really only gave one character, O-Ren, her own scene as a bio of her come about to the main storyline. Why not gave Vernita Green, Budd, Elle, even Bill himself one. But nothing too serious, liked it. Everyone acted their part and showed personality through doing so. The movie was mainly about the ACTION! Among the best fighting scenes I have ever seen! It wasn't too science fiction yet not too dull and it was indeed acts that can be done. Then the variety of styles, also brought it all together. The animated scene went with that character it was talking. This urban wild west feel and the silent suspenseful imagery (black and white filming). All together. made for a movie of pure....Awesome!

Kill Bill, Volume 2 2004,  R)
Kill Bill, Volume 2
This installment was nice. Still entertaining, action packed, good story /plot, good acting. I like the acting from Esteban. I like the scene he did. The coolness and laid back personality of his character truly brought in the scene. I liked Pai Mei too. That actor and character went together so well. This serious, sort of heartless, ill-tempered old man was some character. Uma Thurman brought her character to an action packed happy ending! In my opinion, she played the role right. Once again, like the first, I had one minor problem that could have been changed and made the movie better and as well have more balance with the first. That is...there were less epic fighting scenes. I mean, I don't know but she wasn't fighting much in this one. Only true epic fight scene is between The Bride and Elle. That was a scene! The ending of the fight...nice touch. The result of the fight added to the feeling of revenge on so many accounts. The combat moves of that fight was at the top and intense! So was The Brides moves in other situation of the movie. At first, I had a problem with the fight between her and Bill being short but....at least it was still epic with that move she did! The styling and artistry was still hands on. Also, the editing and the cinematography of was done well. Again, everything came together to be an action packed movie. We finally saw an ending and it was an happy one. Kill Bill is not only action but its fun and entertaining too besides all the violence. Everyone's story, especially our main character, The Bride, came to their end. Kill Bill is truly an pioneer of urban stylize wild west and martial arts movie of the 21st Century!

The Thing 1982,  R)
The Thing
First off...don't watch this alone...you' been warned but know you will like it! In my opinion, among the best horror sci-fi of its era! So lets begin with overall plot, nice. Of all the places, the setting is placed in Antarctica, good right there from the start. The movie wasn't too fast and wasn't too slow. We got to the action parts at the right moment and nothing was left out. This idea of the monster or actually an alien being a shape-shifter...genius. The acting was fine but doesn't matter because was too concerned about the thrilled moments at hand to worry about that. Loved the mystery, the plot went well with the mystery, it was mysterious. I mean, throughout the entire film, you mind was constantly pondering! You never knew whats about to happen here, whats going on there, why they doing, what are they doing and who is...The Thing. The suspenseful music and silent moments really fit the mood of the film. The animatronics fit greatly for this type of movie and that isn't because it was made in the era when that was popular but it just made it more creepy! The creepy horror was everywhere! This that movie to take your girl to watch and she can't help but want you to protect her lol. It also had that psychological fear for you. I mean, they had to put that in there with that setting, of course. The only some what negative criticism I have is I just wish the ending was maybe a little different. I mean the part when we last see the Thing. Other than that, I was entertained through out the whole movie. Very creepy, mysterious, suspenseful and hardcore too. I mean, again the puppetry/animatronics did an amazing job! Truly horrific imagery it was. The Thing is among the best of horror movies I have seen so far.

Real Steel 2011,  PG-13)
Real Steel
Real Steel is Real Nice! A very good movie for anyone. Any age will be entertained by it. From the preview I thought it was all for young audience but no, it catches the attention of all. Had a little bit of everything in this movie. I usually stay away from movies involving the sport of fighting but I guess you put robots in it and I'm in! Lmao!

First off is the drama. I like this story of a father being reunited with his son and they fight the odds of not seeing each other for so long for it all to come to an happy new beginning for the both of them. Plus the situation with the father constantly being down on his luck and trying to just make it through. Its his son that restore that feeling and emotion of courage and believing. The humorous scenes did alright. They were more of kiddie or family oriented laughter but still funny and understood nonetheless. I loved the action scenes! The CGI went well with it and was done well. The effects went well with the mood of the movie as this futuristic Rocky movie but with robots. You felt the gleam of the lights at the fight. You heard the roar of the crowd. You sometimes was bobbing and weaving too! Speaking of that, it added some suspense. Like you was really at some fight rooting for you favorite boxer. He taking hits, missing hits and dodging...it was so real! Pretty good acting from all the actors and actresses, especially the young boy, Dakota. In my opinion, he played his part well and it was believable. Hugh Jackman did a great job too that maybe this was a warm-up for him being in even more serious roles. The design of the robots was awesome. They were design to the part they played, as well as the fighting style and function and even a little bit of their character too. I really didn't see much flaw with this movie because it really was entertaining and fun to watch. A very heart-warming sci-fi movie that entertained both the kids and their parents but I mean actually....most adults went to see it without kids! Real Steel is very creative with this concept of boxing being replaced with robots. Again with the story, that would had shine regardless, even without the robots, was marvelous. Very good motivating movie with a strong message. A message of courage, family, love, trust, loyalty, friendship, taking action, everyone is unique and special in their own way, being real and the can do motto. Then how all these emotions build up in our characters to the end in which we see how they have grown and matured from the start of the movie. It went well with the flow of the whole story! All these ingredients made for a good inspiring movie!

