The Great Dictator 1940,  G)
The Great Dictator
this could easily win a prize for the funniest movie ever. charlie chaplin is at his best performance.some very memorable scenes there.this movie has it all : some many laughs you forget any other crappy comedy you've seen before, but also, some serious, humanitarian message. very chaplin-esque. it wouldn't be magnificent otherwise.
2
Singin' in the Rain 1952,  G)
Singin' in the Rain
the best musical ever!
i could watch it a million times and still love it. and that to me is the best compliment a movie could receive.
3
Some Like It Hot 1959,  Unrated)
Some Like It Hot
men in drag.....there is nothing funnier. this movie proves it and takes it to a whole new level of funny:)

Tales from the Golden Age 2011,  Unrated)
Tales from the Golden Age
Another masterpiece of Romanian cinematography. it's funny and sad in the same time. funny in its absurdity and sad because it's a good depiction of what it once was.
story #4 (with the exploding pig) especially is hilarious. i laughed til my stomach ached. brilliant!
5
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
johnny depp as jack sparrow has embodied his best character so far. any other before is just a sketch of the silly, crazy, funny, amazing captain jack. as for anyone else, they are decor.

Victor Victoria 1982,  PG)
Victor Victoria
so funny it's the only movie i could see a million times (i very rarely-as in never - see a movie twice) and still laugh while julie andrews is breaking classes :)). it might not be the best, but it's certainly won me over.
7
The Purple Rose of Cairo 1985,  PG)
The Purple Rose of Cairo
one of the greatest movies i've ever seen....strange and delightful. i am not so keen on woody allen, but one of the major reasons for seeing this one is the fact that there's no woody allen starring in center line.i loved the story. kinda disappointed at the end, but i still think it is great.
8
Wizard of Oz 1925,  Unrated)
Wizard of Oz
a fabulous fairytale.after reading the book, the film is more amazing. that's new. all the movie makes is improve the insipid story in the book, adding music and great casting. ....if only my relatives were like that:)
9
Ninotchka 1939,  R)
Ninotchka
absolutely love it....especially because of garbo's role...very unlike her, but still she's perfect in it.
10
Sabrina 1954,  Unrated)
Sabrina
audrey hepburn couldn't make a bad role not even if she tried her best;))
11
The Birds 1963,  PG-13)

My Fair Lady 1964,  G)
My Fair Lady
my favourite movie for a great number of years. i still love it. "damn you 'enry 'iggins " :)). this is the reason why i love audrey hepburn. she might have had no voice, but she could surely act.
14
Tootsie 1982,  PG)

exceptional. i am quite sure that this is where cross-dressing began:D....at least for hollywood.

Across the Universe
probably one of the best movies i have seen lately...not only it has great music, but it is well adapted and perfectly synchronized to the storyline....it abounds in symbols and historical references, which can only be a great plus...the actors are perfectly chosen and to close it up.....it's a great movie.....
