This delicate, cautiously presented tale of betrayal within a British spy ring during the Cold War has the best male ensemble for 2011. Some viewers may find the little over 2-hour running time too modest to cram overload of subplots and character arcs ending in a confusing, cold thriller. This, the script, however is for me the film's major strength along with fantastic cinematography and wonderful direction. Fascinating and definitely must-watch.

Newest Almodovar effort features seamless, fluid editing and usual fantastic, colorful characters in an unusual Almodovar world of subdued colors with serious, subtle treatment of sexual perversions. Delicate theme of voyeurism and privacy is handled magnificently in a leisurely-paced, well told, taut and engaging battle of wits between a woman who quests for freedom and a brilliant surgeon who imprisons her.