Overall, I enjoyed Real Steel. At first, I thought it was going to be all about robots here and there through out the entire movie but I was wrong because they captivated everyone with others things too. It was more than just some excuse to relate to or bring Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots to life....lol. This wasn't child's play at all, just real entertainment for all. Everyone can enjoy Real Steel.....everyone!

Drive 2011,  R)
Drive
This is the coolest movie....I mean, it just oozes coolness! Everything, everything, everything in this movie made up for that! The characters, the action, the drama, the music, the acting, the cinematography and especially the style! I must admit, that they threw me off with the title but I'm fine with it though because I was still on the edge of my seat even if there weren't many things pertaining to the title.

What I am talking about is the lack of car chase scenes. With a title Drive, I was under the impression, we were going to see car scene after car scene after car scene....really I did, I thought just full blown car chases, car crashes, car escapes, car races, etc. but...I was still satisfied and understood the title. There is a many motives to the title being Drive. Yes the main one is with our main character simply known as...Driver but then its about doing just that...with life. This didn't screw up the action though. The action was in the movie for certain! Every scene, every 3-4 scenes, there was some action. Trust me, that part of the movie does not disappoint. It still gets your heart pumping, adrenaline racing, gripping your seat and your girl holding tight to your arm for the whole ride because that is just what this movie is a ride and its a good ride at that! It is filled with twists and jumps, left and right that you are constantly surprised and stunned. The slight horrific scenes between our characters will defiantly make your jaw drop. Then our characters, OMG! The actors and actresses were WOW, especially Ryan Gosling. never seen him played a role like that. His character was the most believable! This serious, mysterious, laid-back, no-name (but Driver), sweet yet more a bad boy came out perfect thanks to Ryan. You will fall in love with his character, Driver, one way or another, I promise you! The drama he went through in the movie was good. You have someone like him falling in love and show a little bit of another side of him to this person, sweet. You got to relate or know his character to some point and we don't really know him like that! Literally, we don't know much about Driver! Just certain things he did and one thing he wore, told a little about him. I was trying to figure out the time setting but who cares, any time this movie was set would have still done it. The music was so dead on, I love the music! That smooth, up-beat retro 80's tune did it for me. Besides Ryan, what else really shined in the movie was the styling. You can't watch this movie and say I didn't feel anything just from looking at this, or hearing that, or remembering something from a certain era, you just can't. The cinematography, music and the style all came together beautifully with awarding you that feeling! I love that they went with that retro style!

There really is, in my own opinion I must say, nothing wrong with this movie. It was just that cool, I mean, come on? How can anyone get on even just one flaw about it? It wasn't just a roller coaster but a whole amusement park. The Fast and the Furious was child's play compared to Drive!

Battle: Los Angeles 2011,  PG-13)
Battle: Los Angeles
Its a good movie, very good. It did lived up to the genre of an action movie and was packed with action. I like the action, cinematography, mood, drama and suspense. Battle: Los Angeles is a great war movie but when it comes down to it as a sci-fi, it was good.

I was expecting to be seeing the aliens constantly and more detailed in battle or I don't know. It was fine, I guess. I love the battle combat between the aliens and the human soldiers! Both sides were intelligent. Both had significant variety of weapons....well the aliens had more which made it even more interesting on how our soldiers would stand up against that factor. Then both sides were good in combat! Correct me if wrong but we usually don't see too many aliens in war combat in a movie about invading Earth. Yes, we see them attacking us humans but hardly with their own weapons in hand shooting at us. Its usually always lasers, tripods, saucers and the ultimate mass destruction weapon but not face to face combat! You know what...I stand by my opinion of that now. Never seen a sci-fi movie based on alien invasion of Earth with weapons on hand and combating against not just a few humans but an army face to face! Genius, I really believe its never been done before! It gave us that real today's war scenario like from Iraq and Afghanistan. They could taken away the aliens and it'll just be a war movie. So yes it is similar to other movies before it but at an whole new level, that being the face to face combat. The style and cinematography was done well with this movie. That kinda documentary or the battle field journalist feel to it as you follow the soldiers fighting against the aliens, wondering how their going to get out of this one. The acting and drama was good. Nice to get some type of answer as to how people with any background would react to this type of situation. Good thing, they didn't put any romance in it because it would have certainly went down hill for sure. I do feel some things were left out. For 1st example, they should had equal amount of war and sci-fi genre, you know, 50/50 not 75/25. Like I would have loved to see the aliens on first day of invasion as in the movie ad poster and trailers but seems they cut those or edited them a little. Still loved the design of the aliens and their ships. Especially the aliens, not too humanoid yet not too close lacking human intelligence, just as I like them. The ships were creative with possible technology we humans can come up with. By means that the ships had rocket jets it seemed.

