The Passion of the Christ 2004,  R)
The Passion of the Christ
An unforgettable film. Extremely moving. to witness...to see what my Savior went through for me leaves me speechless. There are no words to describe this film. This is (in my opinion) the GREATEST film ever made!!! "The Passion" is truly passionate. As a film, The Passion of the Christ is excellent; as a religious experience it is evern better. This film serves as a powerful reminder of the reality of what happened: Jesus did not merely die for us, He was killed by us in the most terrible way imaginable. the word "Passion" means to suffer. To suffer pain or sorrow; to experience a passion; to be extremely agitated. The passion only portrays the suffering of Christ. it is meant to bring what Christ did for our sins to the forefront. You may have an experience like this in a movie theater, once in a lifetime, I will never get the images out of my mind. this film touched me in a way no film has ever done before or ever will again.

Love Comes Softly 2003,  Unrated)
Love Comes Softly
A heart-warming, entertaining movie for the whole family to enjoy! With so many films oriented toward violence, anger, brutality, etc...this film is a breath of fresh air. I'm really glad they make movies such as this one. It's one of my favorites and sure to become a classic in my family!!!
3
One Night With the King 2006,  PG)
One Night With the King
This is more than just a film about a story in the Bible. It is more than just a love story. This is an inspiring family film. Esther exemplifies true courage, and remains true to what she believes even when her life is at risk. Don't see this film just because it's faith based...see it for the message it portarys about courage and about standing up for what you believe in...even when everyone else is sitting down.
4
The Color Purple 1985,  PG-13)
The Color Purple
Honestly a movie I will NEVER forget. Celie is an unfogettable character. What more can be said but beautiful; the tears of pain and joy are earned. It's quite sad to know that this is one of Spielberg's most underrated movies. Before 'Schindler's List'...there was 'The Color Purple". This film is a story that is one of incredible hardships but also the story of how love and forgiveness can redeem. Simply beatiful reallyis the only way to describe such a wonderous film, one which warms the heart, nourishes the soul, and brings a tear to the eye.
5
Top Gun 1986,  PG)
Top Gun
Top Gun deserves 100 stars!!! After all the films i've seen, Top Gun will forever remain my absolute favorite. Hands down, Top Gun rocks!!! The characters are real and loveable and the soundtrack is awesome. This movie has everything...an arrogant prodigy, a sensible best friend, a love interest, an arch nemesis and his dumb sidekick, some cool catchphrases, an emotional death scene, a euphoric victory scene and of course, unforgettable action scenes. This film was made to look cool, sound cool, and define cool! This film came out in 1986...21 years ago! It rocked then...it rocks now. THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!
6
Sliding Doors 1998,  PG-13)
Sliding Doors
This is without a doubt one of my favorite films. I think it's one of the best films Gwyneth Paltrow has done. This film has humor and anger and sadness and love. It's a feel good movie that's also sad too.
Though life is like a sliding door, it closes one end but opens the other. the result is much alike.
7
The Life of David Gale 2003,  R)
The Life of David Gale
This movie forever changed my life and how I live it and feel about the things that go on around me. It opened my eyes to the evil, murderous government that runs this country. It was the push...the start to my meeting and making some awesome and lasting and beautiful friendships with some intelligent an incredible men and women on America's death row. The shocking ending to this film blew me away!!! This is one of the most thought provoking films i've ever seen...it's brilliant!
8
Before Sunrise 1995,  R)
Before Sunrise
This has to be one of the most sincere and touching boy-meets-girl movies EVER made! this film strips down useless subplots and Hollywood divergences. This film is what I go to the movies for...to think, to be provoked and to be swept away by the magic that only cinema can provide. This film will invoke your best memories of youthful idealism and the deep joy of sharing ideas, however briefly, with another person.
9
Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love 1996,  R)
Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love
This film is about true love and the struggle for that love in the face of adversity. This film can take you through a full range of emotions, and expect it to affect you for the rest of the night after watching it. I admire Mira Nair's films. She clearly loves India and it's culture. This is a beautiful film!
10
I Remember Mama 1948,  Unrated)
I Remember Mama
This is the most beautiful film i have ever seen. It was funny, sad and the acting as absolutely brilliant. i wish they made films like this today. The more time passes and the more inundated we become with the raunchy, violent frentic world around us, the more amazing this film becomes. I am deeply moved by its lovingly crafted, richly detailed storytelling. My most favorite scene...the almsot heartbreaking tenderness of the scene where Papa decides that daughter Katherine is grown-up enough to have her first cup of coffee. A timeless treasure of a film!
