North & South
I think this might overtake Pride & Prejudice as my new favorite romantic drama. Special accolades to Brendan Coyle who gave a marvelous performance as did Richard and Daniela.

Update: I cannot even tell you how much I love this movie nor how many times I've watched it. I still think it was very well done. A wonderful piece of work.

Mamma Mia! 2008,  PG-13)
Mamma Mia!
Absolutely Fabulous!!! I loved this movie! There is nothing that Meryl Streep cannot do!!! I still give homage to Hairspray but this movie must be placed above it.

The King's Speech 2010,  PG-13)
The King's Speech
Absolutely brilliant! So worth seeing. Incredible performances from Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush, & Helena Bonham Carter. Colin Firth was amazing and so moving. This movie flowed so wonderfully and made you feel every moment.

The Time Traveler's Wife 2009,  PG-13)
The Time Traveler's Wife
Beautiful story. Time doesn't interfere with love. Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana were wonderful together. Once again, not having read the book, I liked this immensely. How cute was Brooklynn Proulx! Jealous of herself - hilarious. Loved Michelle Nolden's small part too. Rachel and Eric are on track to winning oscars. When the right film comes along they'll get there. Loving Eric Bana....thanks for the booty shots and the look in the mirror.

Another Jane Austen romance that I love. I'll have to watch the other versions as well. Everyone in the cast did a lovely job. I enjoyed watching this couple together.

Nanny McPhee 2006,  PG)
Nanny McPhee
Absolutely wonderful. Touching. Update: Still nice to watch over and over which in my opinion makes it a classic. A young classic. Have to say I love the design of Evangeline's wedding dress at the end. Gorgeous with sleeves and all (instead of the strapless or tiny sleeved dresses pushed on us.) Getting off the subject.....

Something's Gotta Give
Proving that you don't need hot young couples to make a great love story.

The Lake House
I love a good romance and this is it. Love these two together.
13
Robin Hood 2010,  PG-13)
Robin Hood
Really very good. Excellent team of Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott. They know how to do the large action blockbuster right. Loved the mix of action, emotion, drama and comedy. Too hilarious to see 'Mr. Darcy' as the Sherriff! Cate Blanchett is always great to watch.

The Young Victoria 2009,  PG)
The Young Victoria
I loved the quiet tenderness of it. I don't know if he was really like that in real life but I liked Rupert's portrayal of Prince Albert and Emily was wonderful. I love Victoria's spirit and feistiness. I wish there had been more shown of their years together.

Morning Glory 2010,  PG-13)
Morning Glory
Funny! It works. Great cast and Rachel McAdams is so fun to watch. She does the overly hyper, energetic, ambitious young woman well with great physical comedic timing. She is becoming one of my favorite actresses. Loved Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton - always fabulous to watch. As was Jeff Goldblum and John Pankow. Thanks guys, I needed a laugh!

Life as We Know It 2010,  PG-13)
Life as We Know It
This was enjoyable. Again the critics don't get it. I think Kate and Josh's performances are developing nicely plus they look beautiful together. And how sweet is that baby except omg how old was the child they were using for the part when supposedly she was "two" years old?? Good Lord!

The Magic of Ordinary Days 2005,  Unrated)
The Magic of Ordinary Days
I really liked this. Yes some have called it cheesy but I thought it was simple and sweet. They had wonderful chemistry which makes everything even better. Anyone else notice how many movies that Keri Russell has played a young unwed mother in a tough situation?? This movie, Waitress, August Rush? Am I missing any? LOL! Ahh well she's good at it so I'm all for it. I had never really seen too much of Mr. Ulrich and really wasn't much of a fan but he did a good job in this. I thought Mare Winningham did a nice job also.
