Lost In Translation
Probably my all time favorite movie. About an actor doing an alcohol commercial in Tokyo who begins a friendship with the wife of a photographer. The acting and the script are some of the best in movie history. This is destined to be a classic.
3
Heat 1995,  R)
Heat
The best cops and robbers movie ever directed and quite possibly the best movie of Michael Mann's career. About a devoted cop against a smart career criminal. This is the first time Pacino and De Niro are on screen together, and it is great.
4
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope 1977,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
The best sci-fi series ever created. This is more than a movie series, it is an experience unlike any other. Thisis the 4th chapter in the series which introduces us to Luke Skywalker, who is more important than he knows.
5
Memento 2000,  R)
Memento
One of the best psychological thrillers of our time. This movie will play tricks with our mind until the final frame, they you'll have to watch it again, and you will do it gladly. Wonderful movie. About a man with no short term memory trying to find the man who killed his wife.
6
High Tension (Switchblade Romance) 2003,  R)
High Tension (Switchblade Romance)
Right up there with "Memento" is this french production "Haute Tension" or in the U.S it's called "High Tension". It is about two college girls who are going to study in the country, and end up being terrorized by a mad man. This is in no way a "Friday the 13th" like movie. It's much more than that.
7
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back 1980,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
The best of the original trilogy. Raises many questions, including possibly one of the biggest questions of the 80's, was Darth Vader Lukes father?
8
Audition (Ôdishon) 1999,  R)
Audition (Ôdishon)
Quite possibly the most disturbing movie I have ever seen besides "High Tension". This is about a widower who holds a fake audition to a movie to find a new wife. The woman he falls for is less than perfect. The whole movie is a build up to the last unforgettable 15 minutes. A must see for asian horror fans.
9
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi 1983,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
Last of the Original movies. Is kept back from pure greatness because of the campiness of the Ewoks. This is still a great movie.

FREAKY movie. Skip the remake and hit the original. Very Scary, and very good.

20
Inside Man 2006,  R)
Inside Man
This is Spike Lee's highest grossing movie to date. It's one of the best caper movies I've seen in theater. Denzel Washington is a negotiator trying to convince Clive Owen to stop robbing a bank and to give up, but soon enought Denzel gets the feeling this is much more than a simple bank robbery.
21
Closer 2004,  R)