11
The Diary of Anne Frank 1959,  PG)
The Diary of Anne Frank
The first time I saw this film I was 9 years old. It was a Friday night. This film was the late late show...I stayed up til 3 int eh morning and cried myself to sleep. I have had people tell me how depressing this movie is.Those folks have missed the point for years. We do know what fate befell Anne and her family and friends, but the overriding feeling is,as Anne says near the end of the film, that in time things can and will change. Anne's diary, the hopes and dreams of a teenage girl caught up in a world of hate she couldn't comprehend, is now classic literature. It serves as a dark reminder of the bestial nature we can sink to. And it reminds us that hope, courage and love can spring from the darkest places.
12
The Notebook 2004,  PG-13)
The Notebook
The Notebook is one of my all-time favourite movies. Its a constant, and classic love story that makes you feel as if you are there watching it.. as if you are one of the characters, which makes the impact of the story just that much more real. There really are no words to describe how this movie makes you feel, but one thing is for sure... It will make you feel. After watching it, i've often just.. sat where i am and just thought about it. It's just one of those movies that you will think about 30 years after watching it, and still get that same feeling in your heart.. and you'll know that it touched you in one way or another. If you haven't seen it, you really are missing out... Its a classic!
13
The Lake House 2006,  PG)
14
A Walk to Remember 2002,  PG)
15
The Nativity Story 2006,  PG)
The Nativity Story
this is not "A" Christmas story but "THE" Christmas story!!! I was moved emotionally by this film. This film combines biblical accuracy with excellent acting.
16
Bride and Prejudice 2004,  PG-13)
Bride and Prejudice
i love bollywood films. and this is one of the best made.
17
Red Dawn 1984,  PG-13)
Red Dawn
The movie is and was just a great "what if.....?" and an amusing 80's Hollywood schtick action movie, no more, no less. But i loved this move back then and still today. I own this movie on DVD now, brings back the 80s for me, we loved this movie when we were young kids, you know, when the Russians were the bad guys? its a brat packer movie for sure, get the popcorn, suspend some disbelief and be entertained!

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003,  PG-13)

Clue 1985,  PG)

Casablanca 1942,  PG)

Footloose 1984,  PG)
22
The Goonies 1985,  PG)
23
Platoon 1986,  R)
Platoon
Charlie Sheen has never been better. This film is brutal and violent with no happy ending. At the end of the day isn't that what a war film shoiuld be? This is such a breathtaking film. Oliver Stone perfectly captures war. "Full Metal Jacket" showcases how inhumane the war was. "Apocalypse Now" turns it into a story about life in general and hopelessness. But Platoon has everything. Trying hard to avoid the old cliche', but if you only watch one war film, make sure it is this one. Nothing else can come close. This is one of the greatest war films ever produced. An emotionally shattering tribute. Makes you sit up and take notice.
24
Dead Man Walking 1995,  R)
25
Titanic (in 3D) 2012,  PG-13)
Titanic (in 3D)
It's name stirs the imagination...Titanic. the unsinkable ship. The unimaginable catastrophe. The untold stories that lay in mystery two and a half miles beneath the waves of the North Atlantic. the film is timeless, moving and epic. What an experience this film was the first time i saw it. it will take your breath away. The characters, Jack & Rose, are unforgettable. This movie will "go on" in my heart forever!
26
Iron Eagle 1985,  PG-13)
Iron Eagle
I can't help it...I love watching Iron Eagle. It came out when I was like 11 years old and it always brings back good memories of sitting around with my sister and friends. I'm not saying this is a great movie. It is just a never ending entertaing film. This film is 1 part Power Rangers, 2 parts Top Gun, and 100% cheese, fluff and 80s guilty pleasure.
27
Walk the Line 2005,  PG-13)
Walk the Line
Definitely the best film of 2005!!! It's a deliriously romantic and entertaining and moving film about Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. I think it's the most romantic film made since "The Notebook". I think Phoenix and Witherspoon have great on-screen chemsitry. They were defintely worthy of their Oscar wins.
28
Annie 1981,  PG)
Annie
This is one of my all-time favorites!!! There is no comparison to the newest versions of this film. I'll never take anyone seriously as Annie than Aileen Quinn and carol Burnett IS Miss hannigan. The immortal line, "She's a drunk" will live on forever. Annie is my childhood movie. My sister and I saw it first on HBO...I was 8 and she was 4. We would watch it over and over and over and over again...and then watch it one more time. 24 years later I still know every line and every lyric to this film and I have soooo much fun watching it with my little girl.
29
Singles 1992,  PG-13)
Singles
Everything about this film is great. The cast, the music, and the truth behind the movie will bring a smile to your face. It's a beautiful little quirky film that everyone who has been in love can identify with.
