The movie that set the standard for adventure movies! The humor is sometimes subtle, sometimes very practical..always funny! The adventures are breathtaking and, believe it or not, believable..at least when you watch it - and that's what counts! It's oh, so close to a 5-star rating.
The story grabs hold of you from the start and doesn't let go until the final credits. Both Ford and Jones are splendid in displaying their character's feelings..despair, hope, anger and obsession. ..and then there is the suspense and the action.. :)
No one does the tortured underdog better than Willis. He is the average-Joe (ok, a cop, but anyhow :)) all of us can relate to, who finds himself facing impossible situations..and conquers them.
"..But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?" Hehe, yeah - Dirty Harry!
This Indy-movie is the one that relies most on the humor. I like the interaction between Ford and Connery..much is said with few words - grunts and subtle grins are often enough.
Almost, but not quite reaching the level of "Raiders..". In all, "Raiders.." is better, but "Temple.." manages to evoke more creepy sensations due to many gooey sequences.