Nonetheless, I was entertained with Battle: Los Angeles. It is indeed action-packed, really it is! There was never a dull moment, it was either action or suspense to keep you going. Also, the effects, they were great. They worked well with the cinematographic! I would say it was better than War of the Worlds from 2005. This truly is a enjoyable, entertaining, slight dead-on war genre action movie!

Transformers: Dark of the Moon 2011,  PG-13)
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
This is the action movie of the summer! Now this one was much better than the last. The second installment, too many flaws, I sometimes feel like going back and take a star or two on my rating for it, really! This one, they were dead-on with everything. Not sure really that sure if this is the final one but if so, great way to end the saga!

Ok, two words....action packed! That is what made up this movie as it did for the last two but this 3rd installment, was triple the action. There were times, you would think, ok the action is gone and then BANG! its back like that, lol. Many scenes were all action. My favorite scene or scenes are of course the last scenes with the final battles of the Autobots and Decepticons. They went all over the place with it, which is nice for me! I don't want to give too much away and get really detailed about the scenes. I actually can't pick just one to describe because those last scenes make up for one altogether. But I can discuss my favorite Transformers. Optimus is tight again as always. I like how they incorporated him with his new design and transformation but I don't know, he didn't really use it to it's full function. Nice to see new transformer characters though. Crazy looking design and attitudes too! I love Shockwave! I also like the variety of different Decepticons. Soundwave look cool! They all were, so onto acting. Shia LaBeouf was good, nothing new to him with his role. The new girl, the model, Rosie Huntington, did fine but I don't know if its just me or can you tell it's her first time for sure as an actress? The parents of Sam, were hilarious as always! Always bring some humor into the move. I mean, there were other funny moments through out though from other characters and the transformers. Like the little transformers (forget their names) were funny that they gave him a little sidekick. Sorry they took the twins out. At least, this installment, they lower the dialogue because the second movie had strong dialogue, even some that was just too much and you was like, is it really necessary? Plus the little romance between Sam and his girl was good. Same feel to it with him still wanting to prove his love to this person while being a hero and saving the world...third time. Another thing I found ironic and funny with Sam...is him struggling to find a job after saving the world twice...some comparison to reality for us lol. Oh yeah, the mystery and suspense was nice! Many many things you did not see coming. Plus how it all come to an conclusion in the saga and connected to the previous movies but yet could have done well on its own was good. Really, look back at the previous two movies, they each had a different plot, right? Just a little editing, they could go on their own.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon was a thrill ride for sure! I was entertained from every aspect through the entire movie. I do sort of hope this is not the last installment because I want more, really I do. Oh yeah, love the connection to real life how aliens may be associated with Earth theories. This is the summer of 2011 best action movie, hands down...

Paranormal Activity 3 2011,  R)
Paranormal Activity 3
Warning: To those that haven't seen this movie yet, don't watch it alone! I had someone with me watching it and was still jumping out my seat. You will too, all through out the movie, for sure. This is my favorite one of all Paranormal Activity.

I was beginning to think these horror films that try to work with this 1st person camera perspective don't work but with this Paranormal Activity....it works. That is what made it so good. From the really big jump outs to the small simple ones as someone just saying "boo". I like the suspense build-up in this one which did well. I mean, we already know what about to go down, some ghost or paranormal thing attacking someone but don't know when it will start or if its really that at this and that moment in the movie sometimes. At least it didn't take long for those parts to start. And when they started....there was no turning back for you. You had to keep watching. The male character just kept you with him, wanting to know whats he about to do next, how he going to do this, when he's going to tell her, how can he help, what can he do and etc. The whole time, you are just going through this thrill ride with him and the audience. I like they put these little girls in the mix. Just so nice to see how young people just might react to a situation like this, you know? I mean, you will feel sad...maybe...but defiantly frighten yourself! its just that good, a jump here, surprise there and a scream constantly! The connection between this one and the other installment was good too. As a prequel, it did good, explaining the other two for us as to why those activities were happening. The mystery of if all had you pondering the entire time even when at the end of the movie and you've received your answer, loved the mystery of the movie. I just know, it was really that scary though, more scary than the rest. Each scary moment are my favorite. I seen it in theaters and each scary scene, the whole audience reacted to it! The ending too, wasn't as fancy but was good too.