30
Bend It Like Beckham 2002,  PG-13)
Bend It Like Beckham
This film was not meant to be the most profound Oscar winning film. It's a feel good movie. It has a really cutte story. I love it! I like movies about sacrifice for sport. this movie is so good. It's about living. Living your life for yourself and respect for others.
31
Find Me Guilty 2006,  R)
Find Me Guilty
i wasn't quite sure what to expect from tis film and Vin Diesel as the lead character. I was impressed though. his acting skills have stepped up to the next challenge...he was perfect in this role. Vin Diesel was no young Al Pacino but he was certainly better than the old Pacino would be in this role. Why is it I always leave movies with organized crime themes rooting for or embracing the criminals? Am I the only one? Anyway...CONGRATULATIONS Vin Diesel...you are now a true actor sir!
32
XXX 2002,  PG-13)
XXX
This is such a great film for action movie fans. We get an amazing and fun performance from Vin Diesel. Not one minute of this film was boring. It's mindless entertainment...but I love mindless entertainment!
33
Hideous Kinky 1998,  R)
Hideous Kinky
There is no big story here, no buildup of drama, and no real endgame. "Hideous Kinky" is a study of the family dynamics amongst this odd troupe. The acting is very good, especially the two children, and the on-location filming in Morocco is a treat. This film is definitely not for everyone, but if you are in to this type of movie, you should enjoy it. The single word that I would use to describe "Hideous Kinky" is 'honest'.
34
Love's Long Journey 2005,  Unrated)
Love's Long Journey
This movie is a beautiful story about true love and not just that, but true Christian love. It has meaning and depth to a world where many people never find that love. I loved this movie and the 2 in the series before it. We need more Christian movies in the world and I strongly urge everyone to watch this series.
35
Before Sunset 2004,  R)
Before Sunset
This is not a movie but life. Amazingly simple and deep! The ending is specific like the whole film and everything in it. Hawke & delpy are sublime, of course! I consider them one of the best on-screen couple ever. The ending, which is in all way, PERFECT!!! Perhaps...one of the best endings ever!!
36
Running Scared 2005,  R)
Running Scared
Nobody makes movies like this anymore. 5 years ago this film would've been toned down but bravo to director/writer Wayne Kramer for sticking to his guns & delivering one of the most uncompromising, memorable and downright brutal thrillers in recent memory. Paul Walker is surprisingly impressive considering the strictly one-dimensional roles he played in movies. This film kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was next. Everytime I thought I had it figured out, it threw a curve at me. From beginning to end it was fabulous and realistic. Paul Walker gave an EXCELLENT performance!!!
37
Schindler's List 1993,  R)
Schindler's List
Schindler's List is one of the BEST movies ever made!!! This film is powerful, and moving. It's Spielberg's best, winning him a well-deserved Oscar. It's a depressing film that doesn't try to be mushy, with scenes leaving you very shocked. the black-and-white is a wonderful touch to the movie and makes it feel much more powerful and sad. The cast is superb...Liam Neeson gives his best performance. he is brilliant, giving a moving performance (especially during the end). Ben kinglsey is great as Stern, giving a tremendous performance. Ralph Fiennes is brilliant as Goeth. No one could have played the "villian" better than him. I believe this film and these roles are the roles ALL these actors were born to play. this film is excellent. Great acting and brilliant directing and contains scenes that easily some of the most moving scenes in movie history.
38
Close Encounters of the Third Kind 1977,  PG)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
An amazing film and one of my favorites. Everything in this film works towards one end: to transform the adult sense of fear back into the childlike sense of wonder at the world. This film isn't about being afraid of the unknown, but rather embracing it. Paying attention to the 'subliminal images" in life. The ending of this film, when all the fear is finally stripped away and the sense of amazed wonder overtakes everyone on the screen and in the audience, brings out an amazing catharsis. this film is powerful, mysitfying, rejuvenating. Excellent performance from Richard Dreyfuss.
39
Jarhead 2005,  R)
Jarhead
Surprisingly this is not necessarily an anti-war piece. It focuses on the psychological turmoil of one soldier, it is able to speak specifically about this man;s expereicne and how it relates to those around him. Jake Gyllenhaal....WOW!!! This is an incredible performance. Forget "Brokeback Mountain"...he should have gotten an Oscar nod for "Jarhead". He literally explodes off the screen. This film is an unforgiving, psychologically heartbreaking masterpiece. Its humorous, sad, psychotic, intense, and most important REAL! Every war movie is different...every war is the same. I mean at last...a movie that simply shows it like it is...no "RAMBO" superhero-idiotic- nonsense; no overdone melancholoy attempt at cinematic artistry at the cost of authenticity. To me, Jarhead felt like th "Full Metal Jacket" of this generation.
