A strangely depressing tale of a family facing uncertain times when a major highway is built practically in their backyard. Some events in this movie are so out of this world I can't help but think it was meant as an allegory.

This "horror comedy", is quite frankly, more on a comedy side. For the most part, it's a fun ride, with great visuals, clever cutting, and full of wicked humor. Unfortunately it starts falling apart towards the end, where the filmmakers seemed to have run out of ideas and decided to make it "scary". It ended up being just silly. It's a shame that after such great buildup they let all the steam out instead of going out with a bang.

A gripping psychological thriller with an ending that is perhaps the bleakest yet darkly funniest I've ever seen. I saw it years ago, and am still blown away by it... a true masterpiece. It was re-made 5 years later in the US by the same director. Possibly the worst remake EVER.

Exceptional psychological drama. I was completely blown away by it. It sort of resembles as a long Twilight Zone. The ending is very powerful, it literally made me shiver, along with the main character.