The only thing, only thing negative I have to say or ask really, this is for the director now, why edited out so many good material from the movie? Have anyone seen the trailer? There are a lot, A LOT of scenes that didn't make the final cut and they look great! I mean, don't get me wrong, still was scary and understandable without but it could have been even more better if those were included some how. At least one of two of them. Could have just edit other parts to fit them in. Those were scenes some of us were looking forward to seeing, actually. They actually did this with the first one, right? Anyway, at the end of the day, the movie still delivered.

I really was entertained! This is a horror movie of this generation and century. You are literally on the edge of your seat, gripping someones arm, shaking your popcorn, wanting to close your eyes, arms crossed and/or slouch down in your seat all throughout the movie. If you seen this in a theater by YOURSELF...I tip my hat off to you, for real!

In Time 2011,  PG-13)
In Time
Pure Genius! For a action sci-fi, it had everything and everything about this movie made me want more. From start to finish it was accelerating! I was entertained by this, really.

Its just the overall story and plot that did it for me. I got the story just from the trailer and it won me over like that! Time is money! Think about that, really. What would you be going through, doing, living like and experiencing if time was your currency? In order for you to buy the simplest of things, as bread, you must give some minutes of your precious life. To get big things as even a car, you must give years of your life! Imagine that, really. That story and plot played well with the main character at hand. Justin's character Will doesn't have much and living in the slums and everyday is a struggle for him and others like him. Then from a sociological and psychological stand point, others that are going through the same thing as you, are they willing to lend you some time when its about to runs out? In this dog eat dog world they created from the real life world its not that hard to see how we too can relate to it. So then, this low-life Will gets a lot of time on his hand and I mean, think about it, he is from the slums, how he get all that? That is when the actions starts for him and for us. Then the action of the movie. Nice very nice, I like when things started to really getting intense with our main characters! They turned into a futuristic version of Bonnie and Clyde. Everything made sense too. I mean, at first, something I had to ponder after the movie to understand about but I did get it. The acting between our actors and actresses was good. The most dramatic scene was Will and his mom, I mean, really. Then the fast romance between Will and Sylvia aka Clyde and Bonnie was good. Two people from two different backgrounds but want to experience what the other has end up finding each other in the end and keep on the run together. I just wish the setting of the building and what not had look maybe more futuristic, you know.

In Time is truly in my opinion a genius's movie. It really does challenge the mind from psychology and sociology. Besides that though, it is a good action sci-fi movie. Tons of action and adventure and suspenseful scenes.I like In Time cause maybe I can relate to it. If you can relate to things in movies that kind of different from real life, that is a good movie. Anyway, I enjoyed it and have been entertained.

Black Hawk Down
A great war movie! Great action movie! I was entertained all through out the movie! Great host of cast members. Nice story related to a real-life story/battle. Great dramatic acting and scenes. Good emotions too. Not much to go on with this movie but the tremendous amount of action though!

It is the action that really made this movie. From start to finish it is full-blown action scenes! I love every scene in the movie because of that. If I had to pick just one favorite, I can't. The way it was filmed made you felt as if you were there too. You were running with fellow soldiers, you were on the helicopter as it was about to crash, you are dodging bullets and grenades, that is just as real the action felt. It really is the most realistic war scenes you will see. Very intense with blood and some gore. Some scenes made your felt what these soldiers went through out there. The combat scenes were defiantly feeling realistic! It will not disappoint! The story of course is set in a war in the 90s. They did a pretty decent job of giving that feeling of being there too. Not that much of an achievement because that wasn't that long ago from when this movie was released. Still good nonetheless though. The cinematography was great! Along with the artistic styling of the movie. It felt like a war movie or as if it was coming to life from the soldiers that went through that for real. The effects were on point too. That can be accounted for the great action we viewed. Plus the setting with the environment, props, vehicles, helicopters and costumes were good. Environment really stood out though! Must have been shot on location. The great host of cast members, I loved. Everyone on the cast has either been in a war or action movie! Good choices for this movie too. Good thing this movie was 2 hours because you just couldn't get enough of it! I wanted to watch more and more. A good dramatic war movie though because you felt their pain, sadness and anger too. What they were thinking and going through. They capture that beautifully!

Black Hawk Down made for a great dramatic action war movie! Probably the only war theme movie I can watch over and over! I loved it! Pure action, left and right, up and down. It had drama and some humor. Great scenes! Great cast. Truly entertaining and action packed from the start!