40
Rambo: First Blood Part II 1985,  R)
Rambo: First Blood Part II
Rambo is an icon! Stallone has created two pop culture icons...Rocky & Rambo. this movie brings out raw emotions, tension, and adrenaline. The viewer relates with John Rambo and his pain and how the Govt. lies. this film is what an action film should be the speech at the end gave the spirit of what the film was about. This movie is a sort of legend. It's the greatest action flick of all time. It's intelligent, beautiful, frightening, and.......so "Eighties" that you could consider it a piece of history. Rambo is an anti-hero. He really doesn't care about America. He cares about American soldiers still trapped in that hell...Vietnam. Favorite scene...Co Bau's death...very poetic.
41
Armageddon 1998,  PG-13)
Armageddon
This film is an action film. It's not supposed to sweep the Oscars, the acting isn't supposed to be perfect, and it's not supposed to make perfect sense. It's very dramatic. Bruce Willis captures the "reluctant heor" rolse and Liv tyler does well as his daughter. Steve Buscemi delivers a great comedic performance as the genius who goes insane once they land on the asteroid. Great, funny, intense, dramatic...great great film with very emotinal and touching scenes. For love. For honor. For mankind.
42
Braveheart 1995,  R)
Braveheart
This film is a flurry of emotions to move you in every direction. I hae yet to find a film of quite this caliber. Braveheart contains elements of romance, epic/action, mystery, history, and of course drama. this level of uncompromised multi-tasking allows the film to move you to laugh & cry, love 7 hate, or even to think & be taught. William Wallace...for he only had one life to give for Scotland. One of the greatest movies of all time. Wallace's emotinal speech at the battle of Stirling still is inspirational and I think the REAL William Wallace would be proud of the way Mel gibson portrayed him.
43
Deep Impact 1998,  PG-13)
Deep Impact
can I just start off by saying that i don't like Tea' Leoni. I don't think she is a very good actress and she is the only reason i give this film 4 1/2 stars instead of 5. I cried all the way thru this film when i first watched it. i've seen it at least 100 times since then and I still cry each time. This is an awesome film about hope and survival and love!
44
Mary Poppins 1964,  G)
Mary Poppins
This film is filled with brilliant metaphors that inspire the imagination!!! i've loved this film my whole life. Visually it's fantastic and the music is awesome. It's great fun and Julie Andrews is just beautiful. This film is simply supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Mary Poppins is positively, practically perfect in every way!!!
45
National Treasure 2004,  PG)
National Treasure
PG movies are back with a vengeance! this was a darn good movie from both a parent's perspective and from both my 10 & 12 year olds. Bruckheimer brought the PG movie back to where it should be...exciting, thrilling, and full of adventure. My kids LOVED this movie and loved visiting DC afterward to see history up close and personal.
46
Corrina, Corrina 1994,  PG)
Corrina, Corrina
One of my all time favorite movies. i've always loved ray Liotta and Whoopi is always amazing. The real 'star' in this film though is tina Majorino. she doesn't act as such, but just "is" Molly. You don't even imagine she is acting...she is so natural in this role. This is a very endearing and heartwarming film. I readily feel it captures the delicate issue of mixed race relations during the 1950's with the right amount of poignancy and humor.
47
Ghost 1990,  PG-13)
Ghost
This is one of the most touching love stories ever made. 'Ghost' is one of my fave films. The chemsitry between Swayze and Moore is incredible. The musical score is one of the best! The pottery scene truly makes you appreciate the existence of "Unchained Melody". I cried at the end...not because it was sad but because it was beautiful!
48
Alice in Wonderland 1985,  Unrated)
Alice in Wonderland
I first saw this film in 1985 when I was 10 years old. This is, for me, the definitive version. I was impressed with everything about it. one of my favorites growing up and still has a place in my video heart. When I found this on DVD 3 months ago I was absolutely thrilled!!! What makes it so special is that I now watch it with my own daughter 20 years later and she loves it just as much as I do.
49
Bedknobs and Broomsticks 1971,  G)
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
This is one of many movies that has always been with me, in my heart and memory from the time I was about 9 or 10 years old. It completely enchanted me. there are a handful of movies that hold very fond places in my childhood memories...this is one of them. It is simply a magical and wonderful and charming film...even today as I watch it with my own children. I consider this movie a timeless classic!
50
A Christmas Story 1983,  PG)
A Christmas Story
My #1 all-time favorite Christmas movie EVER!!! This is the best Christmas movie ever made. This film is funny, poignant, and totally memorable. Some of the best scenes of all time. Worth watching every Christmas forever!
